you can buy reagent test kits online for like $10. you cut off a small piece of the tab, place it onto a clean glass dish, and drip a drop of the reagent onto it and the liquid will change color depending on the substance. ehrlich turns a purpleish pink if exposed to lysergamides but doesn't react to NBOMEs or DOs. read the guide that comes with them, they're quite corrosive. that said, they're not entirely foolproof and an able chemist could easily adulterate the tabs to fool a reagent test and they only indicate the presence of a compound (i.e. LSD) rather than the absence of anything (although most unusual, if a blotter is LSD 99.5% of the time it's just LSD even if sometimes somewhat poorly synthed LSD) else so the only true way to know what you're taking if to send it to a lab for analysis. still, reagent tests are better than nothing. happy travels user.

Part of the problem are these adulterants you speak of. People putting just enough actual LSD to fool an Ehrlich reagent test and as long as it glows under UV light people will assume it's good. I don't know about other additives like datura or belladonna, but 25I contains a halogen. Could the iodine in 25i react with a red phosphorus match dipped in an aqueous medium extract of the tab? Maybe a soda with phosphoric acid to react in a distinguished way?

seems like way more effort than it's worth as an experiment to rule out the possibility of contaminants against throwing a sample in a mass spectrometer but maybe I'm lazy. LSD analogues turn different colors with different reagents in the typical kit, for instance 25i-nbome olive green with marquis, which is why reagent vendors are very firm in advising people to use multiple tests. personally I buy my LSD from reputable manufacturers on the darknet with periodic third party lab tests and run a couple of reagents anyway just for the lols and then I swallow it, stop worrying and enjoy my trip :)

Yeah generally most of the L on the DN is good. Learn from me and never order cheap, I got fucked hard. No idea what it ultimately was but it doesn't matter now. Once you fuck up it's over. Didn't want to order an Ehrlich reagent because liquid in the mail wigged me out. Paying DN prices for anonymous Ehrlich reagent was retarded, sure as shit didn't want to clearnet that shit. There really should be a new way by now to deduce if it's LSD and only LSD using store bought or household items with a bit of chem for the average consumer.

So what is the best way for an amateur chemist to add a substituted group to an amide? Let's say I have a carboxylic acid I wish to replace a hydrogen with on LSA, what would be the best way to do that? Can I just take dry seed matter, pour HCL on it, let it sit for awhile, add potassium salt of carboxylic acid which would neutralize the HCL, and add tartaric acid to form tartrate salt of compound which I could use blacklight to tell flourescent salts from non flourescent salts (KCL is harmless in small amounts anyway) once dehydrated?

Bluelight is the closest to having an answer. However I would rather not get banned for posting "dumb shit, read a book". Erowid has a link to lysergamide synthesis from a rhodium archive but the only feasible one is the professor buzz synth which require KOH, methanol, nitrogen gas, and heat/cold to reduce the amide to lysergic acid. This can be combined an amine to create the corresponding amide, but I'm not adding an amine. Substituting an amine hydrogen with a carboxylic acid would create an amide anyway so that wouldn't work. Shroomery won't post it, they usually say "leave it to the professionals" and only talk about shrooms. Although there is an LSA bioreactor thread and another thread that talked about the origins of LSA and best methods of extraction. I'm after substituted lysergamides however.

Just make sure you do your research online; go to erowid, psychonauts and other reputable websites and learn about "set", "setting" and how headspaces work so you have a good trip and avoid a bad one.

Shrooms are a 5 or 6 hour trip all up (depending how much you take). LSD is a 10 or 12 hour trip. You wont be able to sleep while you're tripping so you need to be prepared and know what to expect.
it's fun though, at lower doses both are like being stoned on strong edibles (especially shrooms). at regular/higher doses it can be a positively life changing and awesome experience

acid glows blue under UV lights (not 100% surefire way to check but pretty reliable)
also the "if it's bitter, it's a spitter" trick. real LSD should taste like nothing and just make your tongue slightly numb. if it's a revolting bitter taste just spit it out.
also you can get test kits online for like $20.

regardless, you should ALWAYS get in the habit of just testing a half-tab of a fresh batch of tabs/acid just so you can A) be sure it's acid and B) check the potency of the tabs.
you dont want to drop 2 tabs assuming they're the usual 80~100ug and find out they're 150ug tabs or they're some potent research chemical.

Shrooms if I only have time for the shorter trip. I usually save shrooms for small doses... like just a cap or half a pellet (sometimes it's ground up and put in pellet form) to spice up a friday night.
Acid I save for when I want to enjoy a good long trip, especially if I can go /out/ for it like camping with a friend somewhere remote.
