Do you think fast food workers deserve $15 minimum wage you wouldn’t want this nice old lady to go hungry.....right anons?
Do you think fast food workers deserve $15 minimum wage you wouldn’t want this nice old lady to go hungry...
I would never let them go hungry
They already get paid $15 in NY state
Fuck that old ass bitch
She works in a fucking restaurant, she ain't going to go hungry.
Everyone deserves minimum wage, that's why it's called a minimum wage.
Unless of course the minimum age in the US is less than $15 in that case please rephrase your question.
Why is that Ping Li wearing a man’s watch? These fast food fucks are so stupid they can’t even buy shit right with all that extra money.
here's what $15/hr looks like
I've worked at mcdonalds and arby's.
They do not deserve 15 dollars a fucking hour.
I'd rather work at mcDs for 9 an hour than work at say a hog barn or washing out live stock trailers for 11 dollars an hour. Which I've also done both.
i think healthcare workers should get $15/hour before fast food workers. like EMTs, NAs, ER techs. most get paid $11-$14/hour and its not enough for the shit (literally) they deal with
Yes, they should be paid $15 per hour.
>just because
When I can get an order correct, with all the utensils, and it doesn't make me projectile vomit, we'll talk...
No they shouldn't, now drop those fries, there are customers at the front counter...
Cop here. I make about $15 an hour. Fast food fucks don't deserve it. A minimum wage increase, perhaps? Sure. But not $15 an hour.
She'd be out of a job if the minimum wage was 15$ too much competition for the job and she cant compete with some teenager.
Here are some very educated.people who know the answer to whether or not they do discord..gg/MPJs2P
Shoot the mayor and demand a raise...
If the minimum wage was increased to $15 wouldn't companies raise their prices to compensate for the loss of money due to the wage increase?
Nope, with an B.S. in Computer Science my first job out of college wasn't $15 an hour it was $12.37 IT help desk work.
Yeah, the economy would love it.
I'd kill myself if I had to work at BK again at 9.50.
I agree completely. Congratulations, you've solved the problem of inflation. Here you go, enjoy your $15/hour.
Yes. It will spur automation which will force them to do something more useful.
>I agree completely. Congratulations, youve solved the problem of inflation. Here you go, enjoy your $15/hour.
I think we all deserve a little more. real Wages decreased for nearly everyone
>They do not deserve 15 dollars a fucking hour.
How motivated do you figure people are to avoid spitting in your food when they can't afford their rent?
But if the Robots take care of all the work than why will we hate niggers?
the robots are coming anyways, people act like paying other humans $15 in the interim is really gonna speed that up
I don't think anyone should receive money for participation in the manufacturing and sale of animal byproduct.
But anyone that makes minimum wage doing something that doesnt directly contribute to the destruction and death caused by factory farming should certainly make a living wage. And anyone with a brain that can comprehend the relationship between inflation vs living wages should agree.
Bleh beat me to the punch.
Ever used one of these to order but told to have to pay at the main counter?
When the cost of human labor > the cost of installing & maintaning robots, guess what happens...
Let's be honest, robots won't have any effect on that.
Looks like he is sniffing a fart
The Jews don't have to destroy our country. We're doing it ourselves. We've been made to be so indifferent to the world around us, to other people around us.
How much do you think abortionists should make?
I agree completely. Congratulations you've solved the problem of inflation. Here you go, enjoy your $15/hour.
>better consistency
>fewer errors
>doesn't talk back
I don't see a problem here.
I only make 20 after a degree and IT certifications, fuck that shit
Why raise minimum wage when capping annual income to 10 million then taxing 90% after that would lower the ceiling instead?
Yes. Your bait is lame.
Dont worry about that, that profession is dying out.
Thats not how it works. The issue of people being poor in arguably the richest nation in the world is not because they are lazy.
And the argument of "automation will mean less jobs!" means that your taxes will skyrocket due to the endlessly increasing population that cant find work that has to be supported with welfare.
correct. this country is addicted to spending money that it does not have. we don't need so-called "fair" wages. what we need is a stable currency with minimal inflation. the more the government tries to manipulate the economy, the more is keeps fucking it up and distorting it ... soon $15/hour won't be enough, then $20/hour.... we should be aiming to keep the prices of things as stable as possible. that's the best way to stimulate growth, just by keeping things stable and predictable.
rather than trying to prevent inflation and prevent an inevitable recession, the government needs to allow this recession (part of the natural economic cycle) to occur. interest rates need to be allowed to naturally rise, this will trigger a painful recession in the short-term - nonproductive businesses will close, jobs will be lost, but capital and labor will be freed up for use in other productive areas of the economy, but prevent even worse long-term pain.
tell your government to stop quantitative easing (money printing), stop asset inflation, and allow interest rates to rise. Higher interest rates will discourage borrowing and spending, and encourage personal savings. We must restart non-debt financed capital investment in this country - the true engine of a productive, sustainable economy.
What does abortion have to do with animal rights?
So, you're underpaid and you want everyone else to be underpaid?
they deserve it because all the shitstains of society come eat at those restaurants. f amerifats
You do know that taxes dont have to increase at all....just dont give refunds or i dunno cut the defence spending by 90%
>i dunno cut the defence spending by 90%
Do you actually believe that a small amount of money is spent on our military?
correct, america has a spending problem, not a taxation problem
A doctor that provides a necessary service to women that enables them to have control over their own bodies should make as much as any other doctor.
Next.
No no. Underpaid insinuates they're making less than they're worth. You have to be worth something to make something.
No, they'd lay off workers and make the rest work harder.
>trusting the FY 2019 budget to be a good predictor of future debt
>not adjusting for inflation
>being a shill
>MFW
Yes that's exactly what will happen
I think the minimum should be 10. I don't even make 15 and I bust my ass in a wharehouse.
(My area is economically poor. But the cost of living is super low and only really bad in one smapl part of town.)
Yes and he, if he has his certs and degree is being underpaid at $20. He's being underpaid and that makes him feel that others should also be underpaid.
This graph is entirely topical and does nothing to outline the environment in which each president first took office.
