I mean even super good artists do it because it does save time, however if he's trying to get better then drawing both separately is a better idea cause he can practice drawing symmetrically although that's really hard to be consistent with. Mirroring it was probably the best choice cause it doesn't take away from the overall picture. Drawing really good looking cum is also time consuming and difficult to get right but once you do it's pretty great.
