For the same reason it's not okay to denounce the truthfulness of the holocaust.

James Franco looks funny

Because the Bible is true. It says it's true right here, in the Bible!

Fulfilled prophecy muh man!

Oh, you ARE an edgy one!

based

One we have factual proof of one we don’t !

Well, you can but don't go any further than that in the US otherwise you run into the 1st.

Opm check out genisis theory part 1 on youtube if you think of yourself as educated.

It's a lot of old stories that match up to other old stories. They match Roman records & even Egyptian records. Some of it has to be true.

My history teacher told us about parts of the red sea, where at low tide are like a small slow river.
Plagues happen. Right up to the part about the cannibalism & zombie man, there's probably some truth in there.

Well, the thing is...the bible and the other religious books of its kind are actually real writings from super long ago. The problem is the interpretation.
They're not "fake news" they're just a bunch of stories in the same way as Beowulf and The Illiad and the Odyssey are. Making them into a religion is the issue.
There are things that could be learned from them from a historical perspective. For instance, why are there so many commonalities across stories from across the world? Why is there a flood story? Creation story? Etc.
If something insane happened today, we would write books about it. The 4 that survive for 12,000 years might looks really retarded when you look back on it. Or at least end up being simply an "artists rendering" of the truth.

name 1
and name how does that prove god in any way, especially that particular 1

how bout we check out the peer-reviewe studies instead?

so since middle east, where the action takes place, exists, there r gods?

It's Grizzy Adams you uncultured fuck

Nature is God. It's all just stories about bad shit happening and they couldn't explain it so they made it into an all powerful being (or series of them).
It's highly likely that the Sun cycles cause massive catastrophe on Earth on a semi regular schedule. If you were around as a society long enough (say 2-5,000 years) you might end up recording evidence of some of this. We see it in astronomy with other stars. There have definitely been planet wide events.
If bad shit happened that fucked up the entire planet (giant meteor, polar shift, solar cycle shift etc) then there would be tons of stories about it. They would not be from a scientific perspective. It would be sound like "God became angry and fire was in the sky, the oceans turned black, everything was destroyed." etc etc. They have no fucking clue. They're just a bunch of farmers.

>nature is God

Nature can nibble my buttcrease

Prove religion doesn't exist then. You can't.

Trips will tell the truth

look, this chart of real evolution proves that God is a non-existant faggot

no, nature is nature. Its redefining terms to suit your narrative

he didnt say religion doesnt exist, he said bible isnt factual

which part of bibble isnt real?

how earth started, how there r gods, how humanity begun, state of egypt, propecies, resurrection, mythos...

Not that user but let me try.
There is a prophecy in the Old Testament by, I think (I don't remember) Daniel. In it he's told a list of the nations that will come forth in the future. Not the exact names, but their methods of war, their purity, their battle tactics and strength. It's described as a statue in one place, and something else I believe in another. That prediction came true centuries later with absolute accuracy.

The Old Testament was LOADED with references to the coming Jesus Christ. If you total all of them together, it's astronomical that one person could ever actually fulfill them. You can debate whether Jesus was the Son of God. I think he was. But the fact that this one dude managed to fulfill all those prophecies with laser accuracy is astounding.

There are also little prophecies that are rather interesting. It predicted the internet without naming it. It describes the ability to see the "two witnesses" all over the entire world centuries before satellite television and the internet. Now we can see some dumb thot with a shoe on her head showing off her boobs on the other side of the world LIVE. That was unthinkable all those centuries ago.

It also predicted nuclear weapons. It describes a curse against those who come against Israel. No one for centuries understood what it was talking about. When you read it now, it perfectly describes what happens to a human body in the event of a nuclear blast. I think one line goes along the lines of their tongue will consume in their mouth before their bodies hit the ground or some sort.

Some real Bible scholars could probably do better than I, as these are just off the top of my head. It's the only book that's like the first wikipedia. It cross references itself with prophecies all over the place. It's frightening how accurate it is.

