It's a testing facility. Seriously. If you believe in God, how is God to know what is in you if He doesn't put you in a place where He tells you what He considers right and wrong, and lets you decide if you're going to do evil or put your will above His.
Those that pass, move on to the next level, be it heaven or whatever you believe in.
If I'm wrong, my assessment is utopia is impossible and immoral. Why? Because everyone is an angel in paradise. You can only what's in you if you're tempted or weak to things. If you need things. How do you go about acquiring those things. How you treat others who are in better or worse conditions than you. Etc.
