Hello friend.
As a brief recap, Bugs Under the Bridge have set up a hive under a well traveled bridge, and are ambushing travelers. They have also wiped out a well defended dwarf hole, and are considering building another hive there.
>Bump
Buzz Buzz bugs time bois.
>NewOldFag
Welcome back Yea Forumsro. I'll fire up those options now that we've got two people back.
You decide to return to the original hive, fearing threats from the other side of the bridge. You place 2 drone guards outside of the conquered dwarf hole, and have your only remaining scorpion drag the ballista out of the tunnel and place it above the hole, adding to its defense. You return to the hive to find all is well.
Count:
11 Winged Drones (Armored and winged insectoids with sharp mandibles)
1 Scorpion Soldiers (Six-Legged Scorpions armed with pincers and poisoned tails… Outfitted with metal dwarven armor.)
13 Ant Workers (Nearly defenseless being with a desire to labour)
1 Ant Queen (can produce asexually, spawns 4 new Ant workers per turn)
Provisions for 7 turns
OPTIONS:
A. Search the Scrubland for Provisions
B. Evolve more Worker Ants
C. Begin construction of hive in the dwarf hole
D. Other
Dang, almost quints.
D
Start a new queen, then next turn start construction with the 15+ worker bonus.
If that's an option I agree, not sure if we can have more than one queen in a hive.
Otherwise begin building the new hive, option C
>Wingy boi
Sorry, that was
>NewOldFag
Your Ant Queen begins to reproduce asexually, except this time she begins to split herself seemingly in two, like an amoeba. From the depths of her carapace emerges a newer, smaller Ant Queen. It will take 3 turns for her to reach maturity, and needs a nest by then, or her and the older Ant Queen will tear each other apart for control of the hive under the bridge. In the distance as this is happening, a winged drone patrolling the bridge spots a human coming up the trail from the forest. Seeing the drone and the wagons and bodies left over from the ambush of the troubadours, he turns back and heads into the forest.
Count:
11 Winged Drones (Armored and winged insectoids with sharp mandibles)
1 Scorpion Soldiers (Six-Legged Scorpions armed with pincers and poisoned tails… Outfitted with metal dwarven armor.)
17 Ant Workers (Nearly defenseless being with a desire to labour)
2 Ant Queen (can produce asexually, spawns 4 new Ant workers per turn)
Provisions for 6 turns
OPTIONS:
A. Ignore the Human, begin construction of new hive.
B. Send a scout after the human, begin construction of the new hive
C. Send all of your troops to pursue the human
D. Other
B, he's gonna bring shit down on us.
>NewOldFag
Bump
B
Maybe we should start cleaning up our messes lol just leaving corpses Willy Nilly
>Wingy boi
The drone is dispatched after the human as the rest of the hive escorts the workers ants to the site for the new hive. The drone buzzes angrily, pursuing his prey. The human is clever however, and is barely traceable through the thick forest, using the trees to hide his retreat. The drone continues to pursue him down the path until he reaches the fork. Over the tree line, he can see two distinct columns of smoke from the direction the Elvish sign, while the human side of the path seems quiet. The hive will be finished next turn, two turns until the new Queen reaches maturity
Count:
11 Winged Drones (Armored and winged insectoids with sharp mandibles)
1 Scorpion Soldiers (Six-Legged Scorpions armed with pincers and poisoned tails… Outfitted with metal dwarven armor.)
21 Ant Workers (Nearly defenseless being with a desire to labour)
2 Ant Queen (can produce asexually, spawns 4 new Ant workers per turn)
Provisions for 5 turns
OPTIONS:
A. Guess the human went down the Elvish path and pursue
B. Guess the human went down the human path and pursue
C. Return to the hive.
D. Other
B, and remind me what the ratios are on turning workers into drones into Soldier.
>NewOldFag
B
Human path, check for traps and proceed with caution.
3 Worker Ants = Winged Drone (4 suits of armor left) 5 Worker Ants = Scorpion Soldier (4 suits of metal armor left) ? Worker Ants = New Unit Type
>OP
The drone turns right and heads down the human side of the path. He buzzes along, no sign of the human he was tracking is to be found anywhere. After a while, he comes to a hill and slows. At the top of the hill, he crouches and peers over. A human hamlet can be seen below, women working diligently near their homes while children run and play in the street. Strangely, few men and fewer soldiers are to be seen… The hive in the former dwarf hole is complete, and the New Ant Queen is escorted to it (+4 Worker Ants per turn!)
Count:
11 Winged Drones (Armored and winged insectoids with sharp mandibles)
1 Scorpion Soldiers (Six-Legged Scorpions armed with pincers and poisoned tails… Outfitted with metal dwarven armor.)
29 Ant Workers (Nearly defenseless being with a desire to labour)
2 Ant Queen (can produce asexually, spawns 4 new Ant workers per turn)
Provisions for 4 turns
OPTIONS:
A. Buzz down into the village to search for the human scout
B. Buzz back up the path and check down the Elvish side of the path
C. Return to the hive
D. Other (search for provisions, evolve, etc.)
D
Have the scout wait at the fork, and give warning if enemies come from either path.
Also evolve some more Soldiers.