If you use this graph to argue from ANY viewpoint, you are categorically retarded.
~54% is spend on the defence. I said cut that by 90%.
>The issue of people being poor in arguably the richest nation in the world is not because they are lazy.
I didn't say they were lazy. Having started off in lower-end jobs (including warehousing) I know the lower the pay the more strenuous the work. Humans are inefficient at many lower-end jobs, it makes more sense to have a machine do them.
>And the argument of "automation will mean less jobs!" means that your taxes will skyrocket due to the endlessly increasing population that cant find work that has to be supported with welfare.
Automation will result in more jobs. One day, it may theoretically lead to a jobless world but by that point we will have completely reconsidered the economy. We won't see full automation for at least a generation.
Then they should get a better job
I don't eat fast food like a pleb so I have no opinion.
How do they do that while working 40+ hours a week just to support themselves?
Shocked no one has tossed out the..."but the mexicans are taking all our jobs" bullshit yet.
You mean themselves and their 8 kids and the 9th on the way.
that graphic is adjusted for inflation. and you don't really need a budget to know that current administration spending will outpace the previous one...
The money has to come from somewhere. I argued it would likely be from taxes because this country has a enormous fetish for corporate welfare and I doubt corporations would ever let the burden fall on them in any meaninful sense. Walmart already uses the general public to subsidies its own workforce in the form of taxes.
144 hours in a week. Yeah NO extra time in there. I commonly work 60-80 hour weeks. Fuck them if they're that lazy.
Does she not like Big Macs?
And I'm saying 144 because I'm giving them a day off.
yes, but only if the market will bear it. however, companies have already calculated the price points where sales will start to decline, and can only price just up to that point without losing money.
given a choice, companies will choose the option which causes them to make the most money, or lose the least amount of money. in the case of McDonalds, the clear choice is to reduce the number of workers and increase the use of automation.
The fast food places could actually have standards if they paid people more. Chick fila pays their workers on around 2 to 5 dollars more per hour. There is a reason why the floors are never sticky and the workers are happy at chick Fila.
Damn. Last president to post a surplus was nearly 90 years ago.
How did the Republicans go from surplus to the actual great depression??
Also dat gap... Reagan spending 1.86T in the 80s is the largest % increase.
>"fiscally responsible"
Just because you do it, doesn't mean that should be the norm. 60-80 hour work weeks is fucking insane. I was working 75 per week during the summer and fuck that noise, it'll never happen again. Life was literally work sleep work sleep.
>be lady
>husband fought in dubbya dubbya tew
>came home from war
>got factory job to make ends meet
>never worked at much else
>lady was a homebody because hubby had job
>hubby dies
>factory job had shit retirement plan
>government pays bare minimum to spouse
>way of life doesn't match current economy
>thrown in to work force to make ends meet
>too old to educate for better job
>stuck working at McDonald's and will probably die before retirement
>needs $15 an hour
Nigga please
So they're not supposed to sleep? Realistically there are 6-8 usable hours per day for school assuming they do literally nothing else (such as buy groceries).
Or perhaps you should also be paid more for the services you provide to the community.
You know, like sucking dick and shooting black guys.
>usa hasnt been profitable since the 20s
No, never? I'm French and mcdonalds here don't HAVE counters. You pay at the machine, and it's great.
Have you heard of crabs in a bucket. Youre in the bucket, stop pulling people down.
Like several people already point out, the issue is a spending problem not a tax problem. They already get a ton of money they(congress) just sucks at balancing a checkbook and all the departments over spend. Sometimes saying no and letting shit shut down is what needs to happen.
>Cop here
Fuck right off.
Fuck wish that worked like that here is the states.
Don't get a job that can be replaced by a robot. Instead get a job that lets you install and fix that robot.
Sleep 8, work 8, now do the math, realllllllyyyyyy slow. Even if they only spend a couple hours a day learning something, it adds up. I taught myself IT skills and now make very good money. Poor people love making excuses. Only the mentally ill and physically disabled have excuses and still many of them rise up.
inevitably, there will be a crisis of confidence and the Dollar stands to lose its position as international reserve currency. when that happens, nobody will care about the causes and circumstances under which the massive debts were incurred. they will gratefully abandon the devalued currency and jump to the most stable option available.
Mainstream news is designed to keep you from learning that we live in a bubble economy about to burst. Assets are continuously inflating, giving people a false sense of wealth. Government inflation measures such as CPI have been repeatedly changed to understate inflation. Federal Reserve interest rate controls are effectively broken and stuck at or near zero for many years now. Inevitably, the rest of the world will realize we have no choice but to default on our obligations.
My arguement is directed as these retards.
Well if he was a cop in new mexico, teens, homeless, and crazy people are the ones who get shot. Race has no play.
But if they go to 15 an hour, then many other industries will rise, cost of goods and services will rise, and you will make 20-25 an hour, and all will be as it was, and they will still complain because they either lack ability or drive to rise above doing the bare minimum. People just don't like to admit that every society has a bottom rung of society. It's just how people are as a whole.
A few hours of self-learning won't earn you a job without having an in. You get a degree or you get fucked.
This is the attitude I don't get. If you are making $15 and minimum wage is raised to $15 what do you think will happen to your wage? You will either get an increase or you could threaten to jump ship to a job stocking shelves without risking getting shot daily.
That pressure will force your income to rise when they realize they can't retain police at the absolute shit pay you currently get.
Ah, ditto. The day a walking talking robot with a gun replaces ground troops in the US military is the day when burger flipers need to be worried, else fuck it keep flipping burgers.
Absolutely. In addition they should have a four day work week. Americans have been over worked and under paid for decades.
Higher minimum wage = higher prices of everything. If someone who whines about barely making it by, look for another job. Construction workers average $14.87/hr nationwide. You do not deserve $15/hr flipping burgers when theres a dude hauling equipment with his bare hands making less than you.
Some countries inflation rates would go through the roof because they’d start printing off $100 bills but have nothing to back it up. So those $100 bills are worth about $0.50 in the US. Just cause it sounds like more, doesn’t mean it is more.
