Why haven't you bought a gun yet Yea Forums?
Guns are sexy, cool, and fun to play with. I like to play with myself with my father's guns.

I have at least 6 loaded guns within 25 feet. Looking to but another. Have two shotguns, 12 ga and 20 ga, have .357 magnum revolver, .22 rifle, .308 sniper rifle, and a .410 magnum Judge for when shit hits the fan.

Looking to get more, not sure what else I need.

can you show pics?

Fuck no, why would I want to do that?

A sniper rifle! What model?

.308 weatherby with black walnut stock and badass scope. Only sighted in to 100 yards, but theoretically it can be sighted in to 1000 yards.

Motherfucker bruised my shoulder after putting 40 rounds through it a few weeks ago. Son of a bitch kicks more than a 12 gauge.

You need a Pachmayr recoil pad.

weatherby.com/vanguardr-sporter.html

It has a recoil pad, but we were shooting all day. Probably 200 12 gauge rounds, at least 40 .308 rounds, about 500 9mm just for fun, and whatever else I could find.

you shoot all day and you'll get fucked up, it's not like in the movies. My ears are still ringing and we used protection

I fucking love living in the middle of nowhere.

You are preaching to the choir, young man.

Loicense.

My biggest question is what to get next. I already have a range queen, a fun gun, and a self-defense gun. I hate 9mm, all my friends have them but I think they're just big .22s

What else is worth grabbing? I think of guns as an investment better than stock or bonds.

I was thinking of a .22 revolver, just a wonderful cheap target practice gun. Something like a colt or S&W so it never loses value

youtube.com/watch?v=2uDic9jklv4

22lr is fun. But in all reality, 9mm or something like that would be more practical, shtf, and just overall general recreation wise. You seem to have most of the bases covered besides an AR or something similar and a semi auto handgun. But it's whatever you want man.

>the term sniper rifle
wanna know how i know you're noguns?

yea I just hate ARs, all my brothers have one and I think the .223 is a pussy round. It's just a souped up .22 in my opinion, no sense in paying extra for it. I also hate mechanical pistols, just no soul to them, you know.

I guess I'm more into the old school shit.

Uh huh.

Also, .223 goes ALOT faster than a 22lr and is a heavier projectile. You should try some ballistic experiments.

I'm well aware that it's faster and heavier, but if I want to go for faster and heaver I'd rather go even further. One of my brothers has a .308 SCAR , that fucker is goddam legit. Fucking round after round through that thing and it heats up fast but the increased power blows the .223 away.

Sometimes you don't need to go in that hard and heavy, .308 is great, but not applicable in all encounters. Do you happen to have any pictures of your. 357? That is a fun round.

.223/5.56 penetrates 3/8" mild steel plate at 100 yards.
.308 does not.
5.56 will also penetrate about 24" of wood, .308 is around 16".

You may have some firearm knowledge, but you are missing out on the basic fundamentals.
They both have their place in combat. But you need to understand the abilities of each round.

I'm not into posting pics of my actual stuff, to much weird shit on Yea Forums.

But it's this model and make.

modernfirearms.net/userfiles/images/handguns/usa/revolver/1287755458.jpg

Really fun gun, the .357 is great for defense, even against bears when hiking, but we shoot .38's all day out of it for target practice.

My dude, you are talking bullshit. I have a .25 inch plate target at our gun range. We shoot .223s at it all day and they just ping off. I punch holes in that fucker with my .308.

Stop reading articles and do some actual shooting.

I'd love to buy a crossbow, too bad I'm from mexico and those are illegal here

. Not that user, but, .223 is not 5.56

?Por qué amigo¿

.308 has WAY more energy than .223 .. it will certainly put holes in 3/8 mile steel at 100 yards, i have done so regularly, it punches clean through. .308 is more lethal, has more energy, and better barrier penetration than .223 .. but .223 is still quite an energetic cartridge and certainly has it's place.. it's far more devastating than a pistol caliber and plenty for it's intended purposes.

Mexico has gun laws? Can't you just buy whatever you want in Oaxaca?

>implying I didn't
I have 7 at to monent, didn't buy the last one I was gonna due to amount of work I needed.

Supongo que en el estado en que vivo ellos son ilegales, tristemente

Sadly not lol

>.223 bounces off
You're full of shit. I doubt you even own a gun.
I've ran comparisons many times.

We've tested:
5.56
30.06
30/30
7.62x39
.308
7mm rem mag
.300 win mag

Oh ok, I'm full of shit and you're "running tests" on 7.62 vs .308. Only an idiot who only googled about ammo would claim that.

Wail Woads and Twain Twacks are the Same Fing.

Which is exactly what you want if you're shooting to kill something. You don't want a clean through hole, you want that energy to hear it apart inside, which is why those larger bullets don't penetrate as much.
You're basically saying it's better to stab somebody with a needle than a knife because the needle will pierce deeper and easier.

Crossbows are fun.
Fun fact: broadhead arrows can penetrate soft body armor with ease.

Yeah I think the most appealing thing for me is how crossbows, just like bows, are a more modern adaptation of old medieval weapons

I mean sure they might not be as powerful as guns but damn do they look great

Attached: WhitetailHunter-STR.png (1920x1543, 445K)

I don't get the appeal. I love shooting a bow, I just don't like crossbows.

What do you think about traditional longbows? Just a simple machine, but it gets the job done if you're strong enough.

My model below

lancasterarchery.com/fred-bear-montana-longbow-black-maple.html

I'm actually looking for a .22lr handgun to carry for personal protection..

I think the one thing a lot of people seem to forget is that no one wants to get shot. I know "muh stopping power" and alladat, but when you pull a gun on some asshat trying to rob you or whatnot, once you let off a round, they're not sticking around if you miss. There will be no shootout, no hiding behind walls lettin off shots at random. He's gonna run... Because nobody wants to get shot.

And if he does get shot, assuming he's not high on meth, crack, or pcp, he's getting the fuck outta dodge 'cause while nobody wants to get shot, they really don't want to get shot twice.

Pic related, the gun I've zeroed in on. Ruger SR22 in black.

Attached: Rugerggg.jpg (1401x1053, 133K)

You get a lot more shots out of a .22 than with a 9mm. Once you run out of round you might as well be holding a big stapler.

.22 has my vote.

youtube.com/watch?v=xyNvbeCTRO8

I think it's a slightly easier approach to shooting when compared to bows as not everyone has the strength to pull the string the whole way back.

And that's a pretty good choice for a bow user, good taste too.

I love shooting it, but it's exhausting. 30 minutes and I'm sore all next day.

1000 internets for you fine sir, this made my day.

I inherited one.

I'm this user I was not aware of the .223 as an option. Though I'd prefer a smaller, light gun I just read about the FN Five-Seven.

Jesus... I kinda want one now but they're expensive as shit. 20 in the clip plus one in the chamber??? Yes please!!!

The Ruger is still #1 on my short list, but fuck if I don't want that .223.

Attached: review-fn-5-7.jpg (1001x725, 141K)

.223 is a rifle round. I've never seen a pistol .223, I'm sure someone somewhere made one, shit I've shot .45-70 revolvers so crazy people make anything, but I've never heard of a .223 pistol.

The pic I posted is a .223 pistol.

range365.com/fn-five-seven-pistol-gun-review

sounds like a hoot, but for self/home defense 20+1 would be great
