I was given a "track day / supercar experience" at Silverstone for a birthday present about 10 years ago and one of the cars I could drive was the Countach.
Long / short: it's horrible. The driving position is probably the most uncomfortable you can be in a car: the pedals are so far offset compared to the steering wheel that it's almost like your torso sits facing forwards and your groin/legs have to swing sideways. The clutch is so heavy it felt like I needed ton weight boot to use it, the gas pedal is like a switch, and the brakes felt wooden.
It's fast, and sounds great.
But its completely ruined as a car for me; I guess you should never meet your heroes...
I also got to drive a few 911's in various flavours, a Testarossa and a couple of older classic Ferraris.
Up side of the day: got to drive a 911 GT2 which was sublime.
Down side: you get a guy riding along in the passenger seat in every car directing you around the track and telling you not to go too fast.

I said e39 was the last good BMW as in the new ones have nothing going for them. In the 80s/90s BMW and merc etc had better quality/higher spec as a way to differentiate themselves from lower cars but now everyone offers the same stuff.
