"crippling the military" is always a go to argument, but never true. The military budget has only increased since its inception, and if you think a 9% increase compared to a 10% increase is "crippling" you are a bit demented.
Speaking of demented, thats the future problem of the military. Finding people smart enough to operate all that expensive shit we buy. The education system is so fucked by now that in abou 10 years we might have a lot of people playing the role of dumb canon fodder in exchange for us calling them "heroes", but I doubt that'll win wars against china.

Honestly, even if that didnt happen, do you think China would be far behind? Its a matter of time until they are in the lead and gain ground. Again, education system. The US is producing generations of idiots, and is less and less attractive to well educated foreigners. China is producing ten times as many highly educated specialists, if not more. Every damn year. Slow people think a wall will solve our problems, but it is only a droplet on an issue that does not matter in the long run. There is no future, if it goes on like this.
