Climate change is a real deal but its origin isnt human. Climate change is part of the cicles of earth, as well there are ice ages, there are also hot ones. Climate change is irreversible and its going to be apocalyptic for us, since the planet is overpopulated. We probably will only see the early symptoms in 40 to 50 years, but in 100 years the human race will be put in trial and near extinction because of the rise of temperatures.
Governments cant do shit to prevent this, and all the things that theyre making are useless. Electric cars wont help, recycling wont help, buyinh eco friendly stuff wont help.
How I know this? Well I know by first hand a scientist that works in macmurdo amongst a team of almost 30 more scientist studying climate change, and all this information has been given to me by him.

You mean the winter where I didn't see any fucking snow

The difference is time scale. From the time that the USA was under a mile of ice to the temperature it was at in the beginning of the 20th century was 10-15 THOUSAND years.

From the early 1900's to today, the temperature has risin half that. Read: HALF AN ICE AGE in around 100 years.

Yeah the climate naturally goes up and down, at literal glacial speeds. Yes, CO2 goes up and down, it's been half today's levels and it's been double today levels, but it changes over tens or HUNDREDS of thousands of years. It's changed as much in less than 0.01% of time.

Speed has a very big effect on organic things. if I slowly brush my hand against your face, it'd be weird but you'd be fine. If I do the same thing 100 times faster, your face is going to hurt like hell. It's all in how FAST it is happening.

This.

i live on a small island in the caribbean, my family has been here for 3 hundred years. Our water table has risen so much that the shore where my grand parents and before were baptized is now under water (it was a pond carved into te rock). Hell, even in the last 40 years our water table as risen so much that our deep wells we use for our septic runoff no longer work at high tide.

An abrupt climate change occurs when the climate system is forced to transition to a new climate state at a rate that is determined by the climate system energy-balance, and which is more rapid than the rate of change of the external forcing. Past events include the end of the Carboniferous Rainforest Collapse,Younger Dryas, Dansgaard-Oeschger events, Heinrich events and possibly also the Paleocene–Eocene Thermal Maximum. The term is also used within the context of global warming to describe sudden climate change that is detectable over the time-scale of a human lifetime, possibly as the result of feedback loops within the climate system.

Timescales of events described as 'abrupt' may vary dramatically. Changes recorded in the climate of Greenland at the end of the Younger Dryas, as measured by ice-cores, imply a sudden warming of +10 °C (+18 °F) within a timescale of a few years. Other abrupt changes are the +4 °C (+7.2 °F) on Greenland 11,270 years ago or the abrupt +6 °C (11 °F) warming 22,000 years ago on Antarctica

>strong amalgamation

Now that's a scientific standard I never learned about in college

Climate is the same as weather?
Is that you Donald?

Several periods of abrupt climate change have been identified in the paleoclimatic record. Notable examples include:

About 25 climate shifts, called Dansgaard-Oeschger cycles, which have been identified in the ice core record during the glacial period over the past 100,000 years.
The Younger Dryas event, notably its sudden end. It is the most recent of the Dansgaard-Oeschger cycles and began 12,900 years ago and moved back into a warm-and-wet climate regime about 11,600 years ago. It has been suggested that: "The extreme rapidity of these changes in a variable that directly represents regional climate implies that the events at the end of the last glaciation may have been responses to some kind of threshold or trigger in the North Atlantic climate system."[ A model for this event based on disruption to the thermohaline circulation has been supported by other studies.
The Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum, timed at 55 million years ago, which may have been caused by the release of methane clathrates, although potential alternative mechanisms have been identified. This was associated with rapid ocean acidification.

There are also abrupt climate changes associated with the catastrophic draining of glacial lakes. One example of this is the 8.2 kiloyear event, which associated with the draining of Glacial Lake Agassiz. Another example is the Antarctic Cold Reversal, c. 14,500 years before present (BP), which is believed to have been caused by a meltwater pulse from the Antarctic ice sheet. These rapid meltwater release events have been hypothesized as a cause for Dansgaard-Oeschger cycles,

We got some based /fit/ scientists in here stating logical facts.

Climate has become the new secular 'religion', with its prophets (climate scientists) and Ecclesiarchy (globalist technocrats) where scientific 'fact' is decided by consensus. If you dare question them you are labeled a 'denier' and a heretic.

I shoveled snow once this year. 10 years ago i shoveled snow 3 times a week for 4 months, average

What bull shit!
Way to avoid the substance of a debate (and implications) by labeling the players.
People apply labels so they can dismiss people and ideas and then engage in knee jerk reactions.
Nice labels btw.

Actually what is considered fact is what you can either A: reproduce by multiple teams in multiple areas or B: find multiple sources of data that all point to the conclusion.

I measure the amount of CO2 in the air every day for 14 years. Say it measures 400ppm today. It doesn't matter how many people agree or disagree about it. It was still measured at 400ppm. it could even be reproduced, measured in multiple other places, to see if they also read 400ppm.

I could measure it a week later and get 500ppm. I can see it increased. noone else needs to agree or argue that it increased, that was based off direct observations. No concnesus required. Other people could measure the Co2. They might find that it also increased where they are, they might find it decreased where they are. That doesn't make my recorded findings less valid, it simply gives more information - that it is increasing everywhere or it is increasing only in specific areas

Now thousands of people measure the CO2 in thousands of places around the world. if 95% of those people keep measuring the CO2, year after year, and the CO2 levels keep going up every year, that has nothing to do with concensious. The measurement tools have no thought. Your personal thoughts have no effect on what the CO2 in the air is. The fact that it is raising worldwide is driven by recorded observations over time.

This is how science do.

