Lovely, one vote for the Orcs clearly

Imperium of Man

Dope, someone is actually here. One vote for Men

I don't really like this because insects have 8 tech like they should have 0 lmfao

Why would anyone be anything but man

regardless, i'll cast a vote. elves

Yeah true but only at the beginning, planning to start them off as having wiped out a more tech based race like dwarves or humans if chosen

insects

i mean like think about starcraft. zerg don't have any mech units of course

OP here, now limiting voting options to Humans, Elves or Insects based on interest.

Elf votes Elfs.

I totally understand, but not my template and 2lazy2use MS Paint rn

One more vote and the Elves have it

>bump

I'm writing up the Elves now

>OP

A band of merry elves quietly and gracefully make their way through the brush of the Gellmar Forest, a vast expanse of magical trees and dense underbrush. Their spirits are high despite being forced from their homes by a band or marauding dwarves from the North. They head South through the forest, but set up camp as night falls. The Elves wake the next morning, looking to their leader for direction.

The Elves fan out, calling for their missing compatriot. They hear a scream in the woods not far ahead. As the warriors and sorceress run towards the distressed cries, they see a fire in the woods. As they draw closer, they spy a single Necromancer controlling a 8 fleshy zombies as they torture the Elftress! Your archers don’t have clear shot at the Necromancer, and you’re outnumbered.

One of your archers fires off an arrow into the woods, creating a loud noise as the arrow rips through the foliage. The Necromancer seems to notice, and sends 2 Zombies to search for the disturbance. Your aim is still not clear, but your odds are better now. The Elftress seems close to death, though, without your quick intervention.

You decide to full on assault the ghoulish camp. Arrow rip into the Undead, incapacitating two of them instantly. The Necromancer screeches in a foul ancient tongue, commanding the undead forward. Your sorceress whips up the fire in the middle of camp, setting another zombie aflame, and summons tree roots to snarl another two. The remaining zombie injures a warrior, but is felled by the Elves’ swords. The Necromancer stumbles, and falls back defeated, ducking into the underbrush and fleeing. You untie the female elf, and she is returned to your party.

COUNT:
4 Male Elvish Warriors (Superior Elven bows, brittle shortswords)
1 Wounded Elvish Warrior (recovers in two turns)
1 Female Elf Sorceress (Elemental and Nature Magic)
3 Elvish Females (Non-combatant)
1 Female Elvish Child
Provisions for 4 turns

OPTIONS:
A. Pursue the Necromancer, full force
B. Send One Warrior in pursuit
C. Send your Sorceress in pursuit
D. Return to camp
E. Other

E, can we use the wounded elf as a trap for the necromancer? Surely he will hang around to add an undead elf to his collection. My bet is that we can use him as bait and save him before he perishes. I don't want to pursue the necromancer at all, but I'm worried if we let him go he will raise a bigger force and thus a bigger threat

I vote D return - esp if they can create some kind of ward by the sorceress because that area is probably fucked by the necromancer, yeah?

Yeah this is smarter than What I said already.

So two for E

bumping some more

You plan a trap for the necromancer, leaving your injured compatriot wailing in the clearing as you wait in the underbrush, attempting to lure the Necromancer back to the scene of the battle. The air reeks of death from the gory bodies of the former Undead. Suddenly the bushes rustle. The two zombies that left the party earlier storm into the opposite side of the clearing, heading for the Elf! The Necromancer follows close behind, clearly enraged. Only one of your archers has a clear shot at your foes. If he shoots one of the Undead, the Elf may be able to defend himself, but if he shoots the Necromancer, it may be too late for your Elf friend.

See if the Sorceress can blind the necromancer. with some kind of bright flash.

WE need to slow this whole thing down a little bit to react better.

I like you, friend

>OP

Going with A, but with a hint of C, ya know? Like if we need to plink an undead off our wounded brother, then of course, but basically attack head on with a focus on the necro.

Thank you. If Necromancers are only out at night- they're fucked in a bright flash ala flashbang.

yeah you know what, I'm the guy who said A with a hint of C, I like this guy's idea

TY!

