Any Iceman lovers? I don’t have a picture currently but I bought the ic400 two Christmas ago and I’ve loved it ever since. The body is sexy and the neck feels great.

I should explain, about the MT-2. You see, I'm a huge fag and I actually kinda like the way it sounds.

I'd love one of the vox tweed amps. Always loved their style.

I like the look, but I've never actually played one. Anything comparable on the neck feel?

This is the gayest worst shit I have ever seen. Have you heard of Fender or Gibson and Marshall or Mesa?

This is my main electric. I also have a Gibson les Paul special with p90s

Which neck profile? That's what I'm talking about.

Not that I can really reference as I only own three guitars.

Literally one of the most faggot setups I’ve ever seen

Nothing wrong with shecter, wanted a custom solo 2 and a c6 myself for a time.

Beautiful Tele. Right now I'm torn between these two guitars for my next purchase. Kinda leaning PRS, but convince me I'm wrong.

I love it, but I know schecter gets some hate for some reason. Never really knew why because I love playing this guitar and want to pick up a matching demon 7 in white

It's because people associate it with emos, and faggotry. Unfortunate, because they're actually really nice, even on their low end stuff.

I posted btw

Before anyone asks, not a richfag. I do the payment plans.

Some people are snobs and will look down om anything not gibson, fender, prs, gretch. It's stupid. If it sounds good it sounds good, I've had 200 dollar squires that did the job my fender does normally for playing live. Then I don't have to worry about breaking it.

Its a shame really, because I got this demon 6 on sale for $429 (idk if thats low end) and its proablbly one of the best guitars I've played. I guess I blame a7x for their switch to the emo vibe but a lot of other good artists use them exclusively

Personally I think this looks as good as any prs and I would be willing to bet has as good a time for 1/4 the price.

A tube amp is worth the money. And to me personally sounds much better than a solid state one. It's the same reason I like passive pickups over active ones.

Pic is too dark on my screen, what's the bridge pickup? Please tell me it's an EMG. I need a good kek

Ten years ago, I would've been right there with you. But these days, solid state and modeling amps are getting insanely good. Even for dirt cheap. As long as you don't go with the "all the effects in one amp" stuff, you can find really nice ones.

I have never tried passive hums, really want to. What is a budget tube amp you would recommend?

Not that user, but I would stay stay away from budget amps when it comes to tubes. It's not that they don't make good ones, but it's a crap shoot. Don't go less than $400-500 if you want a real tube upgrade.

Just my opinion, other user might have better advice.

I have always loved 80s stratkillers
Like charvels and ibanez blazers

I've seen some pretty good stuff but the warm sound is really hard to replicate and I dunno, just sounds better to my ear when I compare them.
Well how many watts are you thinking? Just a little practice amp? Something to gig with? It is important to keep in mind tubes amp will be quite a bit quiter than solid state amps of the same wattage as well as there's certain maintenance you have to do with the tubes and warming then up before playing ect.

I cannot resize pics on my phone to be under 2mb amigo

Kit guitar? Or did you sand off the logo like a heathen?

Actually, the bridge pickup I custom wound with some "special" wire that walked off from a lab at MIT.

Upload to imgur and post link?

I'm planning on making a decent sum of money soon, so what would you recommend just ingeneral. Let's say $600-$1k

As much as I'd love to gig, I don't really have the time or people to gig with. I usually just jam with friends in my apt at most. I'm a bit new to amps/cabinets so I'm not really sure what to look for. I don't need loud, just quality I guess.

Chibsons are okay
Suprisingly heavy
And essentially an epiphone as they are made out of old epiphone factories so the rumor goes

I love gibsons but i dont love the tacked on price for being caught for illegally harvesting brazillion timber

Does it sound "special"?

50$ wal-mart piece of shit, I have since replaced one of the pickups with a single blade humbucker, and now that I know I can replace the hollow zink block with something else, i'm debating steel or brass, maybe splurge on titanium... 20-60$ upgrades.

in all seriousness, the thing stays in tune, is more or less level/no fret buzz, and shockingly is damn near silent when plugged in, i'm amazed how good of quality I got for 50$.

still looking into a second one so I can HSH the thing with full size shit, maybe a nice green color, possibly get a harley benton imported, I do like les paul style but not the gibson quality.

Well I personally have a bias towards vox but that said, their ac15c1 or ac30 2x12 are within that range, assuming you're American. The ac30 2x12 is about 1200 Australian. Has primo el84 tubes, 12ax7 preamp tubes which I love and celestion g12 greenback speakers. And while I do prefer the vintage 30's speakers a little more those are still really good speakers.

guitarcenter.com/Marshall/DSL40CR-40W-1x12-Tube-Guitar-Combo-Amp-1500000183889.gc?cntry=us&source=4WWRWXGP&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIyobCgI_t4QIVlh6tBh1Svw3NEAYYBCABEgIFLvD_BwE

Basically the same one I own, but single speaker. Really can't recommend it enough. It's just so versatile. If you play metal, blues, rock, alternative, whatever. It'll fit your style. It also sounds really good on low volume, which is handy, since a lot of amps have to be cranked to get a nice tone.

