Bourbon user here. Only bourbon. This one is my “top shelf” brand.

I like bourbon too but this malt really wets my whistle

Really hard choice, but I guess it's Woodford Reserve Double Oaked, mostly because this is a really fine "any time" drink for almost any occasion. Really good all around bourbon that's slightly better than most all arounders

Attached: 11019510874142_360x.png (246x344, 125K)

that 80 proof one

Coffee malt was good, I liked their Taketsuru better. Favourite has to be octomore for me

btw, this is mine

Shit taste like acetone idk why everyone likes it. Anything in Jim Beams small batch collection is better. This is sweeter and taste more fruity. Way better imho.

Attached: knob-creek-knob-creek-kentucky-straight-bourbon-whiskey.jpg (532x1000, 29K)

I just looked this up is sounds pretty good. I'll have to try that one soon

Lol nope just curious what other people like. And since this is a malt I'm gunna have to try this

Im sorry but I dont like wheated bourbons. I dont understand the obsession. Basil Hayden is way better. Hell bulleit bourbon is better.

You gotta step up your bourbon game.

Shits half a grand a bottle

How do you feel about the Knob Creek Rye? I prefer it over the normal stuff.

Honestly I feel like its a damn good bourbon but not worth the price. Theres a point of diminishing returns and I think this bottle passed it. Ill grab it for a special occasion sure but I wont pretend for a second that the taste is worth the price. Still miles ahead of makers though that shit sucks.

Maker’s use to be

I'm a Yamazaki 18 kinda guy, although the Hakushu 12 is a damn fine scotch (if I'm in the mood).

Not bad but not Bonded-In-Bottle now is it?

Bourbon>other whiskey. I've never tried a real Kentucky bourbon that I didn't like. I can't say the same for anything else.

Attached: Bookers-Bourbon-Whisky-750ml.jpg (651x1000, 136K)

this'll do just fine.

Attached: whistlepig-bosshog-whitebg.jpg (300x631, 138K)

The hakushu has been on my list just haven't gotten around to it yet

Ill be honest I have yet to break into the world of rye. Im stuck on bourbons because I love them so much. Ill give it a try now that you mention it but it aint my field of expertise so I wont have much to compare it to. I think I would just compare it to bourbons i have had and thats not a fair comparison.

Im poor so i like Jack daniels

I agree completely and what other user had said, it's $600 a bottle. Lucky for me, they keep it stocked at the bar down the road and it's only $25 a glass.

My man. I dont think I have had a bottle of bourbon I have liked more than bookers. Bakers is great but bookers is the best. Fair price and complex taste. Honestly my favorite.

any cheap bourbon.

I don't drink unless I'm getting drunk, and I'm not going to buy an expensive bottle for me and my friends to drink in one night.

I enjoy a very petey whiskey.

Lagavulin 16 yr. old, when i can afford

I should mention, I'm only 22, and a poorfag. Haven't tried much decent whiskey.

I think I'll get shit on for this, but I fucking love Evan Williams. Even though it's cheap and bottom-shelf, it goes down smooth as hell. I rank it above many top-shelf bottles.

Scotch, Bourbon, and whatever that Japanese shit is. Not a single actual Whiskey in a favorite whiskey thread...

This is the finest scotch ITT.

never got a a bottle but tried it at a bar. Liked it, but prefer the uigedail or however the fuck you spell that

it was only limnited edition, i should have snagged a handle...

That’s a Scotch tho

No hate man I'll be honest I drank Jim bean on ice and it was pretty fucking good when I let it sit for a little

Mind defining actual Whiskey then?

mmmmm

Woodford Reserve. Perfect flavor, perfect balance, perfect finish.

It aint top self and I am a different user and that guy doesnt know what the fuck he is talking about he put a flavored whisky on his list. But KNob is a damn good bourbon for the price. My local store literally keeps this shit on the lowest shelf. But its good shit man.

try the quarter cask

laphroaig 30, minutes before a stake
> my man

Never tried Japanese Scotch because, well, it's Japanese Scotch. I always understood that Scotch can only be made in Scotland.

Yes it is.

It’s okay

Haven’t tried the coffee grain, but original nikka is definitely one of my favorites
Pic related is the fucking GOAT bourbon

Attached: 19C634A9-B412-4E54-AE59-5E7F646009EC.jpg (433x960, 62K)

I'm no aficionado. I just like how the rye tastes, compared to other whiskies.

You know what, I will.

Bullshit, this asked about a favorite whiskey. Not, "What whiskey do you spend a bunch of money on to make you feel better because you've got 'class'?"

No one cares that you spend a bunch of money to drink alone, faggot.

i actually prefer buffalo trace in that ball game

Heroin. Jam it in your fucking eyeballs

vodkas and rums could have their own little breakdown too.

Man I had this and it was not good at all. Only paid >$30 and still felt ripped off

Laphroiag 10 is a decent cooking whiskey

I'd sell my mother for a bottle of this again. Smooth a silk. One glass is not ever enough.

Attached: 91aIlZdTB0L._SX385_.jpg (385x385, 22K)

it's pretty uncanny how similar Japanese whisky tastes to scotch.

I absolutely loved it. harder to find tho

well yes, but this is to illustrate the point to the abovementioned mongs

>it's pretty uncanny how similar Japanese whisky tastes to scotch.

