I mean I kinda get it because this show has been around for like 10 years or some shit. But the writing was on the wall by Season 6 that it wasn't going to be as good as it was when it started. Granted, maybe not as terrible as season 7-8 turned out to be, but still.

Sinking has meanings other than being submerged. It has to do with investments and gambling.

The budget of the show has literally nothing to do with the writers being paid. They got hired and will be paid either way. It doesn't cost you a fucking penny to write plot lines that at least make sense.
