It depends on the writer a lot but Batman is often depicted as incomprehensibly stoic yet still charismatic and charming to keep his allies amicable and has a plan for literally every conceivable outcome and never loses in hand to hand combat or any kind of combat and there's never a puzzle or mystery he can't just throw money at to solve.
Again, it depends on the writer and run. You can tell if it's a good writer for Batman if they actually outline his thoughts because it forces them to nail down what evidence or information Batman does or doesn't have. Also, if he fucks up and his family dislikes him for something he's entirely at fault for.
Year One is pretty good for Batcore, but you get shit like New52 and he's suddenly untouchable.

Hard to say since fuck tons of them don't get any development, sometimes no character at all, often no real interaction to establish how they are socially.

Shepard has at least one flaw, but I'm not sure it was intentional, laziness on the writers part or just their own character traits leaking in. Shepard is tremendously passive. Very often when motivations and options are established in dialogue, it's his subordinates that lay things out for him and prod him to make a decision. It's not as if it couldn't have been written differently, e.g. simply being the one to ask people for options would change it, or shepard telling his crew he's got a plan and then popping up the dialogue wheel to let the player choose what that is before he continues.

Shepard is supposed to be a special forces guy AND command a ship, it's completely out of place for him to essentially be almost void of initiative.

Arguably it's more of a mary sue when you completely shit the bed but the fiction doesn't acknowledge it and people cheer for you anyways. E.g. a main character that stupidly helps the bad guys advance their plot and never catches shit for it when it's exposed, or does blatantly selfish shit and doesn't even have to earn forgiveness, people just keep kissing her ass regardless.
Like, I don't think queen whatever from the starwars prequels is much of a mary sue, but I don't remember her catching much shit or showing any grief for essentially putting palpatine on the throne, the movies just go on like she dindu nuffin.

Fair enough. I only ever saw the first one. It was flashy and loud, but it was shallow. Film made purely for nostalgia purposes, as Lucas pointed out. It wasn't a sci-fi, just an average lowest common denominator Hollywood movie.

What really pissed me off more than anything was his retconning the entire extended franchise into "Star Wars Legends". They threw away a lot of great shit for no reason.
