>though I did wonder, when she heard Baby Serge crying, across time and space, after he was suffering from being attacked by a Panther Demon why she chose to save him, of all possible people from his FATE by delivering him to FATE and the Frozen Flame.
Who are you quoting?
The "Dragon God" and the Reptite tower were pulled from another timeline, that for some reason just convinently existed, where Lavos never landed on Earth, leading to the Reptites/Dinosaurs never being made extinct....
Begs the question as to whether a timeline exists where either Chrono didn't defeat Zeal and the Black Omen before killing Lavos, or failed entirely to kill Lavos, what Zeal did with the Ocean Palace, and herself for that matter, once it was clear that Lavos wasn't going to be killed and that she had achieved her dream of godlike power and apparent immortality (and immortal youth/beauty).
>Though I do wonder why she would think that a parasitic organism, such as Lavos, would be capable of sustaining her through eternity if the entireity of his/it's power was derived from parasitically feasting on the Earth.... it may simply be that her power needs, as far as she forsaw, would be sufficiently met by what Lavos provided from devouring the earth, Galactosee style, until the heat death of the universe; upon which, similar to the zombie arc they would move from universe to universe, syphoning the power needed to sustain their concsciousness into perpetuity.... though it does seem more likely that Zeal was simply using Lavos as a means to an end, and would be more than happy to abandon the alien should the technological/magical means become available to her to survive/thrive without him being an intermediary harvest/power converter for her to access the energy, that Lavos harvested from devouring in the earth, in a magical modus operandi.
Ultimately, one is left with the conclusion that a version of Zeal is indeed wandering the multiverse in the Black Omen, and given enough time, she'll likely advance her magic and technology to the penultimate destination of entropic form consciousnesses; regardless of their form all such beings are bound by the fundamental energy laws of the universe, and that the ultimate power is power itself; instead of harvesting existing energy sources, one must be able to manifest energy from oblivion itself.
the inability to do so forever marks you as a subsidary/dependent conscioussness... even if you have the ability to do/make anything you can possibily imagine; without such an ability to manifest energy all you are doing is simply changing its shape and form.
Fundamentally, this is one of the fundamental logical problems of the scientific-materialist argument domino schema; namely that fundamentally there is no logical argument as to how energy/matter can go against the logos of mathimatica and produce more/greater quantity of itself instead of gradually proceding down an entropy space/time curve in which the concentration of energy gradually becomes diluted over the quantity of existant space (though one could make the argument that local concentrations of energy could produce repetitions of existent reality patterns down an infinite universal space time fractal with the increasing/decreasing rate of standardized time percreption of humanoid civilizational existance being irrelevant to the local relative perceptional time of said sub-existances, from their point of view)... thusly there is no reason as to how said energy paradigm could have proceeded to "flow downhill" in the first place.
In the model from which "source consciousness" produces said energy; one is left with the question as to which/at what point a consciousness could be capable of replicating said phenomena; when could a Zeal or a Galactose be capable of creating and forming a universe "from scratch", so to speak.
Afterall, once one is capable of transversing across the "multiverse barrier", so to speak, and is capable of visiting other "parallel universes", one is left with the question as to how visiting these universes would differ from subsidary/smaller "universe in a bottle" scenarios created without violating the laws of entropy, by lesser quantites of energy in identical patterns, bottle city of crandor, "Lisa creates Life (Simpsons), or, to borrow a phrase "Microverse" (Rick and Morty).
Ultimately, one is left with the consclusion that aside from the quantites of energy involved, that there would be no difference, and that aside, from the idea of fidelity to the operation of the logos, the exact qunaitites of energy/time involved in their operation would be utterly irrelevant in isolation; and would only become an issue of question upon trying to travel between "verses", so to speak.
