Do you know what ARGs are? Basically like that.

Step 1) Make a made up backstory. Put yourself in the shoes of someone genuinely fucked up who wants people to find what she/he killed.
Step 2) Think of how to make a savenger hunt. How would you use pictures to grab people's attention? How would you bring a group of people to a place without directly posting a picture? How do you get people concerned or creeped out?
Step 3) Make pictures
Step 4) post that shit

I'd try posting pictures with weird questions like 'Would Vinegar and Baking soda clean blood off of counters?' and as people ask questions try to string them along without being edgy. Maybe even delete a few posts to pretend to get rid of evidence and your 'mistakes' after 'accidentally giving too much' if people get too worried. Then continue somewhere else. Basically how every gross Yea Forums screenshot thread works.
