So... yeah. You literally can get a luxury phone (i.e. a high end iPhone) GIVEN TO YOU ON THE TAXPAYERS' DIME! I mean... what the actual fuck? Do you guys know how much those phones cost? Why the hell should a welfare rat dependent on handouts be GIVEN a luxury phone the rest of us might have to work for months to afford a down payment on?
The original idea behind the lifeline was to give a basic phone good for, basically, emergency calls (ergo, a lifeline) in an age where pay phone were being phased out due to obsolescence, which was totally market based and was a smart idea by the Bush administration to extend to mobile phones. It was bare basic, though, not a shred of luxury to it. it did its job. Now, because of communists, the lifeline has been turned into an alternative phone service provider that gives you the same luxury phones and service that is quite a bit more than a save-your-life provision, which just encourages the ghetto rats and other cucks to stay in their shitty existence with no incentive to move past it.

by the way, I happen to work for a company that has a lifeline department and I get a fucktonne of misdirected calls for lifelines. I've opened the profiles of a few and have seen them getting expensive luxury brand/model phones and are actually saying that they get these for free.... and well, I use "free" loosely, wince its MY taxes (and yours) paying for both their service and their expensive phones.
They are, not surprisingly, mostly entitled niggers.

actually, that was Bush that took Reagan's lifeline, which Clinton kept in place, and extended it to cell phones because of their emerging prominence and the correct prediction that they would render former personal telecommunications methods obsolete. Pay phone no longer exist except in a few far-between places and they are a mystery to kids these days.
thing is, under the Bush expansion of Lifeline, it was never meant to provide a $700= iPhone
or Samsung. It was meant to give you a cheap, but usable phone for emergency useage. it was not flashy, did not have luxury options, and was not meant to replace a real commercial phone plan. You could use it to help you get a job or place an emergency call where pay phones no longer exist. Then, you got off of it along with every other bit of welfare when you make too much money.

what are you implying? To be fairer than I should be, socialists are actually rare and have no poltical sway. Socialism requires nationalization, which no major party is actually pushing for. And honestly, both Republicans and Democrats want the same size government, but want it concentrated in different places: Republicans want authoritarian government in the social sector (ie. the moral police, few business and economic regulations) and the Democrats want it in the Economic and business sector (with few moral regulations apart from gun control).
Libertarians want nearly no government at all and think corporations can govern better in most cases. The market works as a better regulator and the efficiency of large businesses works better than any government. therefore, the libertarian route is smarter.

To be fair, We didn't like Obamacare when it was still Romneycare and the Heritage Foundation was almost made a political pariah for their original suggestion of the system. Obama basically took Romeny's version, liberal'd it up with more regulations on the Insurers than the source of Insurance cost with no public fallback option (which is why costs soared rapidly. he and his monkeyed up the healthcare market without understanding how it works).
The Lifeline thing was mainly a bush thing, but it existed under Clinton in a landline-centric form. It wasn't reagan that started that one. i stand corrected. it was Clinton. Bush later made it work for cell phones. Obama allowed luxury phones and better service to be available to welfare queens, though, which is why his name is now smeared all over it.
