I'm having this problem where my HDMI cable doesn't work. I just put this PC together. Ryzen 5 1600, 8gb ddr4 2400, 600w psu, 1tb hdd. I didn't have enough money for a bigger hard drive or SSD. I'm getting a GPU from my friend. However whenever I plugged my PC in and turned it on it works fine as expected, but, when plugging in the HDMI it doesn't do anything. The HDMI cable doesn't do anything on my tv. The HDMI port on the TV is fine, and the HDMI cord is fine. The motherboard I'm using is the MSI b350 gaming Plus. Any ITT kids?

suggest looking elsewhere if you want actual help from people lol

buy another hdmi cable

do you have a VGA cord?

Yes, but we are using a tv that doesnt have a port. Dont have a pc monitor on standby.

>tHe HdMi cAbLe Is FiNe
Changing the HDMI cable didn't work. I have three of them and I tried all of them.

It probably works just fine
Get your remote and press input a few times until it says HDMI or you see your desktop

remove gpu and try using onboard graphicks
might be graphics card issue

use different cable, maybe the cable is a jew and that specific port doesn't like jews.

tern off on again
fixes a lot of problems

nice computer, I wish mine had those specs
*cries in intel core 2 duo*

There are different types of HDMI
Your TV might not be compatible with the type you are using

this
make sure you're on the right input, faggot.
and make sure that you're using the right HDMI slot thingy on your TV, it might have HDMI out and HDMI in,
If you're using HDMI in, then it won't work; try switching the port you plug the cable into.

Obv, tl;dr. I said that I don't have a graphics card.

Well being as though I've said that I tried it on numerous different items and they all worked fine... id say its fine. The HDMI cable works, the TV is perfect, the only problem could be the computer. Being is 90% of these parts are second-hand getting a warranty is impossible. I don't want to have to spend another $100 on that motherboard again.

Seems like you were right. But this is the only place that will respond within 10 seconds. I have ADD in this shit doesn't work for me. Actual diagnosed

So you have no GPU plugged in now? ryzen 5 1600 doesn't have integrated graphics, and requires a dedicated GPU. Only the G series does.

...wait...is the HDD new or salvaged?

wowimretarded I thought I saw a graphics card in the case, I didn't check much
ok so uh

literally the exact same thing happened with my computer, and it's been dead for 2 years. take it to so a medical professional, and get a diagnosis
make sure the motherboard isn't dead by removing the RAM
if it beeps when it turns on the motherboard is fine
if not, it's ded

Ooooh, ok. Thanks. Ill get a 1070 8gb in a week. I can wait till then.

alsothis
if it has no integr8ed graficks you're fucked without a gpu

How does a motherboard make noises without a speaker?

Have you tried to tri force your comp? It works on mine.

some(most?) do have a small onboard speaker.

Really? Oh, shit. I cant see one. Ill try it though. Sounds cool.

I just updated to a ryzen 7 2700 with a 2060, shit is cash.

Haven't done much with setting up a pc in years, but have you double checked to make sure you have the rights drivers installed?

The gpu's BIOS hasn't been set up for HDMI connection yet. By default VGA is the cord you must use first

I don't know
it's one of those things that just happens

Mine doesn't beep. However whenever I didn't have my Ram stick in my power button didn't work. I wanted to turn it on to see if it would but it didn't beep. So then I wanted to turn it off because I didn't want to plug in Ram while it was still on. The button didn't work. So being a logical human I panicked and kept pressing it over and over. Then I got worried plug the Stick of ramen hit the reset button and it worked fine. Dafuq.

i tried to tell him

God damn... i wanna smash.

This

I saw a YouTube video of that computer Nog "Oztalks" where he had this exact issue. Brand new computer parts are programmed for VGA, you must manually switch it to HDMI later on

i got curious and that board does not appear to have an onboard speaker. i could have been mistaken about how prevalent they are, but most i've encountered lately have had them.

Well, you were WRONG! However you are partially right. The main problem is that I don't have a graphics card the ryzen 5 1600 has to have a GPU.

also this is very relevant, too.

Yeah, I know a lot of the Dell computers have them. But I could never find where they were. Maybe they're just really small meant for high frequencies... idk m8

also i'm bad at grammar too.

>I tried it on numerous different items and they all worked fine

>the only problem could be the computer

You don't sound smart enough for me to walk you through this.

It's very possible not every fucking device you own has the same type of HDMI.

Just hire someone who isn't retarded to hook your shit up. Trust me. It will save you time

Op here

Wtf. Why is be able to put their heads together and figure things out? This isnt supposed to happen. Wtf

Ryzen chips don't have integrated graphics. That's why. You need a gpu.

No, I've done research on this for over two years, while saving money. I forgot about the VGA thing. But as clearly stated before the ryzen 5-series doesn't support onboard graphics. The HDMI cable works perfectly fine and it DOES work for my PC. But being as though it's never been booted up before it is only using VGA, AND I dont have a gpu. And you're a cuck if you go and chill out money for people to do the job for you. If you're a faggot and you do that then I'm not taking advice from you. Go fuck yourself.

Its fine. I could understand you.

We have already figured it out.

I don't know why it took you a whole thread to figure this out. AMD stated this when they released the ryzen CPUs.

>We have already figured it out

OP sure is an asshole

Because I had never wanted to use AMD processors. As I stated before, I have done my research but only on Intel and the parts are second-hand. I'm learning a lot about AMD right now.

How was I being an asshole for saying that? Poe's Law in action i guess. I was just saying it directly to the point. In a lot of people kept giving suggestions that were already ruled out. Wasnt trying to be a dick. Sorry if you interpret it that way.