Evolve the ant workers into spiders
I'd like to evolve 4 scorpion soldiers from workers.
>NewOldFag
Agreed. D more scorpion soldiers for the defense of the hive.
>Wingy boi
Wait wut nigga spiders change the whole game up
Are spiders an option? What other bugs can we make OP?
>NewOldFag
Cool and just add a tag or use your existing one so I can keep track of existing players and votes. Thanks.
>OP
I can run with it this time, but next time just choose mystery unit, and ill work with it from there
>OP
Spiders set up catapults made of web along the bridge
>KillPhil
The drone decides to not reveal his presence to the human village, and flies back to the fork in the road, hiding in the underbrush to wait and see who will come up the path next. However, all is quiet at the moment. Meanwhile, back at the hive, 27 Worker Ants cocoon themselves, and will evolve by next turn (3 Scorpion Soldiers, one new mystery unit).
Count:
11 Winged Drones (Armored and winged insectoids with sharp mandibles)
1 Scorpion Soldiers (Six-Legged Scorpions armed with pincers and poisoned tails… Outfitted with metal dwarven armor.)
33 Ant Workers (Nearly defenseless being with a desire to labour) (25 cocooned)
2 Ant Queen (can produce asexually, spawns 4 new Ant workers per turn)
Provisions for 3 turns
OPTIONS:
A. Search for more provisions
B. Send more troops towards your drone scout in the woods
C. Explore up the mountain/along the river bank
D. Other
Other - research gunpowder
>KillPhil
We're at 8 workers a turn now, yes?
Send 5 support drones to the fork, and 3 to explore.
>NewOldFag
CLARIFICATION: Cocoons are at the dwarf hole, or to keep with the B theme, the Bunker. Also 27 are cocooned, not like 25 in the count
>OP
A
Search for provisions, specifically any type of small rodent or mammal that can be domesticated and farmed
>Wingy Boi
Gunpowder would help clear out the human village so this one
>Zero58
Fuck it, I like the idea.
>NewOldFag
Yes, + 8 Workers per turn
>OP
If 27 are cocoons how come we only get 4 soldiers?
>KillPhil
New unit type is spendy, I guess.
See
>OP
The hive begins to research gunpowder, using traces of it in the Bunker, left over from the dwarves, for example. They manage to equip the dwarven ballistae with exploding bolts! Meanwhile, the cocoons shed, giving you 3 new Scorpion soldiers (given dwarven metal armor) and a new unit- the Spider Matron, an eight-legged death machine. She can wield up to 2 human, elvish, dwarven, or orcish weapons at once (excluding ranged), has venomous mandibles, and can snarl enemies with webbing while in combat or as traps!
Count:
11 Winged Drones (Armored and winged insectoids with sharp mandibles)
4 Scorpion Soldiers (Six-Legged Scorpions armed with pincers and poisoned tails… Outfitted with metal dwarven armor.)
1 Spider Matron (Unarmored unit which can wield 2 melee weapons at a time, has poison, and can spin web traps or shoot webs in combat)
18 Ant Workers (Nearly defenseless being with a desire to labour)
2 Ant Queen (can produce asexually, spawns 4 new Ant workers per turn)
HIVES:
Bridge Hive: Reinforced hive at a bridge over the river, complete with spider tunnels leading around the banks of the river
Bunker Hive: Normal hive in the former dwarf hole, complete with Dwarven ballistae cannon with exploding bolts above the entrance for defense.
Provisions for 2 turns
OPTIONS:
A. Search for more provisions
B. Send more troops towards your drone scout in the woods
C. Explore up the mountain/along the river bank
D. Other
Also RIP me with captcha
We're low on provisions. Let's explore the river with an eye toward edibles.
Okay to make up for the worker losses breeding is now mandatory. Policy of maximum breeding possible.
So I'm saying C
>NewOldFag
Also heads up, Spider Matron costs 12 Worker
Ants + 1 turn to evolve
>OP
Pls add sigarino, also you get +8 per turn except on an evolution turn
>OP
I'm sceptical of anons claims of low provisions. I Demand a spreadsheet of our current and projected supplies before considering this
>KillPhil
A
Search for provisions. Again a more permanent source of food and also some sort of dwarves blade or blunt weapons for the spider matron
>Wingy Boi
He put it in the post. We have provisions for two turns.
Provisions for 2 more turns, -1 Provisions per turn. Random amounts of Provisions can be found through hunting or through combat of edible races (all except Undead)
>OP
He said we have 2 days provisions, dog. And we have no farms or other prov. income.
>NewOldFag
Fine lets do this
>KillPhil
Winged drones fan out across the river’s banks, hunting for more provisions. They discover waterfowl and small mammals (+4 provisions). However, further down the river to the East, on the Southern bank in the scrubland, 2 winged drones spy a graveyard. Investigating, they draw close. Graves have clearly been disturbed, and the only mausoleum in the graveyard’s door has been pried open, with a foul and dark energy emanating from it. However, no more is to be found outside.
Count:
11 Winged Drones (Armored and winged insectoids with sharp mandibles)
4 Scorpion Soldiers (Six-Legged Scorpions armed with pincers and poisoned tails… Outfitted with metal dwarven armor.)