I actually had a cashier tell me while looking at the menu "You know you can place your order at the kiosk over there?" All I could think was "You have something here that is going to steal your job one day, and you are telling me to use it? Idiot."
Very very wrong. Stop making fucking excuses for the lazy. Also lrn2code.
But history disagrees with you. There was a time when minimum wage was enough to live on. You could afford rent everywhere. Students could get jobs and save up for a good car. So why not make America great again, by paying people a living wage.
I hire people for those jobs and no, not wrong.
Get a degree or fuck off in this field.
Id rather pay a hooker $15 an hour than a burger flipper. I'd rent the bitch out for a 12 hours and she can make me food, clean, and be my cum dump for the day.
But I'm a crab in a bucket, and I'm too stupid to let go.
>do you think people who work deserve minimum wage
When wages are not adjusted through out the pay scale this ruins the economy. What message are you sending besides "having no talent and crying a lot will ensure you can always support yourself, working hard and keeping your head down will keep you ignored".
Literally the exact opposite of promoting effort. I support whatever minimum wage the money press decides on, but closing the gap between that and people with honest careers is beyond incompetent
The fact that you said "haul equipment with his bare hands" says to me that you are at best an academia type who romanticizes blue collar or at worst but understands nothing about it or a raging faggot attracted to bears
Move to the sticks. You want to live in an area you can’t afford, deal with it. Apparently others can, so the rent is higher. I shouldn’t have to entertain your fantasies by paying more at a fucking fast food place
Debt is just a tiny fraction of the problem, look up the fiscal gap sometime. Agree on government meddling and economic downturns. Harding had a major economic depression, did nothing, and the economy surged back with the roaring 20s. A decade later, a similar downturn occurred, Hoover and Roosevelt meddled heavily, and it dragged on until the next world war.
I don't really agree with that. Not to sound flippant, but I've hired and promoted many people who were able to consistently demonstrate a few basic skills: honesty, reliability, punctuality, and a hard work ethic. Advanced skills are always a bonus, and can be picked up on the job, or taking a couple of night courses. Invest in yourself and work each day to prove your worth. You may have to switch jobs or relocate to be recognized and rewarded, but opportunities definitely are out there.
The old "it's not what you know it's who you know" is largely a cop out by people who lack to the motivation to do any of the above...
You fucking moron. If the burger flipper job increases, imagine how the construction job would increase.
This is why we're fucked.
You have to ask that question on Yea Forums?
kek
Oh please explain wise one
Also to point out the obvious you know people in manufscturing and oil drilling jobs wear gloves right?
Not how it works.
I've been looking and found jobs that 'requires' a 4 yr bachelor's degree. The job pays only $15 per hr. WTF
Lol are you saying the "self taught" people have any chance against a guy with a degree?
Your help-desk IT job barely qualifies as a STEM field, and you know damn well anyone without a 2 year degree goes right into the shredder.
over heard an old lady in target complaining she doesnt like to use the self checkout because it stole someones job...fucking boomers
OH so instead of dealing with the income inequality issue we should just say fuck the 99 percent. I guess you live your life like a capitalist everyday.
Yes it is, that's called capitalism.
yes exactly right. but it's not just minimum wage, it's basically any industry with a distorted economy caused by government intervention (minimum/maximum prices, subsidies, etc...). higher education > govt backed student loans > increased tuition costs. healthcare > socialized medicine > increased healthcare costs. etc
No. I’ve worked fast food (like most have) and it’s mindless work. If they get $15, you have to raise everyone’s salary as well proportionately to balance It out.
No, it's not. Price fixing isn't capitalism, and doesn't lead to magic rises in wages.
It's a smokescreen, a symptom. The real problem is the insane run away spending.
that was probably before the govt discovered how to "tax" people indirectly through inflation by printing and spending its own money
Key word...mindless. You don't paid to think, you do and thats it. So its not worth $15 an hour.
When jobs were tight, companies threw in random qualifications that had little to do with anything just to reduce the pile of applications to a reasonable level. Like a 4 year degree because reasons. Now that more jobs are available, those kind of stupid qualifications are being dropped because they actually need people, and sometimes they're even willing to train.
Ahh.. So minimum wages is now called price fixing. I'm sure you also think taxation is theft.
You silly little larper.
Which incidentally also increased dependence on the government, because inflation devalues savings and thus discourages from saving, and instead forces them to rely on the government for their care when they're old. It's a vicious cycle.
There was a time when property values depended on the value of the property, not dirty jewish tricks. There was a time when welfare was shameful and barely enough to make ends meet, not a free ride. There was a time when people saved money, paperclips, tinfoil, and jam jars - as opposed to shooting up and having the disregard for humanity to complain about wages. There was a time people had to plan for kids and be responsible, not be rewarded with drugs and money for being baby factories.
There was a time when people were less shit and you could actually cut corners and get away with it. Being poor and living in a fold up house was okay. There were laundromats everywhere and riding a bike did not out you as a drug dealer.
There was so much different about yesteryear that you simpletons with your broad arguments will never understand. You don't want to and how much information or knowledge can you absorb with your shit "well I know everything already because of this wikipedia article I read and because I am a fast talking angry little shit who will simply deny everything that makes me look wrong". None of you want to learn, yet you all keep crying with a lack of shame that makes it obvious to everyone else that you could not accomplish shit if the government threw more money at you.
>husband fought in WW2
Is she 96?
It's the equivalent of price fixing, on the job market side. That's literally what the word means, your feelings don't redefine reality.
minimum wage goes up then everything else goes up besides people's pay who don't work minimum wage job also fucking those people over.
Absolutely not. Replace them all with tablets, best fast food experience I've ever had was ordering through a tablet.
half of that is low-balling and can be ignored, the other half is legitimate. there is a such thing as an entry-level college degree job, where you're expected to demonstrate your skills. so apply and discuss what kind of compensation you realistically can expect 2-3 months into the job, then work towards that. if you don't see the increase, improve your productivity or find another job.
Demagogue is my name, the poors are my game.
