Don't take chances. If you wanna keep it around because you like the smell then fine but don't eat it for fucks sake you'll get a bacterial infection in your digestive system and be bedbound for anywhere from a single day to a few weeks. Also if you insist on keeping it around for the smell then keep close tabs on it to make sure it doesn't mold because if it does then breathing its smell can give you a fungal infection in your lungs which will greatly reduce your energy and make you feel lethargic and possibly have negative neuropsychological effects (e.g paranoia or depression or even eating disorders) until you get rid of the source of the spores after which point the infection will resolve quickly because your lungs are good at keeping themselves clean.
