I found out today via blood work results that I have high cholesterol, needless to say I wasn't too happy about it. So I decided I'm gonna start working out again. Any other advice I should know? I haven't worked out in 3 years. What I'm mainly wondering is what I should/shouldn't eat. I already don't eat stuff with a lot of sugar. I do smoke cigarettes, also drink 3-4 times a week so planning to quit the smoking and cut back the drinking. What else is there? I'm 27 years old

Nice, thanks so much for the link. Now off you go kiddo.

High cholesterol here too, user but I don’t drink or smoke (obviously quit that). I keep it in check with 3 day water fasts a week plus eating a ton of meat/veggies and few other carbohydrates. I drink a shit ton of energy drinks (aspartame ones) but also a ton of water. I swear it’s 99% the fasting though. Not that trendy intermittent shit. Full 3+ days of nothing but water.
Take it slow and try whatever you’re willing to commit to but don’t do everything at once.

I'm definitely concerned, but it's annoying because I really don't want to work out again. But the smoking has to stop for sure.

cut down on your cholesterol intake. less meat and eggs. either less per portion, or fewer portions of meats.

more thai/indian cuisine could help too.

especially days before another blood test.

How?

If your doctor says to work out then maybe follow that suggestion. Just saying I eat alright while pounding energy drinks and haven’t worked out in over 10 years beyond walking. Cholesterol still in check though. Water fasts, Yea Forumsro.

Make sure your carbs are either whole grain (oats are best) or vegetables. No junk or bleached food. Add omega-3,6,9 from flax. Watch your weight. Don't need a full workout regimen, I did it with just a couple of miles walking 2-3 times a week.
Worked for me.

I'd like to avoid fasting if I can. I dunno, I guess working out again wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. It's just annoying that I'm this much of an unhealthy piece of shit.

Go on a whole food plant based diet. Only animal products contain dietary cholesterol, so cutting out meat and dairy entirely is the fastest way to get your cholesterol normal. Look up forks over knives if you need help getting started.

You don't eat stuff with sugar?
You are going to cut back the drinking?
You are one dumb fat fuck.

OP, fish oil pills will help bring down cholesterol. I tested high three months ago and started taking 1000mg fish oil pills (get the non burping ones) and it has helped a ton.

Ironic you call anyone else dumb when your post is the definition of dumb nonsense

Who fucking cares man?

You only need to workout for ~15 minutes 3x a week. Then do some pushups or something for just a few minutes other days.

If you drink and smoke you are fucked. You get a choice in life, build a retirement account or smoke and drink. If you choose the latter you won't need the former. You will be dead before 60.

I'm getting the impression that I have to stop eating meat and stick to chicken and fish, which really fucking sucks. I guess it is what it is though.
I started taking omega 3 pills a few weeks ago, but I haven't really noticed that much of a difference so far, except for maybe a slightly better mood.
Obviously you do, fag

I know it's so bad. Once I finish this pack I'm not smoking anymore cigarettes.

Just remember to eat healthy user.

>High cholesterol
>at 27

man...cut down the fried stuff...jesus....
do a lot of cardio and HIIT (high intensity interval training) in your training
replace drinking beer with natural juice (orange, lemon, simple stuff, not 35 mixed fruits nonsense from the store)
in 1 year you will be great

I'll try, thanks
I use to be in great shape, so I know how to work out and what not. I just don't really have the "desire", if that makes sense, but obviously I'm gonna have to work out now.

Cutting red meat is a step in the right direction. Cutting out chicken, fish, and dairy will really get you back to normal. Its a hard adjustment if you've never considered it before but it'll help your health long term.

>stop eating meat and stick to chicken and fish
I eat red meat 2-3 times a week. Cut back maybe, but no reason to cut it out.
>omega 3 pills
You want all three omegas, (3, 6, 9). And get it from flax, not fish oil. You can buy omega-3,6,9 from flax online.

More important is getting your carbs from whole grain (oats are best) and veg. only, as this helps keep the arteries clear. And exercise for at least 15 minutes 3x a week. That's the absolute minimum, so make it a good workout (very fast walk at least).