I dunno... removing a massive portion of the health insurance industry has only had positive price effects in every country that has a socialized option.
Same with schools.
Your slippery slope is a little dry.
$25 minimum wage is better
this, exactly.
Forgot to mention she was dumb enough to think social security would have helped.
>it works I said so because haha fags
I can only imagine how running this hard from your incompetence is gonna fuck people later in life
>raising minimum wage means everyone else makes more money too.
You're a fucking moron
>oh ho you used words and we have a new thing to argue about now
When you have no awareness of how stupid you are, the possibilities are limitless
that's exactly what it is, an artificial price floor on the cost of labor.
The wealthy faggots are forgetting the real cost of ignoring the poor...
How are you going to ignore being mugged. Have fun going to your gentrified downtown cuisine, watch your fat fucking backs.
it's a positive effect as long as you're on the receiving end of the benefit and someone else has to worry about the cost. you should check out the other effects in the other countries which have adopted these expensive healthcare systems. guess how much it costs to buy a car in Denmark these days...?
Hold on. They have to come up with more stupid shit to say
>be white
>live in a EU "first world" country
>work an IT job after graduating 6 years of university
>cost of like everything is the same or even higher than in the rest of western countries
>get paid 9 USD per hour
The last thing I need to hear are some IS teenagers complaining tgey have harder lives than their boomer parents. When they get paid 15 dollars for the shitiest job
Invest money in the body bag industry...fuckers are going to be in high demand in the future when shit hits the fan.
Retail does that already
No minimum wage is not price fixing.
Price fixing is an agreement between participants on the same side in a market to buy or sell a product, service, or commodity only at a fixed price, or maintain the market conditions such that the price is maintained at a given level by controlling supply and demand.
Minimum wage was created to stop companies from taking advantage of the people, to set a living wage because those people are worth that wage and it sets a bottom for the entire work force and it raises everyone else's wages from that point because of a person's ability to say, this person with a job of less worth is being paid more than me. I will quit unless you pay me more and I will go do that easier higher paying job. You know, part of the foundations of capitalism. Minimum wage sets a bottom on labor, price fixing sets a static price that may or may not have any value that reflects its true value and cannot be changed.
Increasing wages = more people with money to spend = more customers = more retail jobs...
Also if wages had kept up with inflation for the last 50 years, the min would be around $25/Hr.
Cost of living will always very, specially in the desirable areas.
Sounds like you fucked up somewhere. Maybe you're incredibly shitty about negotiating your wage?
Said the billionare
>fast food
>restaurant
>you wouldn’t want this nice old lady to go hungry.....right anons?
>raise minimum wage to 15 an hour
>lady loses her job to a tablet
progress
dude rookies start at 23 an hour. what kind of poor shithole do you live in?
It's the average wage in my region, the best I could negotiate for my junior job position you dimwit.

Now she got a job delivering food to fat fucks that can't even be bothered to use a drive thru
"Who you know" is more prevalent in certain industries and especially certain countries. I'm sure plenty of people use it as an excuse though.
Recently (couple months ago) hired a girl with a good work ethic, but no experience in our industry. She has already made herself a real asset in the office.
if that's true, then any company would be happy to raise wages in order to get more customers and maximize their own profit. it hasn't happened, and won't ever happen, because what you are saying is not true.
>I know we were actually debating a topic but now I would like to argue the definitions of words and convince you how willing I am to actually consider anything by writing a blogpost on my superior knowledge of the english language
what do local costs of living have to do with an arbitrarily imposed govt tax?
>increasing the wage of one class of worker leads to all these things I am going to imply and there are 27 things wrong with what I am saying but if you even point out that I improperly said "wages" I will screech and mock you into oblivion.
No you
You don't have any argument or rationale beyond your feelings, so you're sperging. We get it. You're just really really dumb.
>reliability, punctuality, and a hard work ethic
This you can coast for a year just doing this...
Man shiet I finna betta get muh $15 a hour pay cuh I cant feed my fam yo. My gurl already on dem EBT card n shiet we eating good cuh I got dem boys poppin out of her easy. We got 6 kids now yo. Pay me moar aite cuh.
Yeah. Real concern here. Bring on the adhd faggots who can't even get clues about a conversation more than one post deep to argue with you who are convinced they will be able to improve anything over hard working people they hate so much
>I dunno... removing a massive portion of the health insurance industry has only had positive price effects in every country that has a socialized option.
>Same with schools.
prove it, you saying it only makes it a poorly informed opinion.....
It's exactly like price fixing, on the other end. Notice your entire argument is based on feelings and intentions, the idea that it was created to help people, to provide a "living wage". You make no argument for it, you just use emotions to justify it, and then use magical thinking to extrapolate all kinds of magical results because it's what you want to believe.
That's idiotic.
>I am gonna be dumb and call other people dumb. Its foolproof.
You started it. You're the one who resorted to emotion and name calling.
You don’t understand that minimum wage is the minimum no matter what amount it is, even if it was 1000$ that would have to be the minimum and everyone else’s salaries and prices for everything would go up.
Data shows that raising the minimum wage has been good. You can have an opinion but there is data. I encourage you to look at data since the creation of the minimum wage.
businessinsider.com
watches don't have a gender, fool.
That's the solution! Minimum wage $1,000/hour. If all the stupid benefits you think will magically happen by raising the minimum to $15 are great, that would be even better right?
>he really believes this
>behind paywall
Nice try, shill
you clearly dont understand the concept of inflation, do you.
I'm running on incognito, and android, chrome and I didn't run into a paywall.
doesn't like ad blockers, apparently
fuck them
Shill don't use ad blockers?
I used to have a job training people on these. Luckily here in smalltowncalifornia.exe no one ever uses these for any reason. Got boring because people would yell at me for doing my job. I knew I was replacing myself but man I needed the job at the time. Eventually they gave up and I just worked the counter and drive-thru like everyone else.
Denmark also has a higher car and home ownership rate per capita than the US
>you are the one who finally gave up on my blatant surface knowledge instead of ignoring my gradeschool implications from the beginning
And time after time, you get the same "I am going to act as dumb as how offended I am, my justification being I think the other person is doing it, because the world must be fair"
None of you cba to ever even try being a better person. Justification literally the same as "I might consider improving once everyone else in the world improves first", then complaining about the state of society. A joke.
