Merchant is pretty nice.
Picross is good. I have gone through 6 or 8 different picross games, very nice and relaxing. Konami's won't run on my toaster of a phone, though.

there are a couple.
90% of the good games to play on mobile are emulated NES/SNES/Gameboy/Sega games.
Just download an everything-emulator like Retroarch and then torrent a "every nintendo .rom" pack from somewhere.

That's literally about it. Everything else requires you to be online (wasting your data), uses up too much storage space or is "buy more gems, my lord" bullcrap.
There are some other games but they never lasted more than 30min as some sort of "meh cool gimmick" but no staying power.
The above I've had installed for like 6 years and I still play them all regularly.

azure lane is pretty bullshit but for the most part GF doesn't actually try to coerce you to pay for shit unless your luck is terrible, you're terrible at managing resources, or you really want a costume.
plus it's a decent, if a little shallow, strategy game