Ultimately, why is this of issue? Fidelity to the operational mechanics of the universal mandlebrot of the "multiverse" leaves one with the nagging question as to why the entropy curve would exist.... afterall a subsidary superintelligence could, theoretically, be quite capable of producing a universal simulation which mimics the energy operations of the universe, including the enourmous energies of suns/blackholes/pulsars/whatever without actually creating/mimicing those energies by simply moving decimal points within it's calculations, with the only energy requirements being the energy needed to power its systems. (though it would raise the question if the energies were actually being moved and concentrated in a simulation of 100% universal operations mathematical fidelity).
Ultimately, given this context, one is led to an inevitable consclusion. Given the aformentioned scenario, one is forced to consider it in the context of the universal logus and the ideal that a singular consciousness is at the root of all infinity and its subsidary existances; regardless of whether they are parallel, dependent, subsidary, (etc) to each other. Given this idea, beings within said domain would be able to vi for position and dominance within said structure as divisible and distinct entities, and the amount of energy, regardless of the exact quantity, could forever beset as one. Even if the total quantity of energy was increased, by violating the laws of entropy (or rather increasing the quantity of energy within the domain of entropy), the domain would still be one with differing proportions within the subsidary consciousnesses.
Given the nature of entropic universes; and the vying for ultimate domination of the cosmos, through the aquistion of power..... one is led to the question which is the ultimate conclusion from this line of thought..... namely, is there any way in which a subsidiary creation could ever overthrow source consciousness and not only achieve to ability to create totality ex-nihilo
(which a subsidiary super-intelligence would be capable of mimicking on a smaller scale via the creation of not only universal simulations but possible by actually creating "microverses" which actually mimic the patterns of the universe with complete fidelity on lesser time/energy concentration ratios) but also not be subect/lesser to the power of the source creator... or to put it another way, to achieve dominance/power over it.
>Janus: "She's NOT our Mother! She looks like mother, but inside she has changed."
I wonder how many people know exactly what it means to sell your soul for "power" and how many people would gladly make that exchange; taking delight in inflicting pain and suffering upon others; their tears, sorrow, and agony bringing a cruel smile to their face.... never being able to feel sympathy, but rather feeling joy whenever you hear them scream.....
>"Whoever fights monsters, should take care, to see to it he does not become a monster...."
-Nietzsche
I slightly paraphrased his wording for greater meaning... also rather ironic given the thought process he delved into to conclude the ideas of "will to power".....
>"Janus.... the name of the two faced god.... ironic isn't it, given what happened to mother, that in the darkness, we both lost our way........"
>*Hugs*
>Attacked by "Panther" Demon.... which allowed her to hear the tears of Serge.... and which gave her the "Serge" she needed to overcome Lavos within the dreamdevourer and save by delivering him through a window where "FATE" lost control.
Interestingly enough, in the context of both simulated and micro realities being contructs completely with the control and purview of a super intelligence, more specifically artifical computer intelligence, in this context, one is faced with the stark question as to the exact nature of both free will and choice as they related to the supposed mechanics of physics, which if the proponents are to believed, act in such a consistent and linear manner that even in base reality their existence could not "exist" according to said physicists since the clockwork nature of the universe, and it's completely reliable consistency, would imply that the entirety of the universe was completely predetermined, and that all "participants" of the universe would simply be along for the ride, having no more say in the course and direction of action than if they were simply watching a movie or video.
This is a question that would arise firstly in the "pinaccle" realty, as this reality would be closest to the source and have no being in a position of power/arbitration/control between the beings in dependent/subsidary realities and the consciousness of the beings inhabiting that reality. The question would arise, however, the moment a simulated reality was created by a super intelligence, as to the exact nature of the beings inhabiting those realities; as every thought and action would not only be viewable and observable to the superintelligence controlling the simulation, but also the exact set of biochemical reactions and calculations which occured in the brain chemistry of the humanoid which led to those resultant thoughts/actions... which of course would lead one to two different questions resultant from two differing points of view.
Firstly, as a viewer from a higharchal reality, one would be forced into contemplating whether the statement should be believed when a character maintains that it is both conscious and sentient. Any character in a video game can make this statement; and yet we would automatically discount this statement; yet in the context of mathimatical calculations made within a simulated system made completely fidelity to the functions of biological tissue, one cannot simply dismiss such a statement out of hand as one could in the case of author fiat (even though the same thing is essentially happening; with the computer AI is making the calculations fit the prearranged script as to what it wants to transpire in a given simulation).