Bullshit

Enjoy your muslims and automated McDonald's Eurocuck
No, shit costs a lot more and the profits are all going to the 1 percent. It means they are taking too much because the 99 percent is getting fucked. It's a balancing act, and ths rich have become too fat.
Let's make something very clear. You're not just dumb, you're not just an emotional crybaby who resorted to name calling because you couldn't formulate an argument, you're an actual, literal monster. It's people like you, who try to force their monstrously ill-conceived ideas into policy that have caused nearly everything bad in the world. You're the living embodiment of evil.
Plus you don't even know how to greentext, faggot.
I'm all in favor of a $15/hr minimum
any job that deserves less than that is better done by a robot
and I, for one, welcome our new robot overlords
Yeah that's cause the cost of living is stupid you fuckin autist.
Yes, but a $1000 minimum wage will solve all that. Because magic, right?
They found more profitable loopholes and control the media message that you should work for bottom barrel wages and long hours. This leads to high stress and poor health which feeds into the bloated and byzantine healthcare system which has costs exploding over the last 40 or so years by greedy fucks on Wall Street who hide their wealth in off-shore accounts and dump millions on politicians to keep wages low, healthcare as purely for-profit and to give them even larger tax cuts and credits while they continue to off-shore or mechanize the workforce which only leads to higher stress and poorer health.
No I missed the sarcasm part at the end, I'm bad and I should feel bad
Once they take over, the human maximum wage will be set at $1/day, and that's one for the really good jobs, like smarmy house toadie or personal lickspittle.
Low tier morons view the world by questioning if people "deserve" things. Fuck your stupid deontology. They should receive a higher pay to provide them a wage closer to that of a living wage.
But I like giving money to beggars at the street corner. They wash my Bentleys windows and offer me blow jobs. What could possibly go wrong?
absolutely. they deserve more than that. why is somebody's time and energy so fucking cheap? if you could sell hours of your life for $15 each, would you? Not just like you die earlier, i mean you get older sooner. Like if you were to sell 5 years you'd just age 5 years. This doesn't even include the fact of how worn out you are from the day, and preparations you make for the other days.
working to live is fucking old century political science. we have the technology and sociology to make it so nobody starves or needs to work to live, only to have nice things, yet we just aren't doing it cause "who would do things for free xD"
Your post is one big insult that you expect someone to read and respond to with any kind of clarity, in spite of you believing any of the insults you stated. You are doing the exact opposite of putting any effort into salvaging any part of a conversation you have "feelings" about and dancing away like a fool saying "nu uh" to any attempt to point it out.
You really are taking peoples inability to reach through the phone lines and strangle you to its max benefit, but I would not be proud to brag about that being your only talent.
>lets be clear
It does make me smile when you purposely say the opposite of what you are trying to do. But only in a if I did not laugh I would cry way
No we don't, not yet. Automation at that level is decades away, at least.
You're still a monster.
Lacking empathy is a sign of low IQ.
Good.
If my choices are monster or fairy, I am satified with my lot
but we aren't making social preparations to accommodate it. everyone is worred about the economy says people are losing jobs. but that's not a bad thing. it's a bad thing under captialism but overall it's a very good thing. people are going to need to find a way to make it work.
die loser.
15/hr puts you in the top 1.1% of the world in terms of income. a retard with no education does not deserve that. try managing three high level university courses in a double major. it's a lot more exhausting than standing around smelling fries and burning meat and picking a few things up.
You don't make choices. That requires reason, thought, the ability to engage your higher intellectual capabilities instead of emotions.
It's a long way away. We're currently going though a burst of interest in AI for instance, but most people don't realize how shallow it is. We're automating things, but it's largely very dumb and simple things.
McDicks employee here. I get paid 9.80 an hour and it is fucking overpayment for the work. The only thing that makes the job trying is the sheer volume of orders at times and having to work with retards (read: the same troubles in every job ever). This type of work was not meant to support a family nor should it. All the food would have to double in price to justify a stupid wage like 15 an hour.
killing niggers is a public good
>I have been shown to be an idiot three times over and here I am without the better judgement to cut my losses, ignore it, or participate in the discussion elsewhere that I am pretending to be interested in.
Its like an addiction that you try to convince yourself doe not exist by explaining to yourself how it does not exist. It might not be your fault that there are people that take you seriously, but not being ashamed to be playing in shit should have its own mentally ill label
Yes you idiot. You can't fool me.
>9.80 an hour and it is fucking overpayment
It all depends on where you work
CA minimum wage is $11
$15 might be too high in OK but too low in CA.
That's why this thread is retarded.
rural shitholes get 15 an hr that why their all corrupt. they even have monthly quotes bunch of fucking jobbers.
California is a fucking shithole with a ruined economy. They're answer is to tax the ballsack off of everything.
i hate white people
People fall apart with out work. Our brains need the stimulant and accomplishment of work. It makes you humble and accept where you are while putting things to scale. Living off of the things that just waste time like social media show the top % of peoples lifes usually and devalue yours to want more and you have no mechanism to make yours any better. The pursuit of happiness is what makes you happy. There is no finishing point where you are happy, an adult, successful, loved, liked, or accomplished. These all need to be reinforced to yourself every day or its effect is diminished a bit in your brain. If you aren't helping societ directly or being apart of actively trying to raising children smarter than you are there is no reason to live amongst this species.
As a cable guy im making 17 an hour in ohio, which is among the lowest living cost states in the country. If a faggot at McDonald's gets paid that much then I better be getting paid 35 an hour
He was depicting an average everyday nigger, not a white person.
accurate
Died?
It is kind of spitting in your face when the opposite always happens. I do not think there is any reasonable way to think the government does not realize that

I am aware of that but niggers are 10% of the population and 27% of that are poor, but white people are 70% of the U.S and 41% of the nations poor.White people fuck themselves to hurt 3.7% of the population. that is why I hate white people.
