this. less psyjew and nig posts/agendas. less spam posts day after day of the same shit. more interactive. memes however lasted like months at a time. things were a lot slower. sometimes you could pickup a thread that lasted a week or more. kind of like the other chans but Yea Forums was never like the other chans. and of course the raids. not fagmod deleted.

For Yea Forums specifically: Less porn, more ylyl threads, and a lot more actually random stuff. Even thinking back to around 2014, I had a lot more fun in Yea Forums than I do now. I started a cult with some people I met on here about praising Ultralord from Jimmy Neutron, got around 40 followers on Twitter and Reddit and wrote a short Ultrabible with a couple of those guys before it died out a year or two later. I watched a few livestreams of kids contemplating suicide before pussying out. Even as soon as 2015, I remember some dude on Yea Forums saying that he would light firecrackers at a terrorist attack memorial in France, and seeing articles about it online the next day. All I have gotten from Yea Forums in the past couple years has been the occasional funny greentext and a lot of loli/furry shit that I didn't want to see in the first place.
Modern Yea Forums isn't horrible but it's definitely gone downhill. Hopefully it will fix itself and go back to the old ways but I'm kind of doubting it, sadly.

things used to be more fun, there used to be more like-minded people. things seemed to be more cohesive. Yea Forums has been overrun by special interest groups, activists, and newfags. people treat Yea Forums like an aggregator now and mostly use it to get things (porn, memes, greentexts, etc.) The people that use Yea Forums for fun and discussion are a super small percentage now and their efforts are essentially meaningless as they do nothing to sway the neverending tide of utterly mundane shitposting that now consumes the entirety of Yea Forums.

Fewer pages and lower post limits made the board move much faster. That and just a couple dedicated anons could easily sage a thread to death. IMO it got slower and more boring after those changed.
