You know, I used to HATE game of thrones. But only because I've never seen it and i hated the hype.

Its quite overhyped. But its not a terrible show. I can think of better shows. The bad thing about the show is the excessive sex scenes (i mean i have nothing against it but if i wanted sex scenes i could just watch porn), its quite annoying to watch with people because of this. And the bunch of plot twists that are way too many. I feel like the story is just trying too hard to make it interesting. It can also be quite tricky to understand, whos who, what did he do and what did he say etc. I binge watched the shit and after 6 seasons i started to like it. Thats another bad thing about it. But prob not because I like the show but because I want to know what is going to happen.

Overall: Its not a terrible show. Just an annoying hype and annoying fans. Its pretty entertaining and some actors are legit good. Its a "meh" show.

I would say this is about right. I waited years to start watching it and when I did I was actually pleasantly surprised how much I was enjoying it. I definitely wouldn't call it best show on tv and all that, but it's decently solid.
I also don't know why people are finally getting fed up with it now, 8 seasons in. Suddenly the writing is "bad" and the characters are "bad" everything about the show is bad but it really still feels like thrones. I guess it's good they are choosing to stop here before they really run it into the ground