Fitting just like military a fast food worker is better than you.
Owned
You may be able to survive on minimum wage but you can never retire. Especially now with social security about to collapse and 401K/stock market severely overvalued. So yeah, $15 is fine. Statistically speaking, the only people who oppose this are the bosses and people that make around that much already. People need to feel better about themselves so they wont vote for it. Total evolutionary monkey brain logic.
Maybe you should try to fit in an economics and ethics course.
Yeah I don't see that plan solving over 17 trillion. Explains iraq tho.
Well it depends where they live.
If she lives in New York, she deserves more than $15/he
If she lives in buttfuck Alabama, she probably doesn't even deserve close to 15, because she can live off of way less due to a lower cost of living.
Most giant corporations that use minimum wage labor are very very profitable and pay almost no taxes. Basically government subsidized because workers need free gov benefits like healthcare.
So who should pay? You and your taxes or the fucking scum company?
I make very good money for my age bracket and I have no degree. I know many people making 100-200k a year with no degree.
I know tons of people in IT related jobs with no degree but tons of experience who make bank. I've also worked with tons of morons with degrees who didn't know shit.
And this is easily observed in poor welfare communities or rich trust fund kids popping pills. Lack of meaning leads to depression in almost all cases. Some can find their meaning without work but it's rare.
>where you live dictates what you deserve
If it was the same people could chose where to live and the places that needed to improve themselves would become obvious as opposed to literally hiding their competitive differences under wage adjustments.
You are arguing that one of the exact things that keeps ghettos ghetto and suburbs enforcing your right to keep your garage door open is proper.
Who should pay or who will rich lobbys belonging to these rich giants make pay?
Surprise everyone with dumb opinions appeased by handouts actually make a difference. Too many people have been treated like crap. Too many things are worth less than money and its ownership is too unfairly shifted. Its too late
Roommates
Literally no rich person would live in the US and we would lose the 90% of tax support we currently get from them.
Abortion is not a necessity.
You shits in favor of the ridiculous minimum wage hike don't realize that the money has to come from somewhere which will be in price hikes AND layoffs. Outsourcing will increase, unemployment will be through the roof, and there WILL be a spike in inflation. A minimum wage isn't supposed to be decent pay. It's meant to be babby's first job. Reducing living expenses is as easy as finding a roommate.
People need validation and work is the most streamlined way to accomplish that. It is so bleeding simple that lazy people cannot help but spend twice as much effort explaining why they cannot or should not work versus simply working. In addition PC culture dictates that stable people with successful lives have no right to disagree with people that willingly sabotage themselves and everyone who tries to "help" them while demanding just one more handout to succeed.
Successful people are being attacked for knowing and doing what works. No one is trying to fix this and a large number of people actually believe that they derive joy from driving this coffin nail in further.
Entropy is a thing. The meek might inherit the earth but don't expect them to do much with a pile of garbage.
People don't understand that if their job is getting paid the same as an easier job, they can leave for the easier job. If your current boss values your employment you will be offered more money to stay. Have you people never negotiated for a raise? If the minimum wage goes up, it will be very easy to demand more money.
These persons want the world to give them less responsibility, under the delusion it will help them. Or they say fuck it, I want mine screw the consequences why is the world so bad.
Honestly I cannot blame people saying fuck it. The uphill battle nowadays really is becoming impossible to navigate. No one willing to sacrafice trying for a better tomorrow may be speeding it along, but so much proof that tomorrow won't be better is hard to argue with. I just wish there weren't so many people proud of contributing nothing.
>money has to come from somewhere
We know where the money has gone. Try googling income inequality you billionare bootlicker.
>I'm underpaid so others should be too
Murrican capitalism at its finest
Why not. Would you work for only $15 / hour?
If you want to criticize wages, better start at the top.
There are plenty of people that have a job, but basically are not able to do anything useful and fuck things up.
They can very well get decent meals at dollar stores, leaving them with up to 10 dollars a day if they ration it and walk to work.
Just because they're bad at administering their wealth doesn't mean their pay is low.
Refer to With just 1 hour of work a day they could live decently, now mind a 4 hours a day job, means 4 times more money.
So all the billionaires are going to donate to every business to increase wages. Good thinking Timmy! Santa will bring you TWO presents for being so smart!
You do realize that the lowest class in America is better off than literally 90% of the rest of the world, right? Why don't you use some of your own international income inequality to pay for Africans who earn a dollar every six months?
>With just 1 hour of work a day they could live decently
How are you gonna pay a house with only $15 a day?
I guess you didn't Google income inequality. You can type the words. That's a good start.
>expecting fast food not to be fast over good
Stop buying it while business models are forced to adjust because they cannot lower the minimum wage and you might see a change. Expecting a business that is even 1% profitable to not continue experimentally cutting corners is like expecting a dog not to bark before you reward it versus only rewarding dogs who don't bark.
People have to be the change they want to see, not expect changes to happen while they continue to participate.
It has been said that the government could be crippled if everyone decided to not purchase gasoline for one day. It could be accomplished by everyone making efforts to rideshare, biking when possible, limiting frivalties. However everyone is so beat and forced into argumentative stances that something so simple as working together is a strategy that corporations and other powerhouses do not have to worry about or plan for.
The fact that this is obvious and still cannot be accomplished says loads about indoctrination and the mindset people have that they won't ever make a difference. No one should expect sacrafices to be made they will not themselves make and yet that is exactly what is wrong and why control is so easy. People unwilling to be fair want things to be fair and that just is not how things work.
But I do understand your sentiment.
blocks of yellow metal for cotton cabbage papers
Gold aint worth shit if we say it aint
You are right. It IS gone. That means from this point forward it has to come from somewhere else. There are no coffers.
>You do realize that the lowest class in America is better off than literally 90% of the rest of the world
If you are the porest guy in town, life is hard. Knowing that in some African town you would be the richest doesn't help.
Work first and save earnings before doing the idiotic "hurr dad mom i are move out durr cuz i indepundant nao" thing.
If you know you can't afford a living, don't jump into basically your own homelessness.
