If this minigun was civilian legal, would you buy one?

If this minigun was civilian legal, would you buy one?

Here's some proof that it's real: youtube.com/watch?v=P4veQxu-NWM

No.

If i was planning on going on a murder spree yeah. But im not a faggot so no

Oh, okay.

no

no, I'm pretty sure you are a faggot.

Bitch, do you know how much money that thing eats? It costs $400,000 to fire it for 12 seconds

Fuck yes I would, because it's muh rights

Okay you got me

The gun would be horrendously expensive and the ammo costs ridiculous to match. The average Joe couldn't hope to afford it.

It'd end up be a plaything of the rich, so not much different than civilian purchasable machine guns now.

/thread

I dunno man, some guys spend 17 grand on a single rifle. I think the market wants this product and a select few will have the cash for it.

>would you buy one?
yeah, probably, because it's cool.
I know that may be a stupid reason, but dang, it's just so cool.

I'd consider someone that does that in the "rich" category.

Lol, how poor are you? Struggling to scratch out $28,000 a year from working at McDonalds?

You can come back and talk with the grown-ups once you get a grown-up job kiddo.

If I was going to buy a really expensive gun I wouldn't pick one that has almost no practical application. The ammo would run dry in seconds of continual firing and the kickback and hip-fire nature makes shot grouping next to impossible. Only the military has a high enough budget to fire these sorts of weapons and they are usually mounted onto something to take the kickback

Does a bear eat nachos?

>Wasting that much money and not just saving up to buy something in full giggle

First of all, the rate of fire is electronically adjustable. 6000 rpm is possible, but most people would probably turn is down to 400rpm. Secondly, you don't know how much it costs - no one does as of now, so don't go saying it's unaffordable. Some people pay over $80,000 for a vehicle for contrast. And third, impractical guns still sell despite their impracticality if only for novelty purposes.

do you know how much 6000 rounds of ammo weighs? It would completely defeat the purpose and not be portable at all

The gun along with battery pack and 1000 round backpack of ammo weighs less than 100 lbs.

I was answering the question asked nigger. It's not practical and that's why I wouldn't spend money on it.
>Comparing an impractical gun to a car you'll use every day
False equivalence
>Don't go saying it's unaffordable
It WILL be fucking expensive, both in purchase price and maintenance
>You can just turn down the firing rate.
If you don't want to take advantage of the 6000rpm firing speed you might as well buy a conventional assault rifle

Well if guess if you don't have a lot of money then it's not for you.

>might as well buy a conventional assault rifle
fucktard, an AR is not a machine gun
six barrels are better than one

Ya USFags are deeply mentally ill

No i wouldn't buy. I'm not watching the video but current full auto is a waste, I don't need a machine dedicated to it.

I would rent one at a range if available though.

Legally speaking an assault rifle IS almost always considered a "machine gun". If it's got burst or full giggle it's a machine gun to the US government.

>he'll never know the glory of dumping magazine after magazine into a steel target

Attached: 13118471899.jpg (445x399, 40K)

Even if I had the money I'd still buy multiple assault rifles. There's wasting money and then there's purchasing a white elephant
>Assault rifles aren't machine guns
Yes they are, they're and intermediate between an SMG and a LMG

Wow you guys seem passionately opposed to this idea

what do you do then mr. richman

For the cost of one of those you could pay an armed security force to do the job more effectively.

If I came somewhere to kick ass and chew bubblegum, then yes.

Assault rifles are very specifically "select fire rifles chambered in an intermediate cartridge". Select fire is more than one fire mode. We now have triggers that offer select fire with modes that are not burst or full auto, like binary triggers (fires on pull and again on release, considered 2 separate actions which is why they're legal).

If I could buy then yeah, no one fucks with the guy who has a minigun

You guys may have missed the point:

A six-barrel rotary system will disperse heat evenly over those six barrels, whereas a conventional arm has only one barrel and will melt down six times faster than the XM556

And it's only a prototype.

And what is that cost?

I'm not opposed to the idea, I'm opposed to its lack of actual utility and almost surely tremendous cost. If those things were resolved it'd be an ok idea. As is however it's useless

You made multiple "points" and apparently don't realize it. We addressed one of them ignoring the other.

Apparently something that pays more than your job, loser.

People are always opposed to new ideas at first. Anything that is truly different scares them. They will even hate the idea for a while.

Perfect, now we just need some power armor to carry extra ammo

Attached: 82a298f761376873d1457a43003b5938.png (460x780, 327K)

Well that's sort of immaterial, it's called firing in bursts to avoid overheating. Some gun users have a little thing called "trigger discipline" and they don't just spray and pray while holding down the trigger. In a long engagement that thing would run dry very quickly on the settings that take advantage of those multiple barrels, and the setting that wouldn't eat up ammo super fast wouldn't be taking full advantage of the multiple barrels

Yeah, OKAY THERE armchair general, sir

>Opposed to new ideas
I think you mean that we aren't retarded early-adopters that buy a product before it's actually practical

You can't buy it, it's not even for sale yet

How about you actually respond to my arguments faggot? Or can't you defend the fact that the settings that actually use the main feature of a minigun couldn't be used without burning through all the ammo in seconds, making the extra barrels superfluous. It's a toy, guns should be tools

Regardless, anyone who buys one before the problems are fixed is either a retarded early adopter or has more money than sense

I don't know what you think you're arguing about, but you sure do seem mad

Yeah, you said that

So why harp on about it not being for sale yet when it doesn't matter? Whenever it IS released anyone who buys it in that state fits my criteria

Fuck yeah dude
seems impractical as fuck but fun to use on a range

I just want to see it mounted on a bipedal robot.

