Yea Forums is the jewel in the fucked up crown of Yea Forums, and it's (mostly) not because of the porn. The porn flooders should be the ones to leave, to keep Yea Forums's "mission" intact.
Seems like this was attempted at some point, but instead of a single "random porn" board, they created 13 fairly specific porn boards. Each is far less active than Yea Forums on its own. But all put together? Surely would be a much more active board.
And I'd bet this Voltron random porn board would get a further bump from those like and me who like porn but want to be surprised.

I think it is a combination of factors, two of which I suggest are: (1) a change in demographics of Yea Forumstards and global culture in general along with (2) the changes to the Yea Forums site, especially the animated porn adverts at the top of the NSFW boards.
Every time you go to Yea Forums, you see the overly dramatic fucking and sucking until you can scroll past it. Personally I find it annoying.
And I wouldn't doubt that it influences the selection of images that get posted.