>I guess you did not google the thing I cba to explain. Rest assured I do actually know what I am talking about.
Daily reminder that if you where born poor your parents are losers.
Yeah, because they're getting paid above average. Whatever the minimum is, it's not going to change their work ethic, they literally can't make less.
You keep using that phrase but it's not doing anything for any business that's not a mega corporation, faggot.
>Work first and save earnings
So how much can you save with only $15?
How much does a house cost?
And what do you say? Hurr durr my mom and dad pay everything for me until i have enough money to buy a house?
Pretty accurate. Not to mention we have already provided pretty good evidence that throwing money at people who cannot help themselves is about as useful as burning it.
The only thing you get are people agreeing with whoever has the ability to throw the most money at them.
They won't have those jobs for long anyway.
Don't Americans pay these guys basically nothing?
You're a cop for $15 an hour? That is fucked
People who work the hardest traditionally remain in lower income brackets. If you are ashamed of hard working parents you have issues. It is not fair to assume that what once was not considered poor is now shameful or irresponsible just because the definition changed.
There are also properly irresponsible people who are poor but they do not constitute everyone
A few sour apples completely destroys the support any of the cops who work hard might earn.
Every burger flipping tween deserves a house now?
I'd be fine with higher minimum wage if the science actually supported it. But when Seattle tried this, the independent study found it just made all the businesses severely cut hours. McDonald's will just stop being open 24hrs. Same for grocery stores. Packaging centers that stay open the same amount just broke full time employees down to part time and hired more, so they could fuck people out of benefits.
I think the federal minimum wage needs to be pegged to inflation, but if we raise it all at once then its small businesses that get fucked most of all, and it basically serves as a form of regulatory capture for large corporations. Furthermore, there's a complication then based on how inflation is measures, since there's multiple ways of doing it, and we changed methods in 1973, but some people still use the price basket method that didn't account for service economy jobs. And then academic measurement suddenly gets a shit ton of lobbyists pressuring (with hookers and blow) professors to say inflation didn't go up this year. The law won't actually respond to academic consensus- it will just elect some dude to do this for the treasury department or something and that guy is gonna be corrupt as fuck.
That's a fucking stupid argument. Why does not being able to pay your rent = spitting in some random guys food? Only a real low life would do this, the sort of person who doesn't deserve employment anywhere.
Depends on how much you realize the need to sacrafice and put in the effort to pass this entry level hurdle opposed to demanding burger flipping be a valid career.
>not being appeciative that there are no talent entry level jobs instead of demanding more consideration for camping in them
This is why automation is a thing.
It is obviously well known that it does not work. Maybe someday people will realize that they are all being treated as expendable for the views of a small minority and do something about it.

>>Why don't you use some of your own international income inequality to pay for Africans who earn a dollar every six months?
Oh so because there are people in need in other places we should just be happy with billionaires sucking up all the resources. You think there aren't billionaires sucking up the resources in those poor countries? They are global, and just because USA has money doesn't mean their isn't extreme income inequality.
You seem to think that economics is a zero sum game. It isn't. You fucking retard.
I think these old people need to get out of the worker pool, Thats part of the problem now a days as to why millennials and college grads can't get jobs. These 65 yr olds are nut hugging their jobs and need to GTFO.
As for 15$/hr wage, The liberal in me says yeah, give it to them, the college educated guy who makes 21$/hr says 15 is probably too much.
Companies definitely take advantage of these people and minimum wage is bullshit but my wife makes 15$hr w/ a bachelors in a very specialized career that none of those McNerds could do.
McDonalds is definitely a young adult whos in schools type job, Pay those kids fairly, if you are in your 40s and MickyDs is your career, you kind of fucked your own life up and I dont think 15$ an hour will help you.
Fastfood workers may get it one day, but they will be going a lot more work and all ordering will be automated, Hell, They may even automate some management things like schedule making, Food/Supply ordering etc, that would probably save them some money too.
>Entry level position designed for high schoolers still living at home with no bills
>Unskilled labor
>Part time hours
>Plethora of workforce willing to take job for less
Absolutely fucking not. I do agree that in some states, such as New Mexico, their wages are drastically too low. NM doesn't have minimum wage and as such they can go as low as the federal minimum wage which is like $5.25 an hour or some shit. That's just insane and not even worth showing up to work for.
However, where I live in Illinois, minimum wage is like $8.25 which makes it worth everybody's time.
If a company wants to pay you $9 - $10 an hour for unskilled labor, so be it and that is their choice and good on them for making that choice. But no company should be forced to pay $10+ to a high schooler to flip a burger or scrub a toilet.
Additional, the vast majority if business in America is small business who may not be able to afford $15 to their employees, but need employees to continue business. It has been shown this increase will hurt small business.
Likewise, inflation will increase as more money is dumped into the economy. Renters will start charging a fucking assload more, groceries will go up, taxes will go up... Then those who worked for years, built up a skill set, went to college, etc will be forced back at the bottom of the economy.
Which literally is nothing. I had to move because NY cost of living too expensive. My cousins best friend is a pediatrician and has to move out of state because the cost of living is too high and already has roommates.
Not only did you fuck up quoting again, you introduced another error. Here's your reply.
So i guess buinessess like that will only be open after highschool gets out?
>I think people dedicated to working for a living are the problem
If you do not think job availability increases with demand based on a progressive increase in population and need to support societies' infrastructure I have no idea what to tell you.
The job pool is definitely not a constant and muicipal careers are seeing a decline in employees with no sign of a lessening demand. Most of these jobs are logistically unable to be automated at this time. This issue can be discovered with a little research or if you believe anything Mike Rowe says.
People are unwilling to work and spend more time explaining why they can't or shouldn't instead of finding a job. You are mocking the people that are not laying down for welfare buying steak and lobster on your dime.
>billionaires are going to donate to every business to increase wages
Its called fluidity of money.
If a billionaire or millionaire receives another thousand dollars a month how would that affect their spending habits?
It wouldn’t.
If a common person gets it, they spend it, it goes back into the economy. So if a billionare paying their workers more, that money is going to go to local businesses too.