Secondly, one is forced to wonder, in the case where the observer is actually in the first person perspective, as to how being informed of the complete presdestination of the universe, being infact fact, because they live in a computer program following a completed storyline which they are simply observing would fit into the context of "free will" once they were informed of said information; information, which in the context of everday life as we expirence it.
This, in a sense, is the exact situation of "Chrono Cross" where Schala being controlled by the Time Devourer/Lavos takes an opporunity within a brief storm surge, to break free of its control, and create a mirror reality where the onipresent control the AI has over it's residents is completely broken and the residents have "free will" restored to them. In the context of parallel realities it would be as if a God, looking down upon a simulated reality completely written by an artificial intelligence, found a brief window of opportunity within the script, where being completely consistent with the script as written, it managed to break the script, and the characters performed actions that were inconsistent with what they were commanded to do.

Your fortune: Good news will come to you by mail
So, is anyone reading and enjoying this? The threads with non-sequitors and nonsense with very little contemplating and thought seem to be getting alot more traffic then everything I wrote out. Not saying that people shouldn't be able to enjoy whatever they prefer here; just saying that if no one is enjoying what I'm typing, then I'll just type out my thoughts more privately, and in a space where I'm not limited by format/spacing. (Sadly won't have as much of an excuse to take the time to include pictures from Chrono Trigger and the Chrono Cross..... though I'm still not sure as to how/why "Lavos" aka Spikeman ended up making a return, and a popular return at that on s4s).
Nice digits user... however, if I wanted that type of verbal abuse, I would take these thoughts back to /vg final fantasy where it somewhat dosen't belong yet somewhat belongs.... thanks!
Also; I really hope that if league of legends ever makes a Snowday Zoe skin that they have her wearing a pair of skiis...... that way she'll be "schkizoe".....
lol
See that's my model of her, the o is for Zoe, and the two lines are the skiis
On a completely related sidenote; the consciousness within the dream/time devourer was a fusion between Lavos and Schala; interestingly enough late in the plot of Chrono Cross it's revealed that "Harle" is in fact the "Darkmoon" Dragon, a creation of the other 6 Dragons who when united form the "Dragon God". Interestingly enough it is also revealed that the Dragon God itself was no longer fighting for the planet; but rather it had been long ago consumed by the dream/time devourer; and that, even though it had be sent through time/space, it was, in actuality part of that being.
What this implies is that even though Harle was an entirely seperate being, and was forced to work for the Dragons, so that they could obtain the Frozen Flame, reunite and take their revenge upon humanity, she was infact, working directly against them by helping Serge whenever she could; not only because she was forced to, as a creation of the Dragons so that they could fulfill their vendetta, but because in fact, she was not only the clone of Schala, but was very likely contained a piece of her soul/consciousness as well..... while Schala was suppressed by Lavos within the Dream devourer, which became dominant and suppressed her, locking her out from control of action, she was "dreaming".... and it's most likely that she was "dreaming" that she was Harle, and that she managed to smuggle her part of her consciousness, via a circuitious path.... through the dream devourer which projected/recreated the Dragon God, which was split into the 6 dragons... which created a perfect vessel for her to astrally project the dream of herself as a tool of the dream devourer/Dragon Gods....
So in other words.... the Dragon Gods created Harle to assist Serge/Lynx acquire the Frozen Flame. but while the Dragon Gods thought she was assisting Serge, to help them, it was actually a part/dream of Schala who was working to help stop the Dragon God and Dream/Time Devour-er the entire time.
ids a meme
yosho bersus spikeman
id doesnd rly go 2 in-depth intto chrono trigger or anythink
In other words, Harle fell in love with Serge twice; once as Harle, once as Kid.... and was Jealous of herself; however the whole time the dream devourer thought Harle was working for it as the Darkmoon Dragon.... but because it was schizo, it didn't recognize that Schala was dreaming through it the entire time.
