What do you think about homeless people?

If they want to overcome a genuine problem that can be monitored and helped through a social program, then here take some money. If you’re choosing to live this way and are begging to live on my dime then nah I’m good. Btw have you seen how bad Vancouver’s skid row is?

I live in the UK and for most part they're a fucking parasite on society. In Birmingham, where I live, they DO NOT leave you the fuck alone, give out sob stories or try to start a chat like they know you before asking for money, I gave one change one time (about 70p or so, was all I had) and he started getting arsy with me because it wasn't much. Window washers will start washing your car windscreen with a dirty piece of newspaper, fucking it up then asking for money, I've had to beep my horn and drive my car a bit at them to get them to fuck off after clearly saying no. My friend goes through shit with them on a daily basis, she does nothing wrong just home from work but they'll try and compliment her for money or just be general creeps on her, she's really starting to struggle going through town with it.

Recently I went back to Aus - Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sydney and the homeless there seemed way WAY more polite. They didnt follow me around, or acost me, they kept to themselves and when they went to wash my car windscreen they;d have proper bucket and cloth and listen to me when I said no, they seemed way more chill.

After than I went to Europe where they were more trampy again, but they just kept their head on the floor, I thought they were praying at first, but they seem to have shame that they are homeless and just lay there with their hands out just hoping for some money and it was way more humble of them to do so and I hope something works out for them for that reason.

tl;dr - homeless people in the UK should be sent into a meat grinder and fed to other homeless people

I was addicted to opiates and speed AND homeless. I work a decent job to where I can afford to buy frivolous things like $1200 fishing reels and 4x4 trucks. Point is bums like the charity and are lazy. Except the crazy ones. They're fucked.

It's not the government's place to provide a living for people. It's their own responsibility. There are also charities for those who cannot provide for themselves.

If it is important, people will voluntarily pay for it.

If someone is unwilling to earn a living, that person should live with their own consequences.

If a person is unable to earn a living, there are other options (see again charities, also consider family, friends, etc.).

yeah I think you really narrowed it down when you focused on the shame aspect. Here on the west coast of the US, the shame aspect is simply not there either. If you even try to criticize the homeless here from a city council standpoint, the locals will organize and say that you are threatening someone's lifestyle, as if standing in an open city block shooting dope is a lifestyle in of itself.

Im not saying that if youre homeless you should be ashamed of your life, but at the very least you should realize that you are not pulling your weight and should not expect any kind of accomodation to be made for you. Anything you get, you should thank the personal grace of those around you, not the institution.

Instead you get people walking around looking like total shit and trying to intimidate people with the mindset of, So what if I shoot dope and methamphetamine into my cock every 2-3 hours? I still deserve every single amenity that every other one of you has!

I understand that addiction and drugs etc are a problem these people, and if you get a couple of pounds dollars you can't do much with it BUT it can buy drugs and alcohol to phase the time away buuuuut it's not gonna solve the problem. I think a lot of people just surrender to this lifestyle and they're never going to improve, but the woman who does my hair used to be homeless and now owns a small buisiness and a villa in Goa (super hippy lady).

On the subject of virtue signalling there was a homeless guy who died a few years back and when he did all the fucking facebook people were OH HE WAS SO LOVELY, HE WAS JUST KIND, ITS SO SAD THIS HAPPENS, but the guy was a total asshole who'd do the 'hi im being friendly can i have money' and was buying heroin and shit and obv died. Then people donated about £4K for his funeral ... why? Then a guy wrote an article saying end of the day the guy was a bum and we shouldn't praise him or give him any money and of course he was slated by people saying he had no heart and all that shit - but he wasnt wrong. Why donate £4K to a useless bum who died?