Dropouts need to do something
>plethora of workforce willing to take the job for less.
No not at all. Would provide a pretty fair way to split jobs between aspiring young adults, and older folks with less ability for labor if handled correctly though.

I think people over 65 that won't retire are the problem, Yes. I am mocking people who don't need to work, but continue to do so. They don't need welfare.
Did you even read what I said?
That's not how any of this works. Increasing minimum wages doesn't cut into the CEO's salary. It comes from cutting costs and increasing prices. And as said before, this just fucks over small businesses.
so we are back to square one.
We can hold businesses accountable and make them pay better wages or we let the government pick up the slack because if either don't, Crime and homelessness will increase.
Everyone who works 40 hrs a week deserves a living wage. Tax payers are literally subsidizing employers payrolls so they can pocket more profits and stash them away in offshore accounts while you and I foot the bill for a social safety net that keeps their employees from starving.
Socialism for the rich.
>Only a real low life would do this
what kind of people do you think are working for minimum wage
low lives who cant get a better job
Yes. You are ignoring everything I said and just reasserting your opinions. That won't convince anyone of anything.
How do you know what everyone needs or think they should be punished for being able to accomplish what they want? You really think there is some kind of system in place where you cannot overcome this by being a better worker?
>I think people over 65 that won't retire are the problem
Truth. These people are the scum of the earth.
All three of those groups pay taxes.
That would be illegal here. The whole reason restaurants hire sign workers is because bylaws in most cities prohibit them putting up signs. Guy twirling a sign isn't a sign. An automated sign post would violate the bylaw. He tried to make it look like a person in hopes of not drawing the attention of law enforcement.
what are you even arguing here dude, you are just mumbling off some bullshit without actually arguing a point.
If you think a 65 year old worker can compete with a 30yr old in the same position you are fucking high dude.
Fuck no lmao its not even a real job
What a well explained opinion. Obviously not bait
Why not?
This is one if the shittiest dead end jobs someone could do so I'd be even fine when they 20$/h
Corporations do not pay anywhere bear their share of taxes which is why the middle class has to carry so much of the tax burden.
>haha you are stupid and dumb fam
Well that settles thst I am convinced
All of you are retarded.
Yes, cost of living is high. So are the pay scales.
So basically you all pussed out.
>you are doing exactly what I am doing
Very clever. Much explain. So involve.
U wot m8? You're fucking over the entire economic system for shitbags? You know that this will increase joblessness and overcrowd the unskilled sectors, right?
USA has more guns. cars even money per capita, the highest average wages in the world behind Switzerland. Why do you faggots complain? Oh wait....
I mean what is there to explain? There are government incentives to get people to stop working at a certain age. If its an actual career, they most likely have some sort of retirement plan or pension. They can't compete with the youth and are warm bodies preventing a younger workforce from moving up within the company.
Increasing minimum wages doesn't cut into the CEO's salary, Because they will increase prices and cut costs.
I'm all for a comprehensive approach to stop the billionaires from doing that shit. It's called top marginal tax rates, if the ceos just can't be trusted as you claim then I guess it just needs to be better for the company to invest the money in its workers, facilities and R&D then some greedy piece of shit that us going to lose 60 percent of it to uncle Sam.
It's a tax issue, not a burden issue. The top 10% carry 90% of the taxes.
can't tell if you are memeing. Which option did I give would increase joblessness and overcrown unskilled sectors?
And they should pay more because they still aren't paying the same percentage the rest are.
>they cannot compete yet somehow they are preventing the acquisition of jobs by more competitive workers
Can you explain what conspiracy or incentive makes this possible?
My brother works for Google. He's part of a team that's designing an AI that designs AIs. He always jokes about how weird it is to be working so hard on something that is going to ultimately put him out of a job.
We're looking down a barrel of an AI revolution that is going to hit just about every industry like a runaway train. Lawyers, doctors, engineers. Jobs that have always been safe since before the industrial revolution are going to be hit just as hard as burger flippers and dutch diggers. By 2025 well probably be at over 45% unemployment due to automation and then the shit is really going to hit the fan which is what the 1% are preparing for. They're hoarding their cash in the hopes of riding it out in some safe probably socialist country while the population kills itself off in riots and bloody civil wars. When it's all over and 90% of the world's population has been culled they'll come in and try to rebuild the world in their image. What few humans are needed for jobs will be little better than serfs.

lrn to critical think
the Fed under Greenspan became quite proficient at pushing buttons and pulling levers - keeping interest rates artificially low for an extended amount of time to stave off recession. This manipulation of the natural business cycle has resulted in an exchange of short-term pain (business closures, loss of jobs, etc) for long-term pain (increased severity of a correction in the future). Combined with misguided attempts to "rescue" failing banks, automakers, etc. we have essentially propped up unproductive businesses, preventing that capital and labor from being freed up and employed elsewhere in the economy.
As time passes the distortions created by a centrally planned economy become more apparent, as assets continuously inflate and the country becomes mired in debt, it also becomes less and less competitive with the rest of the world. Additionally, the increased risk from our massively increased national debt calls into question the overall solvency of the currency, and we are already seeing other countries (our lenders) begin to move away from the US dollar as the world's reserve currency. Once the crisis of confidence peaks, and the dollar loses its reserve currency status... it's game over.
The government does not have a solution for this. The cumulative effect of economic stimulus is murder. A recession is needed to allow the economy to cure inefficiencies and return to equilibrium. We need the Federal Reserve to stop printing money and allow interest rates to naturally rise. Rising rates will discourage reckless borrowing and spending, and encourage savings and capital investments. There is a great deal of short term pain down the road to a long term cure for our economy. Good luck getting votes for that...
“The United States can pay any debt it has because we can always print money to do that. So there is zero probability of default...” -- Alan Greenspan

>the government is unwilling to sacrafice or lose face temporarily to benefit its people
Pretty universally accurate
Imagine the difference you might make reallocating the funds spent on obscufating this fact
Maybe just find a job that pays over minimum wage?
It’s not hard to find a job that pays 15
