Return of the living dead is a must

The op asked for a good zombie movie though.
Having seen that, I can positively say that it isn't good.
It's sort of hamfisted in its message and the characters in it aren't really written all that well.

really... I enjoyed it. but I'll consider your thoughts on it. got any specific examples of what you didn't like about it?

yes sire

R.E.C. 1 and 2, the original Spanish versions, not the American remake. It loses some of the nuance and tension of the original to make it more action orientated.

28 Days Later and its sequel are the only ones I've really enjoyed. And Evil Dead if you count that, but those aren't necessarily zombies.

Shaun of the Dead

>9gag

World war z by far best zombie movie

Cell. Crazy techno-zombie plot. Very interesting.

It might just be bias on my part.
The movie makes an attempt at pointing to the problems of the human condition and kind of gets to the conclusion that we should all die and leave the planet for a new sort of sentience to take over.
The trained zombie kids and how the soldiers react to them, is kind of a poor allegory about not othering or demonizing people who are different from you, only to screw up the point by having the protagonist take the actions that she does at the end of the movie.
In my mind she proved their exaggerated aversion to her and the other kids to be not only valid, but logical in the face of those actions. Yet she is clearly set up to be considered the hero we empathize with in spite of that.
Aside from that the characters are sort of shallow and in my opinion kinda cookie cutter in their behavior.
To me the protagonist is just sort of a mary sue villain dressed in the trappings of a hero.

Pontypool is a fun one. It's a different take on zombies than I've seen before but it's great and very compelling. 9/10 for sure.

So am I talking out of my ass here or do you see my point?

Black Summer (Netflix series). Very well-made and with a nice focus on the struggles of different "normal" people among the mess.

Just watched the trailer, that looks pretty dope. I need to look into more Korean and Japanese movies, western movies are nothing but kike propaganda anymore.

Cargo is also fun and original. I'd recommend them both if you want something that isn't Dawn of the Dead/The Walking Dead.

They both have interesting takes on zombies and the way society responds to them.

Have a crack at Wyrmwood user, a bit of Aussie left field.
