Do any other anons around my age (23) ever wish they could go back and be the same age in the early 2000's or the 90's?

Do older anons wish they could go back to being "partying age" ?

I was born in 1978. I wouldn't want to go back to that age or lifestyle.

1995 here, not really. All culture of the decades is artificial. what was once cool is now ridiculous. youtube.com/watch?v=_m_Qzpx5wq4

32, wish I could relive the entire 90s again. Objectively better days.

Would it be hard to not have the internet again?

I see your point. You never think about being able to go back, though?
I'm glad I'm not alone, user.

23 as well. I think that no matter your generation, you’ll always wonder what is was like to grow up in a different time. Objectively you and I “have it the best” but I do think I would be fun to grow up in a simpler time. The 80’s sounds awesome. Nobody took themselves too seriously. Also good drugs and music

>The 80’s sounds awesome
Yeah; it sounds like such a great time to have been in one's twenties.

Also I live in a city that flourished in the 80s. I’m extremely jealous of my parents stories of growing up with the city. Now it’s gentrified as hell

You're flat lying. The 80s and 90s were FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR superior to this cursed timeline.

If you have those feelings I would say you are unhappy with the direction of your life right now OP. Time for some positive change op.

My city hasn't changed much, but I do get a bit jealous when I hear my parents stories from the late 80's and early 90's.
Seems like a simpler time (and yes I know the grass is always greener).

I am trying to figure out what that should be.

I had internet in 1994.
90s culture was trash, user.

You're trash, faggot. Lying trash. Or just such a piece of shit you'd be hated in any era.

No need to be hostile, man.

Born in 1971, arrived before the release of Atari, also a teen for the eighties...

Yeah and you talk that way irl. I'm ready to be judged.

Then became a forum member of Tom Cambells, My Big Toe.

I guess I just got lucky

>DAE THING EVERYONE WANTS TO DO
god i hate these threads

>teenager in the 80's
That must have been fun.

Yes there is. This board is filled with shills, demoralizers and provocateurs. And that's one of them..

It was fun, there were kinda alot of influences from the sixties and seventies, that made it feel like a kaleidoscope of experience.

Also I saw ET at the flicks, my world was never the same again...

>ugly old people threatening to incinerate the world with nukes
>mysterious new disease that makes sex deadly
>really shitty music
>if you want to see something new or different, you had to go to bookshops, record stores or jumble sales
>international phone conversations had three second delays after you spoke, awkward as fuk
>you were on time, or your location was unknown, no ability to flop out a toy and txt 'where are you?'
>if you were stuck somewhere waiting for something, you had to use internal resources or actually experince your surroundings and that time, no toy to flop out and stare at
i was an 80s teen, there was loads of good things, but it's already become a different world from now.

Well how did the 90's treat you?
Was it a good decade as well?

As a young adult this time was more challenging, building a life gaining experience etc...it was Depeche Modes finest era Violator, and Songs of Faith and Devotion got me through it.

The world started to get a bit cynical

Kek.
I find myself getting more cynical with each year; I guess it's just a part of life (for some people at least).

Mobile phones invaded the planet, people stopped being able to remember telephone numbers.

>people stopped being able to remember telephone numbers
I can still remember a few, but you are definitely right.

I think cynicism is a form of fear, we must try to overcome it

Yeah maybe you're right.

OP here.
I've got to go to work, but this was a good thread.
Maybe I'll start another thread when I get home.
Until next time Yea Forumsros.

There's a very nice gentle reflective quality to the pics.

Agreed, thanks.

where is the picture from?

Started too? Have you not always seen the word as cynical? How do you see cynicism now vs then?

yw friend

Every generation bud. Even if the technology was shit, people still long for their youth. Try to build a life that you enjoy. Of at least don’t hate.

Oh absolutely. I'd love to redo life events with the level of confidence and knowledge that I have now.

No, I think the advantage of youth is that life has exciting possibilities, as we get older we choose to narrow our view of the world to justify our fears and to blame others for our failure's.

I try to, "Live gracefully with uncertainty"
