Why can't pro-lifers define a person?

If a child can't be raised by someone else, it is not yet a child or a baby. You cannot take away what does not exist. You aren't eliminating the existence of something that does not yet exist. You are preventing a possibility.

Can you deny this?

Until it is possible for it to live on it's own, you are not taking a life. No life is being lived.

Now if you were conceiving only for the purpose of harvesting a fetus this would be wrong. I am sure if pro choice manages to trump pro life some idiot will argue that intentional creation for the purpose of termination is okay, it is not.

Something needs to be in place to prevent this, or disadvantaged people will be used through it.

Any terminated fetus must be destroyed in accordance with the wishes of the person undergoung the abortion. Pro choice being a better decision does not suddenly mean life is not in some way still sacred. I would not be surprised if it turns out pro lifers were never concerned about sanctity of life in the first place

Abortion being legal and acceptable does not imply and should not be used to open the gateway for free tissue harvest, use, and testing. Perhaps that is what /some/ pro lifers fear

This is what regulations are for and it would be silly to say you want abortion prohibited but would not trust the prohibition of tissue harvesting if abortion were allowed. Doctors need to be accountable for their actions

Would be scary if neither side trusted authority.

Pro choice is the best way to give every person every last chance to own their choices. If you take choice away from people who already barely care, it will not make them more careful.

The kind of people getting abortions are not the type of people that would raise a successful member of society if you forced them to have a kid.

No one can predict the numbers ans we will never be able to guarantee the quality or availability of foster care or other means of relocating a child.

>If two down syndrome people have kids and one of the kids is missing another chromosome
Downs has an extra copy of Chromosome 21, it's not missing a copy.
From what I understand, four copies of c21 would result in an unviable embryo/fetus - ie, miscarriage.