Before even your leader can react, the Sorceress lobs a bag of strange powder into the fire as your archers shoots down one of the Zombies. The clearing is enveloped in a bright light as the Necromancer screeches in pain. Your Elves charge forward, stabbing the remaining Zombie as he accosts the injured elf. He is saved. You surround the Necromancer as lays on the ground, defeated. You cannot understand his foul language, but he appears to be begging for mercy.

Nah I guess just A. Maybe beating him is how you create a nemesis.

Please do, just to keep track of votes

>OP

So that's two A.

>Vacant

For the record, I'm the guy who coined the elf bait idea and elected to agree with sorceress flash idea
:D

>Mondragon

Whom I am not.

>Vacant

Over the objection of your troops, your wise leader chooses to spare the Necromancer. He gets up, seemingly surprised. He dusts off his robes, and walks over to a strange rock formation near the edge of the clearing. Ancient Elvish runes glow red all over it, clearly from the Necromancer’s dark rituals. He howls, and the stone is covered in a black fog, which the Necromancer sucks in rapidly through his mouth. The runes go dark, then glow a bright shimmering blue. The Necromancer nods, and leaves the clearing without a word. The sorceress identifies it as an ancient Wood Elf enchanting Altar! You can now decide what to Enchant as the Sun rises.

A. Enchant your bows with Lightning Magic, which can cause chain reactions
B. Enchant your swords with Flames, making them less useless and shitty
C. Enchant the adolescent Elf girl, making her another sorceress.
D. Other

Frost boon for arrows to cause slow down.

>Vacant

Your bows are already OP, and nearly a guaranteed kill on but the largest of enemies

>OP

As much as I would love chaining some undead, we have an exclusively ranged party, and fire damage is strong vs. undead. I vote B, just to be safe. Also wait can we breed the elf girl yet? It might be good to have another member.

>Mondragon

Breed will be in the next series of options, more generalized as you set up camp here

>OP

Oh yeah. B

>Vacant

/breaking_character

Is this what D&D is like? I grew up in a really sheltered shitty redneck town and am moving to a big city to work as a software engineer lol. I love doing stuff like this and would love to play these kids of RP games IRL but never had the means

>Mondragon

Your sorceress collects the swords of your warriors, and places them on the altar. She chants in the ancient tongues, and the runes glow bright yellow, and with a flash, your swords are infused with the element of Fire, also increasing their general condition. You begin to set up camp in the clearing as the runes fade to the color of the surrounding stone.

This is like casual D&D where we vote rather than have a character for each of us and it's more guided by the homie playing dungeon master.

D

>Mondragon

No, these are Civ threads. D&D is focused around a party of individual characters. These threads used to have a community on Yea Forums. but we were purged to a forumotion site, where i was purged from by the furry menace.

>OP

>OP

E. Gang bang the sexy sorceress

As much as I would love to hear of the breeding of the adolescent elf (yeah I know), we are a party and thus majority must rule. Proper breeding requires energy! I change my vote to C for food

If we build a settlement first, does that accelerate breeding/raising time in any way? I feel like it should

2 of your Elf warriors fornicate with 2 of your females, impregnating them. They will give birth to a random gender in 3 turns. Plans to construct a settlement also commence, with the new village given the name Brightflash to commemorate your victory over the undead. Village will be complete in 5 turns.

I think B for making the sorceress more OP.

>Vacant

Sure, will speed up pregnancy and amount allowed to breed.

Does tech/magic research apply to whole civ or just single sorceress? if whole civ I vote B, otherwise C.

Research

> Hammer

Your sorceress begins to research the land around you, and befriends a few local conifers. The trees, like Ents, crawl over to your new settlement area and entrench themselves around the site. These trees can notify you of any visitors of your settlement, as well as use their roots to ensnarl approaching enemies. In exchange, they seek your protection, and may grow… displeased, if let attacked without defending them in turn. Village is built in 4 turns.