Yeah, when you spend 2k on a guitar, and they don't even scrape the binding evenly, it's kind of a bummer. Don't get me wrong. I love my LP. It's like playing a silk guitar, it's just so comfortable. But I don't think I'd pay the same price again.

Delivered

Attached: Resizer_15562598677370.jpg (800x600, 383K)

I heard post 2010 qc went downhill
And just recently they almost went bankrupt

Decent fretwork on a WalMart guitar? Where is your walmart?! LOL

I actually found Gibson quality to be good. Not good enough for the price they're asking, but still good. It's the feel I love. I've never played a guitar that's as comfy as my LP Classic. But I recently played a PRS custom 24, and it's like 95% of the way there.

Are you in oz by anychance ?

Funny enough, mine was a 2008. But I'm really being a bit nit-picky with the binding issue. Everything else was just the way I like it. Haven't really tried anything newer, but I'd rather have a variety anyway. It weirds me out when I see a guy who has 6 LPs and nothing else.

I've heard a lot of good things about vox personally, and idk if this is a sin or not but I like the ones I play on in guitar center. Are they good for alternative/metal? Thats mostly what I play and I honeslty have no idea what I'm looking at when it comes to amps I'm a bit of a noob lol.

That is really helpful, becuase I already have 3 noise complaints about playing guitar late into the night lol.

America. But I'd love to visit someday, if you guys would do something about the damn spiders

They'll do any genre you want really, for metal you'll want a good quality distortion pedal in front of it though.
Just come to Melbourne. No scary spiders here.

Give an esp ec-1000 a go
If you are into lp bodys

QUALITY DISTORTION PEDAL YOU SAY?

Attached: seven-metal-zone-pedals-at-once.jpg (1000x500, 280K)

Jesus fuck 2k US for a les paul i would not call that nit picking

That would be $3500 + aud
Which is 2nd hand custom shop money

I might just do that. I do like the single cut design. And I still don't have anything with active pickups.

bought online sight unseen.
the reason I did is almost all the sub 100$ squire clones are being made out of one factory at the moment and said factory is putting good necks on them, they have no warping and for the most part good fretwork, mine, after taking a fret rocker to it, has 3 high frets, only one of them causes buzz if I try to lower the action to much, but even then, with the action as it is it is still in tune and feels good to play. to deal with said fret I would need some tools that I don't have.

I got it thinking I would be ripping everything out and replacing the electronics and getting a crash coarse in guitar repair... thought it would be a fun project where I can notice it getting better and better even with aliexpress parts.
sadly, I got a perfectly functional if cheap guitar.
the original tuners were good, but replaced with better, which will also be replaced with better down the road
the humbucker in the bridge position was not needed, but wanted, and I regret nothing.
putting a solid chunk of metal and not pot hollow zinc will increase sustain quite a bit, and really at that point if I want more sustain, I would need an actual sustainer pickup.
The rollers I have for trees are about the only 'necessary' upgrade I got, but realistically, I don't need them due to the nut and down force.

the next thing to go will be the nut for something good, and the trees will be needed then, but right now, they wouldn't really be needed.

honestly, its a great guitar at the same time a slight disappointment. I thought I was going to get a project when what I got was perfectly good.
can not wait for china to knock of fishman fluence pickups if they are getting THIS good at fully assembled guitars.

Ok then I'll take it a step further lol, what sort of distortion pedal do you recommend against like a fuzz or overdrive?

Oh no, not metal zone! The cringe!
Fuzz will get you more of an old school vibe and overdrive more modern. I am quite a fan of the Ibanez ts9 tube screamer.

Cort indonesias finest cheapest ibanez
Indo squiers better quality that mim fenders

Who cares whats on the headstock if ot feels nice and plays well

honestly don't care much about branding, unless its something obnoxious so that really takes 90$ of the value of a gibson away, but dammit do I love that les paul shape, main reason im considering a harley benton over a chibson.

I know, but I need to tell myself that or I'll weep uncontrollably. It's also only on the cutaway that it gets a bit uneven, so I can forgive it.

Attached: 20190425_234440.jpg (3024x4032, 1.07M)

I'm with you. Taking a cheapo and turning it into the best guitar you've ever played has gotta be satisfying. I've never really tried, because I'm only somewhat knowledgeable on the electronics side of things. Try getting a first act. I got one of those and it was an absolute menace.

Sound good in theory until you have $400-$500 sunk into something and could have gotten something mid level that was a weapon out of the box

I wish people didn't hate the metal zone so much. I always hide it when my musician friends come around, but it's my secret love lol

>imagine caring what others think

Get a pandora then you can openly be gay but no one will know

Its just gotten a reputation of being not very good and I think because of the "edgy" colouring people would associate it with emo stuff.