There. I said it.

It's not my fault your reading comprehension is sub-par and you don't know to address my criticisms. Don't strain your feeble mind with it then or you may have a stroke

hail corporate

Looks like it would be fun. And expensive. Oh, great, another weapon for the rich.

Instant love jesus, only 40ish K and is likely ownable far easier than a post sample._. Fuk yeah

I would get this because I'm not some gay faggoty snowflake millennial retard that needs a safe space

>>utilizes 5.56
.56 is literally $150 for 500 rounds

Being this fucking retarded

Unit cost is $20k, and it costs $1700 per second of sustained fire at maximum firing rate.

youtube.com/watch?v=jHgZh4GV9G0

The burning you feel? It is shame.

NATO ammunition is cheap ya dumb faggot.

Your guns are your safe space, pussy.

Actually it has a backpack with an ammo feeder. But hey, I didn't watch the video on it at SHOT show.....

Yeah. Wouldn't even keep it loaded. Just keep it in my car and pull it out next time some asshole with road rage gets out of his.

gun lovers and racist nationalists are the supreme safe-space-cadets, they are all about the threats and dangers they have to deal with.

>imma draw an unloaded gun on someone
you temporary idiot.

Not my fault you have no idea what the fuck you're talking about. You actually might if you owned firearms in the first place and be able to understand that ammo is relatively cheap. Sorry you're a poorfag.

No, that's a man portable war crime. I don't even know what rounds those things fire.

it was a reference dude. watch his video. sorry you dont understand jokes.

Yes because wanting to be prepared to face down and vanquish a threat is so equivalent to hiding from things that hurt your feelings

I'm sorry you don't know jack shit about firearms. We guud now?

>being THIS fucking retarded

He was quoting TF2 dude
Kill yourself

ive fired a minigun at battlefield vegas, it was fun but realistically it goes thru ammo so fast it wouldn't ever be anything beyond a novelty. Most wouldn't be able to afford to shoot it for more than a few seconds every now and then. I'll stick to my ARs and AKs.

Ffs, quit your bitching and hear it from the fucking manufacturer themselves you 12 year old shitlords.

youtu.be/UdGueKkjQlk

Die in a fire nigger. Glad you're that angry because I didn't watch some autistic cartoon.

This gun fires roughly 4000 rounds per minute.

That's roughly 67 rounds per second.

Average cost of a 5.56 is $0.21.

67 x .21= 14.07.

14.07 x 12 = 168.84.

So not quite $400,000.

That said, nearly $200 is still a lot of money for 12 seconds of fire.

RPM = Rounds Per Minute. 6,000 RPM fires 100 shots in one second, normal assault rifle 10 - 12. Other user said 500 rounds 150$, so 30$ per second

>complains about "autistic cartoons" on an anime picture sharing website
Ok buddy retard

But why have this when its not man portable and there is a 7.62 x 51mm variant?

>not getting that it's just a reference and getting this mad

Watching you get this angry because I don't care about that shit is quite entertaining. Keep crying please.

Seriously who the fuck needs to shoot 100 rounds a second? That thing looks scary as it is. I bet it's an AR assault rifle modified from 6 AR barrels. You dont need that to defend your house let alone animal hunting. I would personally write a letter to the NRA if it ever got even close to being purchased by the public.

>If
The Constitution guarantees the right to bear arms so I can carry that thing if I want and anyone who tries to take it from me can and will eat my lead.

Actually theyre very useful for hunting

youtube.com/watch?v=Gj5dd-Bge5I

wild hogs are invasive and detroy ecosystems alongside billions in property damage every year

It's a gatling gun, an early machine gun design from US civil war times, was resurrected in the 1970s because of the high firing rate and the better heat dispersion than single barrel guns. The barrels rotate, is different from automatics and semiautomatics like the AR-15. Disadvantage: Heavy, needs handcrank or electric motor

It's a video game you uncultured newfag

Attached: gmGC9mI_d.jpg (640x400, 16K)

You obviously do not know that full auto is not meant to kill enemy comatants, its used for supressive fire. If you hit something fine, but thats not what its meant for, join the military to learn real life tactics, or stay ignorant.

Who the fuck are you to dictate what others should be allowed to have or own? By your comment I should be allowed to dictate what you own, correct? Dumbass bitch!

It's not meant for civilian use.

It's an adaptation of a larger support weapon that's normally mounted on helicopters, or other vehicles.

The idea here is that it will offer effective support fire, on a man portable platform for the military.

Obviously, the America being what it is, this will absolutely end up in the hands of civilians.

No, its not a gatlin gun. Its a mini gun. Learn the difference little lady.

Man, forget him. Its like you are teting to explaim thermodynamics to an ant, he is unable to comprehend.

This assblasted because I don't play the same vidya and jerk off to the same trap threads that you do. Newfag? I've probably helped your poor ass out if you've ever seen a jewpon thread you fucking neckbearded incel.

it is legal and you can buy it in many states

Small calibre gatlings are often called Minigun, but they're still gatlings

>legal
I think you mean affordable

Who doesn't love a gun that has to have 2 car batteries with it to fire.

Attached: 1541133772366.jpg (2048x1152, 145K)

Do you not understand 400rpm, say you fire one minute that's at least 30 cents per round. So while you're not going to likely fire 400 in a minute, but that's still like 130 dollars of ammo per minute. Where do you see anyone dropping 130 dollars per minute and telling you it's not an expensive?

Bullshit

Do you think the Vegas shooter or the Christchurch shooter cared about the price of the ammo? Sell your house, sell your car, after the shooting you're either dead or locked away for the rest of your days.
