Trump impeachment will be two steps: 1) The House of Representatives go through with Trump impeachment thus ensuring political suicide for all the filthy liberal scum that go through with this, 2) The Senate votes not to pursue anything legal against Trump. This will lead to Trump 2020 win even if impeached in the house becoming the first president to get a second term even while impeached, and will lead to a vast majority win of the House/Senate for Republicans.

Democrats are not united in the idea of impeachment and would likely only vote on it if it seemed like a sure thing. Certainty would only come from testimonies from White House staffers that publicly confirmed a will to obstruct justice. The Special Counsel's report already shows evidence of this will, but testimonies by the second parties would hold give inescapable substance and impeachment would have a strong success chance.

Trump is going to use that to win back the House. The Senate should easily be safe for Republicans again. Also consider that most people who come out to vote tend to not read the names but just vote all along party lines. If the Mueller report fully came in around September or October 2018 containing the same content it was revealed to have now, Republicans would have swept the House.