It's a fucking metaphor you retard.

no that's all real

Attached: tenor.gif (498x278, 1.24M)

oh, u mean the propecy, that is an interpretation of a dream to begin with?
It didnt come true. Nothing in the propecy says when itll happen, what will be the countries and how it wont be a self-fulfilling prophecy
no, the old testament is loaded with references to the coming of a warlord, which jesus wasnt. Consult jews chow christianity is in fact false
no, they dont predict the internet, or satelites. Show me the verse, where it says "we will be connected through radio waves and wires conducting electricity to convey information around the globe"
It didnt predict nuclear weapons. Theres no curse.
Funny how all of this is so easy to understand with hindsight, yet it meant nothing at a time of creation.
And all of this still doesnt prove god did any of it

It is, by anyone with half a brain. hth, OP

whats god a metaphor for?

Because my parents told me it’s real so it’s real. I don’t want to believe I’ve been lied to my whole life and that all my values are a sham.

Why is Rumia moving like that? Make her stop.

Prove that these higher beings exist, you literally can’t
>Spider-Man is real cause it says so in this here book, books never lie my man!

wrong

All of it

you can't stop it. all you can do is join

You're right, it was a dream. I forgot, but it was a prophecy. I forget where, but I think Pastor John Hagee went over how that description went over several nations that perfectly described their quality and battle tactics.

Jesus, a warlord. You're partially right. Read the part in the New Testament where Jesus Himself tells those that are about to crucify Him that this is not His kingdom, else His army would fight in His defense. That's a clear leader with the urge to take down some monkeys.

The internet / satellite thing is actually described by the "two witnesses" in the end times. It describes the entire world being able to see them for days, especially after they are murdered. I think they go nuts and give each other gifts over those murders when they are resurrected. There was no explanation for how the entire world would have the ability to see what people were doing on the other side of the planet live without the technology to do so. Sure it doesn't use modern words for it, but it describes the ability. You and I could be on the opposite sides of the world and yet we're talking right now.

The nuke thing is very explicit in what happens to the human body by this curse. There is no other thing in human knowledge that perfectly matches this than someone being nuked off the face of the planet. It's no accident that Israel is loaded with nukes to defend itself.

>actually arguing with people on Yea Forums

Attached: q3123Untitled.png (1472x828, 81K)

I use Yea Forums and /pol/ to practice speaking and debate actually. I don't know or care if I influence someone, but I learn from mistakes and learn new facts from others so I'm not some pitiful stain on the floor flopping about expecting the rest of the world to cater to me. I'm not saying you do that, I'm just saying I use this place as a training ground to remove inexperience and autism.

Humans love their stories. They're all made up shit, but humans do love their stories. Humans are fucked up.

>Practicing debates with trolls and shitposters.
Just kill yourself you autist.

it wasnt a prophecy
im fully right. Jesus wasnt a warlord ant there was no army fighting for him, especially under his command
"two witness" doesnt in any way say "internet"
no, its not

i rly dont have to take your biased word for any of this shit. why dont u cite the "prophecies" instead?

I'd say, "You first," but it seems you're already dead inside.

Gr8 db8, I r8 it 8/8 no h8, m8.

because it hurts my feelings and you tip fedoras and you are a stupid head

I once read somewhere that humans crave entertainment. It’s why our imaginations are our greatest asset and greatest hindrance, because it allows us to illustrate amazing things but also keeps us perpetually bored.

But have you seen the clown that hides from gay people?

No no, you're right. God should've just laid out how computers and telecommunications and nuclear physics works to some shepards thousands of years ago. You act like any of these things matter to a deity anyway. He wouldn't give a shit about the internet or what it's called.
But likewise to putting it in terms people would understand, he referred to Jesus as a warlord in the only battle that matters- between good and evil.

I guess to understand the Bible you have to first stop thinking everything revolves around you and your perspective.

Nature, catastrophe, the unexplainable.
You have to think from the perspective of a society of people who don't have math or complex science. What they understand to be complex or alien is anything that does not fit the world view of basic day to day life.

if they do matter, he shouldve been specific and said "u will invent microprocessors using silica in 20th century", instead of saying fuck knows what, since u cited nothing
If they dont matter, why did he give any visions to any1, dumb bitch?
No, jesus was supposed to be a warlord and wage wars against other humans, not be a metaphorical warlord. Again - show me where it says "hell be a warlord against evil, not a warlord against other tribes" in your holy book
I guess to understand the bible u must 1st read it. I understand both sides of this debate better than u understand your own alone

u r not making a case for yourself. Why the fuck do u believe an antropomorphised person exists, who created the universe, has chosen ppl and gives them visions, if it all is just unconscious, uncaring, non-volitional events?

