What are we looking at?
It's called wifi jim.
fag
why would some one willingly opt for wireless internet when they could be wired and have good speeds
I got a new mobo recently with inbuilt wifi.
Tested it out today and had the exact same speeds as wired so i'm gonna try it out for a while. Ethernet is still in place for the switch back but at least no more trip hazard.
you just did. gratz.
ethernet port is not like usb, you can't connect anything to an rj45 and expect it to work, you'll have to redo the whole protocol
also, your device is missing a board with some chips on it
Because common motherboards usually don't support PoE.
Speed isn't the issue, but rather the stability.
i wouldn't trust wireless long term. anything can have decent speeds but it's about steady reliability. i have never, in a decade and a half, had good luck with anything wifi related.
Then the bottleneck is your crappy Internet connection.
im using one right now dipshit
My router's on another story from my computer. Ten years ago it used to suck but wireless internet reliability has improved significantly since then, the difference between using a computer that's plugged in and one that's wireless is negligible for my setup.
How do you think your cellphone receives internet?
maybe your ass is transmitting gay signals at 2.4GHz
Or the inherient lossyness of any wireless connection.
it is a reality
i use one
under $20
better than your ass that transmits the aids because of all the blood and semen you take up it
cover it with something. it's not rocket science
microelectronics can deliver packaging that can be integrated entirely into the device OP posted, pic related
Bitch, i'm fabulous. You need 5GHz for my ass!
kek
oh.. brand new tech. Congrats!
Its not new... 5GHz for WiFi has been around sin 1999 with 802.11a and 2009 with 802.11n
Why do that when my internet's the same speed and reliability either way?
well, i've been around since 14400 modems and bbs so my ass is pretty old
woudn't mind getting my hands on one of those 5G butts though
So you can sit on it while you start threads?
Scalability without rewiring in enterprise
Yeah my internet isn't spectacular but i get 14.1MB/s (both wired and wireless) down tops and for me it's perfect.
As soon as i have any issues i'll be switching back to Ethernet.
Reliability is a real factor though if you don't shell out for high end routers, never had issues on eth in my life meanwhile wire less there are so metime s pro bl ems
why hasn't this been invented yet?
forgot pic
Well I have in the past decade only operated off WiFi for PC gamin and PS4. Never had any troubles at all...
>ethernet port is not like usb, you can't connect anything to an rj45 and expect it to work, you'll have to redo the whole protocol
>also, your device is missing a board with some chips on it
this
most ethernet ports, especially on laptops, dont even support PoE(power over ethernet) so they couldn't power this device, even if it had the required chips on it, hence why all wifi adapters are USB based, which provides enough power, and and channels for controller software to interface with the device.
photonic drives have been invented but
>mc^2 = e
and e is veeeery teeny for a flashlight, except over galactic timescales
>b-b-b-but wifi sucks
Get a good router faggots. I've seen over 300 down and 100 up wired but if you have shitty connection issues it's time to ditch the shit tier Belkin and get a chad Linksys with 4 antennas.
wired internet master race reporting in
i mean I agree but unfortunately we live in a time where normies think that WiFi = internet.
Seriously, when I moved into a rental apartment a couple of years ago I asked the landlady where the router was so I could plug in my cat5 cable and she looked at me like I was speaking another language.
I tried explaining that "plugging into the internet with a cord makes it run faster" but she was just confused and say "just use wifi lmao"
so... i had to deal with shitty 2mb/sec download speeds like a cuck the whole time I was renting that place.
moved out into another one and got gigabit fiber and havent looked back since.
Isn't it obvious? If you're wired only how are your neighbors going to potentially hack into your wireless and steal it from you? Talk about selfish...
Pitiful speed. 3rd world connection.
For the most part my wifi always worked well enough. The only time ive noticed any significant difference is when downloading large files. Security is the main reason to avoid wireless.
I've literally got one in my computer right now.
>no controller >no power> 8 wires which operate separately to the 4 in USB
>wireless sucks
The problem with wireless is that everytime you add a device to the network, you cut the speed by N^ of devices. So 2 devices is half speed, 4 is a quarter. Most wireless devices are N(300mbs) or G(54mbs) and run in mixed mode. Your router will only oporate at the speed of the slowest device connected. Nothing wrong with wireless immediately, but the more devices you have, and the older they are, the slower everything runs.
That means a wireless G with 3 devices (pc,phone, console) will run as slow as 12mbs, and that's at full bars. Each bar you lose, you also drop down in wavelength so there is less time. So that also works in powers. 1/5 bars with 3 devices is like 2mbs lol. That's where people get issues.
It's also why multi band wireless with like 2-6 antenna and wireless AC are booming right now, so that you don't have to split signals and bandwidth.
Well i already had my first drop so wireless is out. I could invest in a better router instead of the crappy one provided by my ISP but i'd rather just spend £6 on some cable clips and route the cable up and over the door frame to get rid of the tripping hazard and have Ethernet.
Yeah, wired really is the way to go if you can do it. Each device can talk at what ever speed it needs to and take what resources it needs too, vs splitting everything right down the middle whether its using it or not. That and you can mix 10gb and 100gb Ethernet and not only operate at a 10gb speed, which is still faster than all wireless lol.
