Anyone on Yea Forums legitimately read the satanic bible? A lot of the ideas seemed like common sense to me, taking what you want, embracing sexuality etc. but it mostly seemed like Lavey was just trying to be a massive edgelord with ideas that a goth 13 year old would come up with

I read it. It’s just libertarianism made into a religion. It’s what Ayn Rand would have written if she pulled an L Ron Hubbard. Nothing special.

repent degenerate

>just trying to be a massive edgelord with ideas that a goth 13 year old would come up with

Think about the era he wrote it in.
No internet, no chat rooms, most people identified as christian.

Where is he going to research his ideas? Where is he going to get legitimate feedback?

They say that great men are great because they stand on the shoulders of those who came before. Well, not many people came before him. Some Crowley, some Golden Dawn...if you can find it.

I guess for the era it was definitely pretty extreme, but just seems very cringey 5edgy9me reading it today

Disagree but only because Ayn Rand was anti sex

Shaddup you googoo gaga nigger

I also didn’t understand the part about ritual magic as if throwing a paper into a fire is suppposed to magically make your wish come true. Seems to me that was the main kind of religious bullshit lavey was arguing against

Lavey was a moron. He was one of those people who read the Greeks and Nietzsche and felt he understood what they were getting at. He was a pathetically simpleminded mentality coming from a warped understanding of nihilism. To be fair though most people have a warped understanding of nihilism which became very prominent during Lavey's formative years, specifically due to the Second World War. So really, he wasn't revolutionary, he was a common product of the time he lived. Really though he basically copy/pasted Nietzsche but through a 13 year old emos filter with maybe less intelligence.

If anyone here is actually interested in the notions expressed in this book they’re better off reading Michael Aquino’s works, after all, he was technically the brians behind the book and arguably the Church Of Satan.

Thanks for the info based user. Here’s some satanic tiddies

Yea its a solid book and id consider myself something of a satanist philisophically. You have to take it for what it is. Lavey was a showman and he liked creating controversy.

i read the first couple of pages but it didn't hold my interest for long. i get the idea of satanism though

LaVey satanism IS the embodiment of edgelordiness. There's nothing about it that really has anything to do with satan, it could exist entirely without him. Wrapping it up in satan was just a way to piss off & troll the normies of the time.
I've known a couple Lavey satanists & they were all massive edgelords with shitty attitudes towards everyone.

Eh, the fundamental element that makes actual magic work is belief. Combined, shared belief is especially powerful. Rituals are just a way of focusing & harnessing.

For me I agree with a lot of the basic tenants and had arrived at them being logical before reading the satanic bible, but I found all of the ritual aspects to be a bit cheesey and the same tricks that lavey argued religion was using to manipulate people. But I can understand how it could help devote “mental energy” towards achieving something. I.e. if you believe it, it will happen

Well, he'd already wrapped everything up with a satanic bow, so it made sense that the ritualistic element had satanic tinges. But really the steps & methods of the ritual itself are completely irrelevant.
I lack any ability to prove it, but I think it has to do with the nature of quarks, and how merely observing things on the quantum level changes them. Stuff like the Kek worship here works the same way.

And also the Mandela effect, although that's an entirely accidental form of it.

Bumping for satanic porn
