i know this isn't a show, but it really fits with the vibes.
you should check out Silent Hill 2(its a self-contained story, so it doesn't require you to have played the previous games). that game is extremely depressing, and like bojack, really goes into the perspective of a flawed protagonist(don't wanna spoil too much, but you really should check it out, even if you don't care at the moment. just emulate the ps2 version.)

Most characters existed exclusively to be a soap box for the writers to stand on. Bojack is surprisingly self aware. Liberal media writers have a tendency to project their own flaws onto characters they write.
