Why is it that an overwhelming amount of trans people have autism?

People with autism tend to have a harder or slower time in developing their sense of identity. They may feel that there is something different about themselves or that they dont belong in a group. Nowadays it is often ascribed to gender dysphoria, but it could just be autism.
