then click options>content>fonts and colors>advanced>Sans-serif
changing sans serif will change the font type for s4s
Color options are just below the advanced settings
Download "Love LetterTW" for the Lain Font

found a way around it if you use a separate browser the changes do not apply. having one browser for Yea Forums, and another for basic internet stuff.
kind of clunky option, but it works.
Also if you go into options under "Ease of access" and select "High contrast settings" you get a more seamless integration of colors

the cascading style sheet does little more than change the appearance of the site in most cases, it rarely adds functionality, so qualitatively speaking they are both cosmetic changes.
this is a simple way to change the appearance without having to install a custom css (not that it's hard, just takes time to go and find a good one etc. and mos people don't have time or patience for that