I guess that's true. Just depends what you're trying to do. I'm 6 guitars deep at this point, so I'd be doing it for shits and giggles.

Yeah nah go for it i assumed you were a gonna kid with a SX making a strat killer

I'm not THAT much of a fag. I'll stick to my line6 pod, thank you.

looking into it more and more, no, buying a dirt cheap base and replaceing everything down to frets can easily cost less then buying a good guitar from the get go as you are not paying for many parts that you will just replace anyway.

yea, first act... thing is if the wood is fucked there's no fixing it, I at least need the wood to be good.

that said, I dove in knowing fuck all about the electronics side of the guitar. get a multimeter and some alligator clips, had to crash coarse on how to properly wire a humbucker that can be tapped to just be a non tapped version, and about 2 hours later, I have everything in and ready to go, the pickup outputs quite a bit more, and I am hard pressed to be happier then I am now. I do want to figure out wiring for the guitar at some point, and possibly route a eq into the guitar, but thats future shit and maybe not happening. i'm also considering replacing the saddles of the guitar with something more beefy, but that's another down the road upgrade.

youtube.com/watch?v=u8ULybMSFh0

Kinda like that

>tips fedora

I see you have played knifey spooney before

Hey line6 pod is a pretty convenient way of recording when you're first starting out. I in fact bought one for a friend so he could do that and try out different effects.

Yeah, but to be fair, so is blowing a record producer. And it's much less gay

what do I win?

I always did dig the "tuxedo" style pickups

another round of faggotry

They're called zebra pickups though.

les pauls are the most overrated, default-ass "muh classy" guitars you can buy. you're not the fucking beatles, get a guitar made for the music you play

Maybe so but they look nice.

i'll take it. also, checked

Nice. Mines '08. I actually really like the plaintop. Flametops are gorgeous, don't get me wrong. But there's something classy about the plain. Also, the neck profile is my favorite to this day.

>guitar made for the music you play

What are you even talking about? LPs have been used in every genre you can think of. Frankly it doesn't matter what guitar you play. If it's high quality, you can work the sound into anything you want.

Are they? I always called them tuxedoes. No wonder people always call me a faggot.

les pauls are the elmer fudd of electric guitars. a first act strat copy has more character than a $5000 les paul

faggot

STOP LIKING THINGS I DON'T LIKE

Attached: STAHP.jpg (446x473, 102K)

I've only ever heard them referred to as zebra patterns. But I think tuxedo works fine too. At least as far as I knew what you were talking about.

Lol you have never played a nice guitar or your fingering technique sucks. Tell Adam Jones that Les Pauls suck.

If you don't have covers on your humbuckers you are the world's biggest faggot.

>humbuckers
>not using p-90s

I shiggy diggy

At least Gibson usually can nail that aspect.

I have other stuff too, user. I just like the traditional look and curves.

I really like the simple look mine has. I'm not sure I'd like the Honeyburst having the flame maple cap but it looks good on the Slash variant. The sixties thin neck on the Classic is fantastic.

Attached: IMG_0048_50.jpg (1512x2016, 1.08M)

Oh I have the same colour strat too! I sold my les paul though due to really desperately needing money.

I'm sorry to hear that. It always sucks when you have to sell a guitar.

Last year of the American Standard series.

Talk about cock rock.
Yeah. I'll either buy a new one when I can or I'll just get a scheter solo 2 that looks the same because it's cheaper and you can get custom built ones.

Wait they don't do American standard strats anymore?!

That new TOOL album is so close I can almost hear the sound of Maynard denying the release date yet again

It's weird. I love tool, but I'm not excited at all. I just don't get hyped about albums anymore. I'm sure it'll be great though

I don't think so. Fender seems to have several price tier series these days.

Attached: Screenshot_2019-04-26 Electric Guitars Fender.png (313x414, 17K)

I wonder if that means mine will go up in price someday. I guess the closest they have now would be the American Original then?

Hopefully that's what will happen since they're now discontinued. I have no clue. I'm glad I picked mine up before they made everything so complicated. Just glancing at it, the Original series looks to be a nod towards their more classic designs since they have 21 fret boards and 6-screw bridges. The Professional series seems to be closer to what the Standards were.

Yeah, Gibson and Fender both need to simplify. And do away with their affordable brands while they're at it. If you could pay 400 for a Gibson LP, or a Fender Strat, they would sell so many more. Plenty of people don't care about the quality, they just want the name on the headstock. I actually saw a $600 Gibson LP the other day, so that might actually become a reality sometime soon.

I understand the need to diversify your product range, but at a point it gets ridiculous. Gibson needs to improve their consistency before they focus on branching out. Fender on the other hand is nuts. It still baffles me how they own so many of the other companies.

>Indo squiers better quality that mim fenders
no

Yeah, I was surprised to find out Jackson was a Fender brand. I really figured they were their own deal.
