It states that certain cases may be missing from the list, but it also says that there are 30-50 fatal dog attack per year in the US. If you count the table you'll see that it matches that, which means it coitains at least a large majority of all fatal attacks. Even if not all are in there it is still a valid source because it is far above the statistical noise.

The bulldog in this picture HATES pit bulls. I have had to break up a few fights between him and some of the pits around us, and can say with absolute certainty that he would have killed each of those dogs if I hadn't stopped it. I read one once where a little girl and her mom was mauled to death by 1 or 2 pit bulls (was years ago) and it was a horrific story, and another where a pit bull bit and killed a baby, and in both cases the owners expressed sympathy for the pit bull and didn't want it to be put down. In the first case, the boyfriend said something along the lines of "she's a good dog, something must have happened" and in the other someone said something like "this was a terrible accident."