In other words, a society of imbeciles, and for reasons I'll never comprehend, people still choose to believe this drivel.

This is not even English. Clearly you don't understand what I'm saying.

I'm not defending "religion". That is generally stupid. Taking biblical text as religion is stupid. Continuing to think that there is a god of some sort is also stupid. But dismissing the text itself as "fake news" is also foolish. The text itself is actual historical documentation. It's story that was written down first hand by people thousands of years ago that can be used from a historical perspective to see what may have happened to people during an ice age, polar reversal, sun cycle, or other major event that they did not understand.
What people should be doing is trying to understand what it actually means, not reading it like a born again and "not laying with another man" because god told them to. Maybe you should figure out why the leaders at the time were trying to convince people to do those things and what catastrophes happened and why and what could happen again and what should be done now as a result.

no, sorry - its u, who doesnt get it and tries to get out of the argument. God disproved again

>The text itself is actual historical documentation
no, it isnt
there wasnt a time, when there was more jew slaves in egypt than egyptians. There was no time, when red sea parted, or all those jew slaves went into the desert and set up camp.

As usual with fake news, it's mostly offensive to people who don't think it's fake news.

Society will judge you. Now remember, you have to be a good sheep. Please don't ever have any ideas of your own.

Anyone who hates the Bible is definitely a loser

keep telling yourself that

And there was no time when Virgil traveled to the underworld and saw how the ancient gods treated the enemies of Rome. What's your fucking point?
You're a really fucking narrow minded individual.

It is. You don't exactly see christians fly airplanes into buildings and cutting off peoples heads if you do.

that Dantes Inferno isnt a historical document

The Bible is fake news

Why would you hate a fucking book? Get a grip

I love the Bilble because is fake news

the bible is actually Great News! it tells us that we will be saved! HalleluJah!

maybe cuz of how its written, what it talks about and how its percieved by idiots?
U think hatered is osme highly sophisticated thing reserved only for most precious humans, instead of a strong, negative emotional reaction to something?

Maybe it'll tell us if the Colosseum held beer nights

i dont dismiss the bible as fake news. im a firm believer that everyone is allowed to believe whatever they want. its just not my place to say otherwise. its also not my place to make fun of anyone who choses to believe in god or whatever they choose to believe.

>we souldnt correct misinformation. Its fine, if we stop vaccinating

actual information may look like misinformation. Some people will never change their views.

I think he's just allowing others the freedom of religion without judgement. If you think there's something wrong with that then kys. Put your strawman away

people are stuck in a primitive way of thinking thats why

>theres no way to investigate reality and differenciate between those 2, so its all faith after all

he says its not his place to say otherwise, as if no common man can have any more information about a topic than any other, so choices should be done for us by some1 else and that way we r protected from bad actions motivated by delusions and false beliefs.
Being wrong isnt a right

I really hope one of those four is Twilight just to confuse the fuck out of future historians.

It's all about the fear of death. Always has been, always will be. People see religion as a spiritual mechanism to cheat death and get a stay-out-of-hell pass.

It is fine if we stop vaccinating. Why does everybody act like death is bad?? News flash. Everybody dies.

cuz life is prefferable to non-life

Yep. I've mourned my own death numerous times and I now find that I have no use for christianity

What an idiot. You blather on but it's painfully clear that you haven't done your homework. You obviously haven't read any of the thousands upon thousands of interpretations of OT prophecies (always made in the context of what, at the time, were current events) over the millennia,
espoused with just as much or more conviction than you, by people whose education exceeds yours by orders of magnitude - and they were all wrong too. Why? Because the bible's not true.

Exactly. God is early man's attempt to explain thunder and lightning.

Not that user. I think the point is that nobody proselytizes using The Aenid as non-fiction and tells others they'll be tortured for eternity if they reject its teachings. Christians and muslims do that with their "holy" books.
