I'm thinking about getting a cat but I've never taken care of one before. Any advice on adopting a cat and taking care of it?

Don't let them get fat.
I won't
Learn how you can trained them if you don’t want your couch or another things to get shredded
Yes, advice is to hold a party commemorating your loss of freedom for the next 15 years.

They are beautiful cats, they must have a really nice and loving owner.
Get two, cats are highly intelligent and get bored very easily if left alone, thats when they start fucking your shit up. A second cat will keep them amused 24/7
don't become its bitch like every other feminist does and go "oh tee hee those quirky cats do whatever they want, can't control them, might as well let them have control over me"
they can be amusing sometimes
You don't adopt a cat. A cat adopts you. Realise that the cat is your master and treat it so and you will be rewarded.
That kid is a dumb ass
I'm getting two different ends of the spectrum here...
Good kitty
The only healthy way to treat a cat is by showing/teaching mutual respect.
You both must respect eachother space and know where the limits are.
cats are easy to take care off. take em to the vet once every year/2 years.
put a couple of water bowls around the house ( yes a couple so they dont ' forget ' to drink)
they pretty much clean themselves and don't smell like fucking dogs. get them a cat litter house. change it twice a week or so. feed it. ez lyfe
dude they’re easy as fuck, they instinctively teach themselves to use cat litter in like a week even as babies and after that you just leave food out.
Get a dog.
Dry and wet food, water, sandbox. That takes care of things for the moment. Expect all and any surfaces in your home to get scratched. If the cat pisses anywhere but in the sandbox, wash the place thoroughly or it will piss there again - and it has much better sense of smell than you have.
A cat is social when it feels like, but it is truly the egoist of the pet world. Don't expect to buy a fan.
You better have a home where there's not much aggression or whooping and shouting. Cats can develop a lifelong nervousness and then it will shy away all the time.
I have had two cats. Really liked having them. But one pissed down the house, both spread hair all over the place, and both died under car wheels at the nearest road. If not they may have lived their full lives - which can often be up to 12-14 years.
Many places for rent will not accept cat pets.
Short version: you better think this over first. If you have the stablity of life and patience of personality, you will enjoy your feline companion.
Adopt a cat from a shelter and choose one that seems to like you, they need good homes.
Give your cat stuff to climb on, a window to look out and toys. Play with said cat so they don't go stir crazy.
2 cat boxes per cat, invest in good cat litter. Treat your cat well and you will have an awesome new friend for life
decide whether or not you are inferior to something weighs 20x less and is 50x dumber
why would anyone want a dog?
It is the only pet who is actually trying to please you. It's a fantastic hunting and wilderness companion. And it is heavy duty encitement to go on daily walks. If you have an active lifestyle it is a good option.
