Chances are no. Universe is big but chances/probabilities of life (which is more complex than you can possibly imagine) have developed anywhere else. Universe would have to be infinite times bigger in order for there to be even a 1% chance so no. No chance.

If we exist, then others can too.

At best there might be some intergalactic microbes that we probably won't be detecting for some thousands of years. If you're thinking of complex lifeforms, the odds are no, and if you're thinking intelligent lifeforms the answer is hell no.

In other galaxies? Probably. In other parts of the Milky Way? Maybe.

I think when most people think of aliens they probably think of space-faring, intelligent civilizations.

Me, I just think of the basic stuff, animals, plants, microbes etc. I think there must be other planets with variations of things. But if not? That's a LOT of big, vast, wasted empty fucking space.

I think the better question is when do they exist?
We're not special. We never were. It's been proven over and over again throughout all of recorded history. The real issue is how long do intelligent creatures last before they blow themselves up? Short of a tyrannical overlord with extreme power that can bend the very nature of reality as a whim, most, if not all, civilizations probably blow themselves up doing what we're doing right now.

Of course they do. The questions are: are they intelligent? Will we be able to understand their evolution? How long will it take humanity to make contact? Will their existence be fathomable for us? But most importantly: Will they subscribe to PewDiePie?

If universe was infinity there's no 1% chance you dumb fuck. If universe was infinity there's 100% chance that there are infinity earths and infinity you as in the exact same person doing the exact same thing.
