Unrelated to everything, I watched a video "history" (it was a timeline really) of the most popular memes since like 2004 and it got me to start browsing the ICHC websites again because I remember that it was just a huge content aggregator/compiler/genreator of rage comcis and advice animals.
I literally do not know how to browse the websites chronologically. I can't just go back and view pages to watch memes evolve. It's like clickbait articles that contain memes but I Can't just go back and see 9001 foul bachelor frog images in a row because it's not in an article.
It still seems to cater to the same audience, but it's all the weird instagram memes filed with emojis and the caption above in that font. And it's all in subarticles. I just don't get it.

Yeah I was thinking about that. I like the string through body look, but it creates a lot of harmonics that make it sound pretty sharp. It works great on bass, but guitars, especially heavily distorted, can sound harsh and hard to fine tune. Not like I can afford another instrument anyway.

Just save your money, I prefer tune-o-matic bridges, even on a string through. My flying V is like that but it's pretty solid. I get some weird tones with the D string sometimes but it's the better bridge choice.

I gotcha. Yeah, I go through strings pretty fast. I don't know if it's my guitar or 25 year old amp, probably both, but I find it really hard to get a good tone, and dead strings don't sound good and feel bad to me. They're a pain in the ass to tune.
Music theory is something I've really wanted to read more into, but I'm too lazy. I have an app on my phone but it's not really the same as actually reading a real book about it. I may buy one to actually keep myself motivated since guitar and bass is about my only hobby.

I mean that's very true, they're not as easy to use but I suck at stringing and unless I broke one, I would play a set until they did. That's what I did in middle and high school as a broke kid.
All of everything I learned was relative to guitar. I didn't really get it until I learned Black Sabbath, by Black Sabbath and had to learn about the tritone notes played at the very beginning, and then relate that to tab. Once I figured that out, I figured how to move things up and down the neck, on different strings, play chords differently in different octives, the basis for power chords from bar chords. I never learned anything formally but if you can figure out patterns easily and do well with numbers, it's not too bad.

That's why I like lower tuning like D or C# because it makes it easier to play lots of different songs just by knowing the octaves and stuff, and having to constantly change tuning and make them all loose and shit gets annoying. But it makes it harder to play the highest frets on the first string, so solos aren't very good for it. That damn first string is my worst enemy too because I play pretty aggressively and I'll break em in a month, I'm surprised I actually have it with this used set.

That's definitely a downside. I just noticed my first string has two kinks in it about a cm from each other, and I'm wondering if I could use strings from other sets, or rather how it would sound. I definitely couldn't go below A with the 7th, so it may be interesting to see what a normally 6th string on my super heavy set could be used for G or G# thus I could play in C.
