I saw Bams Unholy Union back then. I knew that Bam and Missy would be divorced because they were so vastly different. Shit, Missy and April did all the prep while Bam goofed off and got drunk. You can tell Missy was tolerating it.
Bam's problems started a little before Dunn died. He went on a binge before that. Novak confirmed that Bam was headed down the road before hand. He uses Ryans death to drink more but it did make him get worse.
As for fat, its really because the Margera's don't watch what they eat. I remember on the first season episodes where they make Phil stop eating for 24 hours, April talked about Phil's weight and how Bam was hard on him because he is afraid to loose his father and he is afraid of becoming like that. Well, 1 of those nightmares came true. The other one has yet to happen.
