Not really. I used to lift, and now I think it's pretty pointless. But, if you play sports, it might make sense.

i had a trouble gaining confidence to talk to girls the way i wanted to. started going to the gym and lifting. after a few weeks i started to be more fit, had a toned body. basically just escalated my overall confidence to be more assertive in life and do things for myself

Personally I prefer swimming laps but it's neat to see how much you can lift. That first time you break 300 on anything is great, breaking 400 makes you feel fucking amazing. Also makes moving and rearranging furniture MUCH easier.

I am 33 years old and I have practiced a lot of sports. I spent years training and lifting. I even have quite a few years of mma and shit under my belt.
I am starting to hurt now that I am getting old, but here is the thing. People always say that I will be a train wreck when I get old. So what? Everyone gets old, but not everyone gets to be badass.

Its amazing really. I'm never sore after helping a friend move or a hard day at work. I also work a physical job. The testosterone too. I'm not a lady's man, but I'm no virgin either. Having a healthy and strong body helps in so many ways in life.
