Two thoughts.
First is that people get more conservative with age - goes hand in hand with them having something to lose, and with the simple basic fucking fact that folks who have figured out the game and have been successful at it generally want the rules to stay static - easier to succeed that way.
Second, the reason Yea Forums changed so much is because the oldfags grew up, got jobs, moved the fuck on and changed sites. You know how everybody's got that cousin who beat his first two wives 'til they left him, but he kept shacking up with new women and they kept shitting out premie half-baked kids? It's those kids who now gravitate to your former stomping ground. That's why your playground went to shit.