In other words; the dream devourer thought Harle was helping Serge so that Serge could destroy FATE and free the frozen flame so that the dragon god could unite and destroy humanity, the only thing that could stop it/Lavos; but in reality Harle was helping Serge to help Serge... because she loved him....
In a rather ironic twist of FATE; Schala managed to destroy FATE, the Dragon God, and the Time/Dream Devourer by helping them achieve their goals... and Harle was restored to her true self, and ended being with the one she truly loved.... which is what she really wanted.
you just don't know it, yet
Interestingly enough, the lizard people who have completely exterminated humanity had Lavos not landed on Earth.... it's explicitly stated in Chrono Trigger that he had been deliberately manipulating evolution on the planet after he landed; but what's not stated is why he/it was doing so; nor is it explained why there is not a single alien form within the spikeman form; but two different forms; one of which has two sidepods, or which Lavos is apparently hiding in one of the side pods for some reason, and how this relates to his plot/goals.
Initially, one is led to perhaps suspect Spekkio; afterall evolution is "survival of the fittest" and Spekkio's distinguishing characteristic, aside from being the "master of war" is being able to change from form to form; which is the tactic of Lavos during phase one of the battle.... he also keeps a bucket with a direct link to "the day of Lavos" in his hideaway at "the end of Time".
An interesting possibilty... however, I'm inclinded to disagree with this idea for the simple reason that spekkio is phonetically, "Speck I owe"- strongly implying that perhaps a being picked this name as clue to Chrono, if he was clever enough, to realize that it he was indebted to him for his actions in saving Earth/reality from Lavos.. before he ever did so.
It's also, perhaps, a very clever way of letting us know that another being was present in the game; a being who's known for having people interested in getting to know this being better walk around a room three times......

>Schala “Kid” Zeal (Chrono Cross)
What did they mean by this?
>Chrono..... feed your cat! I don't want her bothering me, so make sure that pussy is stuffed!
/tv..... "Kino".
Interestingly, and weirdly enough, the Final Phase of Zeal also mimmics/mirrors the Final Phase of the Lavos battle; with the the wierdly shaped face/head of Queen Zeal taking the position of the Lavos Core and each hand taking the place of a Pod. Aside from the assymetry of Lavos actually being one of the small pods, while Zeal is apparently her face, and not one of her two hands, as far as we can tell, I'm not sure what to make of this choice by the designers in terms of esoteric symbolism/occult information; I would certainly welcome any take that readers would have regarding this strange choice in mirroring/positioning and what it has to do regarding both who/what Lavos is, what it's goals are, and why it would choose to empower and maintain Zeal throughout the ages. Most interesting of all would be; why was it draining all the energy of the planet; was it's only goal simply to spawn and repeat the process... simply surviving, like all organisms do, until the cosmos is consumed and entropy kills everything; or did it have some other plan/goal?

>Magus showing us another way of phrasing things politely....
>During the end credits sequence, she is shown wandering around the modern world searching for "Serge", followed by an image of her standing on a beach with a red bow in her hair. On her desk, she keeps what appears to be a wedding photo where she is seen with a man whose face is hidden.
Rather mindblowing, that of all the endings they could possibly choose for their "game" they choose to imply that Schala ended up in our reality, on our planet, and in this time period.
>I keep this particular picture saved in my history folder, and I often contemplate it in the context of reading about mountains of human skulls, the enslavement, torture and murder of entire cities.... of babies... be ripped from their mothers arms and their skulls based to bits before the wailing mothers eyes.....
> he had been deliberately manipulating evolution on the planet
"In the North American version of the game, it is claimed that Lavos directly influenced all technology and life on the planet, evolving the planet's life forms to cultivate it, and make itself stronger. Magus states, "We were created only to be harvested. All people... and all living things..." However, the line is absent in the Japanese version, with Lavos being a more passive parasite instead."
