Salary?

are you a faggot?

Min wage

Yes. Da cock es premium

Is it worth?

For now, yes. Really fun job.

What's the worst part of the job, what qualifications you needed?

For quality assurance you have to take a standardized test of your language skills, no qualifications per se but you have to know how language works. Worst part of the job is probably coming to terms with the fact that the top tier games companies sometimes have retarded staff.

How do you land a sweet ass job like that?

Do you test at home or do you work inside a facility?

>coming to terms with the fact that the top tier games companies sometimes have retarded staff.

Have you not been following Bethesda, Blizz, Magic Randy? I came to terms with it a while ago...the bigger the company the more retarded the staff.

how do you get this job? Are you at home or at a facility?

How did you get your job?

Why did you get your job?

ur gay

also what games can you tell us about that are coming out?

itt : things that never happened

Still a virgin?

It's an office environment. I come in in the morning and turn my PS4 on and grab a cup of coffee

For those asking, I just randomly applied to a local ad and managed to get in.

No, loads of pussy. DGAF if you believe me or not.

Actual former video tester here, not this faggot.
If a video game tester says the job is fun, you know he is lying.
The salary: average. not good, not bad
The job: You have to play the game on every single settings, you have to try everything (exploring everyting, every tiny bit of a game), over and over again.

I was working on Crysis as a video game tester and it was a pain in the ass. I completed the game at least 50th times, on every single difficulty, on every single graphic settings.

To get a picture - You need to complete the game on 800x600 resolution, doing fucking everything. You complete a level, now you need to complete it again with a different playstyle, on a different route. You finish the game, report the bugs you found, and yep, you start over with an another resolution, with another settings.

I was depressed with many of my collegoues, and when I went to sleep I was dreaming usually about north koreans and aliens. It was the happiest day in my life when it ended.

Ask me anything if you are interested, not OP who is a giant faggot.

Does it ever get boring?

Based.
How did you get the job? And were there any other testers besides you? Because it sounds like you had to do everything alone.

Someone I knew was working on it and he gave me the oportunity to join the project.
In the department where I was working I had 5 other people, but there were many others. Crysis is a big sandbox game, alone it would take years to test it.

This guy knows what he's talking about. I tested a remake of a game I liked, and I haven't touched it since. You get too much of a good thing really fast, and no matter how good the game is, you will get sick of it.

tell us what cool shit is coming out.

How ahrd was it finding a job like that?
Any specific qualifications you need or experience?
How introverted is the job? Would a data entry clerk fit right at home if they knew what they was doing?

Data entry is half the job. You play the game until it breaks, then write a report describing how you broke it.

actual former tester here, not OP faggot
The guy I knew was in the Crytek team as a dev, and they were looking for testers, so he vouched for me, and I got in.
You need to be very good at describing things. If you see a bug in the game, you can't just say for example "the bush is is not moving in the wind", you need to clearly state and describe what happened, where, at what duration of the game etc.

Crysis came in 2008 so I guess a lot changed, but I always went to the studio and I worked there, I had to sign a lot of stuff that I won't leak anything. There is no chance that you would be able to work at home.

For language do you mean gaming language (i.e C++)?

(ok, let us pretend this is real)
Do you, or any other tester, actually ever finishes the game before it's released?

Working in office is fine for me and I tend to normally give detailed reports of how and what happened when i've caused a serious glitch or bug.

You got lucky since crysis was in the early days before open betas and public testing.

Was you there for the testing period of crysis or were you kept on for anything else? I'm guessing this stuff only lasts a short term contract in terms of work?

Do you have to be good at gaming to playtest games? I’ve always wondered that. I’m a fair player on various Sony platform games but I work a 9-5 and can’t play 24/7. I have people in my friends list who do and I’m not as far along in any of the games. Not that I would probably ever playtest games, like the not-faggot-OP said, playing a game over and over at every level on every difficulty level would be hard for a casual.

Play game for 15 min type for 1 hour. And buy play I mean just mash different buttons and try and go out if bounds to see if any thing goes wrong. Real fun

I was there for 3 months during college, thank god it didn't take longer. It was a good learning opportunity for me, and it looks great in my CV. I was there just for crysis.

yeah, OP is a larping faggot.
