>Now: This blurry photo is totally enough evidence to convince me it's a real black hole! >Those blurry photos of UFOs, Bigfoot, and the Loch Ness Monster are nowhere near enough to convince me they're real
Why are people so eager to believe any photo released by NASA when they've been faking pictures for decades?
Thats a false equivalence for many reasons. One is the integrity of the source of the images. Big foot sightings are from hillbillies most of the time and you can never get a second pic cause "big foot must be a really good hider!" Black hole pic is from hundreds of scientists working together over 2 years. Secondly, there's lots of non visual evidence to show that the black hole is there/exists, like the immense gravitational field it has on objects nearby. If Big foot was leaving foot prints, fur with a unique DNA never discovered before, or even corpses/skeletal remains, then we would have a reason to take the hillbillies more seriously. Same thing for the other hoaxes you name, unreliable sources and no side evidence to show they exist.

Counter question: why are you so eager to discount it? You'll never see one with your own eyes and it will never affect you in any way. There's also nothing to gain by the providers of the representation "tricking" you.