C. Retreat back to the hives undetected
D. Other

Cautiously, the drones signal for the rest of the hive to follow to the site. Drones buzz towards the graveyard quickly, while the scorpion soldiers and the spider matron move along the bank more slowly. The drones approach the crypt, a foul odor emanating from within. They enter, and move down the stairs. The light is dim, and the air is thick and nauseating. Multiple bodies are strewn about, while red runes of some long-forgotten language cover the walls. In the center, a single hooded figure sits on a throne of bones. He tilts his head up and laughs. 20 fleshy zombies arise from the floor, and the man utters a spell. One drone is instantly blasted to pieces by a fireball, while the other one attempts to escape. Before he can, the door slams shut. Meanwhile the rest of the drones arrive while the others lag behind

Also, start up a new batch of drones from the 34 workers.
>NewOldFag
D negotiate a deal where undead get half of human clay for war ally.
>KillPhil
The drones who arrive wisely decide to wait for their brethren to arrive. They do in time, but as they do the door blasts open off its hinges, and zombies begin to pour out of the mausoleum, and line up in formation, 10 to each side of the crypt. The necromancer strolls out, and stands in his horde of the dead. He looks confused, then smiles knowingly. He nods to your spider matron, waiting on your move. Meanwhile, back at the hive, 39 worker ants cocoon, and will create 13 new winged drones next turn.

Seconded
>JustSomeGuy
The Spider Matron moves forward, gesturing that the insects are prepared for a fight, but are holding back. He speaks thus, “Hello winged friends. I believe we can do much for each other. The Elvish city of Brightflash is under siege by the human scourge from Agrekirk. Humans are weak, and do not worry me, but the Elves have hunted me until they were attacked. Together, we can crush the Elves, then the humans together. As a sign of peace, I offer you your brethren.” The winged drone trapped in the crypt emerges, covered in red runes. He opens his maw, and fire pours out brilliantly. “Friends?” he asks laughingly. Meanwhile, the winged drones hatch, and fly quickly toward you.

15 Armored Winged Drones (Armored and winged insectoids with sharp mandibles)
8 Winged drones (winged insectoids with sharp mandibles)

I guess B, we can use this guy to take out the humans and eat them, and then if we need/want to we can kill him and his horde and start a new have in the crypt.

This for tomorrow.
