If you join the Army and you're young, you really should do it single. Barracks life is pretty structured and there isn't much freedom, but you'll get the full military experience (drinking, shenanigans where you all get fucked up later, barracks parties, followed by a gi party ect...) it can be a lot of fun. Don't be the guy trying to make a long distance thing work. She'll leave you eventually or someone will cheat, it always happens. Especially in basic training, it's best to cut ties and start a fresh chapter of your life without anything holding you back. UNLESSS she's the coolest girl in the world and you enhance each others lives in a healthy way. Don't think you'll find that more than once in life.
My only advice is to communicate to her where your life is going first and see how she reacts. You'll always regret it if you leave her but she turned out to be the one that would have stuck with you through thick and thin. Loyal bitches are rare, skanks you meet and fuck to get your fuck# up are fleeting and will leave you feeling empty later in life. Air Force and work on F16s and shit, you get free training and once you get out, you do reserves and get a job as a contractor working on aircraft at the same post for double to triple the pay. By 28 you'll have a house, a rental property and a few cars or bikes no problem.

I can tell you that anything to do with computers and programming in the military, as long as you can qualify for top secret clearance - will train you and set you up for life and a 6 figure salary. It's really hard though, and I mean REALLY hard + TONS of work and training. You'll end up in different training programs for close to 2 years if you never fail anything.
Intelligence from what I've heard can be hit or miss. The future is anything to do with information technologies. Nuclear is actually really bad, I know a nuclear guy, there's no jobs in the civilian sector for it. Language as in foreign? That depends on if you pick up languages really well, if not, skip it.
