The simple version of it is that very orthodox/fundamentalist Jewish people believe that all people aside from themselves are "lesser" in the eyes of God, and that the Jewish people have been chosen to rule over the non-Jewish population and guide them towards God. I'm sure you can deduce why people wouldn't like a group of people with a superiority complex like that. Thankfully Orthodox/Fundamentalist Jews are a very small population of the Jewish community and that sort of thinking is less prevalent, but it is a basis of their religion.
