its normal when you smash your toe. the nail will eventually decay, you'll have to rip it off which is very painful but then another one will grow in. the whole process takes about a month

My not-a-doctor advice is to lance it with a sterile needle/ sharp blade to relieve the pressure, which will help with the pain, then keep it clean so it doesn't get infected.
If it gets infected, you could loose the toe.

OP here is what you do:
Pussy way: take a small drill bit and with your fingers slowly rotate it into your nail as if you were drilling something normally, you won't feel any pain and eventually it'll break through the nail a clean hole that you can then press and let bleed out. Your nail will then grow eventually pushing the hole out.
Easier but not painful way: take a sharp disinfected object and poke into the purple part to drain the blood.

Above all else POST PICS

You should not get any Medical attention till it is needed because having your leg cut off is a tremendous experience plus you might get a robo leg one day.

OP you need to lance one side with a small razor blade (trust me it will barely hurt because of all the swelling and blood) then push on it from the other side and squeeze all the blood out and then wrap it.

Can confirm, dropped a heavy metal grate on my toe at work a while back and it took a few months for the nail to grow out enough to see the dead parts and another few for it to be the front half and break off, was almost a full year by the time I finally had a fully regrown normal tke nail again as opposed to a halfnail or deadshit.