Probably because the Nikka founder married a scottish woman and came to scotland to learn the craft

I separate scotch from bourbon tho

way overpriced. also blended. you can get a better single malt for half the price
but yeah it tastes good

for the price

Attached: monkeyshoulder.jpg (1000x1000, 62K)

I care. It’s my booze, and I’d like it to be good.

Op here. Don't try the grain its shit. Go with the malt

Ummmm...coors light....

see:

Jim Beam is pretty damn great for the price. Their subsidiary distilleries, including Bookers and Bakers, are even better. Any bourbon is hard to be dissapointed by, honestly.

Not a real whiskey tho

Thats fair. But I havent got buffalo trace since I had eagle rare. Very similar notes but more complexity than buffalo trace. I honestly dont know why anyone would get it when eagle rare is just a few bucks more. If you like buffalo you will love eagle rare.

examples user? would be very appreciated.

never had it! thanks for the recommendation, i'll try to pick one up next time im at costco

Great starter scotch for new people who havent had it before. Not too much going on but enough and for that price its a good deal.

Good to know, original nikka is easily one of my favorites, so I’ll keep it that way. Hibiki is also good, and suntory if I’m on a budget

I drink alone. That said, nothing but my best bitch negro

Suntori never again..

easily the best basic blend out there, along with Old Parr if you can find it.

If you want some great bang for buck

Monica

You didn't even name a whiskey you like and said which ever one is cheap and gets you fucked up. This thread is about a particular whiskey you like. Not about price or "class". Some people actually enjoy a good tasting whiskey.

check out scotchgit.bitbucket.io

Buffalo Trace never gets recognized because of its low price. Even though I know it's a a damn fine bourbon, the low price still irritates me. High end audio is the same - even though the component sounds good, you're biased because of the price. Humans...

Fuck yeah, Eagle Rare. That shit's dangerous. It's too smooth.

Thanks Anons. At that price its a mighty good whisky. I was wondering what does everyone think of Henry Mckenna?

Oh good, licorice. Just like I get at the moving pictures.

That's literally not whiskey, but congrats?

How’s it compare to Even Williams White label thou?
Asking for a friend

inb4 pappy van winckle

Kys and take your japs and bourbon with you

People who know bourbon respect buffalo trace. The distillery does good consistent work on all their brands and it’s a damn sight better than bulleit

Y'all are welcome to a glass if you're ever my way.

Never tried Evan Williams. Sorry.

i use that in my lawnmower

Had some 12 year last week, it was ok. But of spice I didn’t expect but reasonably smooth.Still prefer orphan barrel.

pappy is way over rated ive heard
never tried it tho...

If I ever am, I’ll gladly take you up on it.
Similar to the gentleman?

You are in for a treat. Thank me later

similar to kerosene

You tryin to talk shit about gasoline?

Yes please:)

Damn right but I still maintain Eagle Rare is a better bourbon. Thoughts?

I hear the 20 year is excellent. The 12 I had was ok. I wouldn’t go hunting for some, that’s for sure.

So a lot like Kentucky gentleman then

Faggot serial killer detected

The ten year Mckenna of course not that other shit.

Nope

I prefer the coffee grain over the malt, my favorite is angels envy though

Ooh, I love Willet. I'm jealous.

Attached: 10347827.jpg (450x600, 24K)

I definitely agree. Eagle rare tastes a bit young for a 10 year, but buffalo trace is on par with 4 roses small batch to me. It’s definitely not well, but it’s far from top shelf.
Eagle rare does have a bite on the end, but is overall far smoother than buffalo trace. Blantons is good, but nothing amazing.

You aint wrong for that price you could get many bottles that are better. imho both bookers and bakers are better.

Foreal? Man youre nuts the malt is way better in my opinion

It’s much more intense, favorable and brings the heat. Not for the beginners

Attached: mfho52sqnjj2ultk9bha.jpg (600x550, 39K)

i guess i need to try bookers then

How was it bad? Its a little strong but the brown sugar and fruity taste is amazing? What didnt you like about it? And diluting it with that much water is a sin

You'll get no argument from me. I'm more into Scotch, but Elijah Craig and Russell's Reserve are my go tos.

I usually drink Old Grand Dad 114, but this has been my go-to lately.

Attached: 2015100218_mellow_corn_whiskey_original.png (300x600, 31K)

E.H Taylor single barrel would be cheaper, and still have a similar profile.

Russls is good. Like a way smoother, more oaky Wild Turkey. Same distiller.

Ill take your word for it.

Wild Turkey sucks nigger balls

"Scotch" is "whisky" (without an "e") and it is made in Scotland

My favorite whisky is Laphroaig QC (quarter cask) Islay single malt ABV 48%, but I also like Lagavulin 16 a lot but I only buy about one bottle per year compared to more like 40 bottles of Laphroaig per year.

Favourite whiskey (with an e):
is Jim Beam Rye (Prohibition Style). Sometimes drink it neat, but mostly use it when making Manhattan cocktails.

How did you get lost in that very simple process

Treat yourself to a bottle of Gentleman Jack one day. You’ll taste the difference. Evan Williams is one whiskey I can’t do. Jim Beam is pretty much back of the bottom shelf as well.

You silly ass nigga’s get back to me when you reach my experience levels. Bunch of new fagorts