500 of what?
15%death
4% health problems

according to the example, ppm of CO2. Numbers are probably wildly off. Idea was the principle of the post. Science is based off measureing, re-measuring, confirming, and comparing results to try and figure things out. People can make politics and drama around science, but that is not what science is about. If you don't trust the "consensus" then look at the published data yourself. Draw your own conclusions.

Nice article from 2013, show me one written since the IPCC came out

>origin isn’t human
We know this dipshit, but we are contributing to changing it by pouring shit into the atmosphere. It is worse by what we are doing. We have a chance to change things and not go extinct by lowering our carbon emissions to zero by 2025.

If you think climate change isn't real and caused by humans, you are literally as delusional as a person who thinks smoking cigarettes is safe.

Aluminum actually blocks waves. An aluminum room would be good for you.

Fuck off back to /pol/ you autistic retard.

Liberals make the most pollution. They all claim its okay since they have a higher population.

Attached: waw.jpg (1066x495, 219K)

Doesn’t fucking matter you absolute mongoloid. The planet is hurtling towards extinction and you’re pointing at your neighbour being like “it’s Jeffs fault, he leaves his lights on at night”

Look for a solution. It’s not time to blame it’s time to knuckle down and fucking solve

The Left now demands that you 'Believe' Science, in other words that you accept what they say without question or examination. If you don't, or if you even point out an obvious error, you are branded a 'Denier', aka a heretic and unbeliever.

Does that SOUND like Science to you? Of course not, it's a religion. More accurately it is a Cult.

The Climate Faithful have been caught repeatedly in lies, and push crazy conspiracy theories like how Exxon 'knew' about the Climate Crises and covered it up (despite being the ones doing the most to publish investigations), while simultaneously conspiring themselves to alter data, organize political movements, and run 'lawfare' campaigns, as has been shown in their own released emails. And as people have begun to tune out the constant drone of alarmism the Faithful have responded by ratcheting it ever higher. What was once a possibility of danger a hundred years from now has become extinction in a decade, despite the fact that actual warming has been a fraction of predicted for two decades now. Every Storm, Fire, or Event is now 'caused by Climate Change', despite being no different from any other for centuries.

Most absurd, the Lefts preferred 'Solutions' to this manufacturered Crises, Globalist Socialism and Renewable Energy, have been proven over and over to not work. Even many lifelong members of the movement, like former NASA Climate Scientist James Hanson, Acknowledge that only a massive buildup of Nuclear Power could truly Decarbonize the Electrical grid. But the Faithful don't care.

We will continue to see this panic escalate over the next decade. Nothing will change. Billions will be wasted, and CO2 production will keep increasing. NO major country will meet it Paris Accord promises no matter how much they claim to believe, because it isn't possible. Eventually the Climate Crises will fade into the background, replaced by new Scares, just like Peak Oil and the Population Bomb before it. But they will never admit it.

The thing I always wonder about climate change denial is, how do you account for Venus being hotter than Mercury, if not for the greenhouse effect?

Outdated bullshit article, well done faggot

If they really gave a fuck, they'd just do it over skype lol

I would like to see evidence that "the left" demands such things, so I can review them and come up with my own conclusions.

I could then talk to other people who looked at the same evidence, or found other evidence about the same topic with which i could discuss my findings.

That is science.

Its real user grow up and leave your fucking farm this is something scientifically proved not any trans or gay shit

If we lower the planet’s carbon emissions to zero by 2025 and climate change doesn’t exist, what’s the worst that happens? We have cleaner air, better water, more trees and forests.

If we don’t lower carbon emissions and you’re wrong, what happens? The world becomes more polluted. All insects dies, the food chain fucks up. Climate increases to a point where it’s uninhabitable by humans and we all die

If you talk about the economy in your argument, you’re a sellout to humanity

You mean the winter where we had one or two extreme storms between weeks of T-shirt weather?

How is that not indicative of climate change?

It's literally the left's fault and they want MORE IMMIGRANTS

So, we're just going to ignore this guy?

a more political response to this comment

On the topic of manufacturing crises, what happened to "the caravan" at the southern USA boarder? Before the midterm elections, trump mentioned it over 50 times in the preceding week. In the week after, he mentioned it only once. It's almost like he branded a bunch of refugees who are fleeing from drug lords and violence (which mexico and many southern countries are full of) as if they themselves were more dangerous than they were, tried to treat asylum as an illegal immigration, split parents up from their children without even keeping proper records, etc. What about how this all seemed to disappear and become much less important after the midterms passed? truly if it was a wave of dangerous young armed men as certain people had stated then it would still be an issue after election, and not merely something to frighten people into giving their vote.

I mean as far as a manufactured crises are concerned, isn't a slow, gradual crawl towards destruction kind of week? Where is the call to action? Where is the urgency? What public image are you going to try and rally people around to make them support you? Assuming climate change, a thing that is directly measurable by anyone with a thermometer, pen and paper, and a pulse, must be the WORST manufactured crisis I've ever heard of.

Keep on trucking buddy. honestly it doesn't even matter, humanity reacts too slowly to problems it doesn't want to face anyways for us to save ourselves. For example before Britain had a proper sewage system they built their parliament buildings on the river, and almost immediately started raiding money to build a new building somewhere else because everything smelled like shit. They would have just ignored the problem and left it to get worse if there wasn't public outcry about all the money wasted on the brand new building they were going to abandon. Humans are fucking lazy and will 99% ignore a problem for as long as they can

Pretty sure they made it to Cali and voted blue.

Honestly this has the most merit. I'd have to research this more to make an informed response. My gut feeling is that either the changes they saw were still orders of magnitude slower than our modern day changes, or that they could have been caused back then by other uncommon events (think massive meteor impacts, chain volcanic eruptions, etc) that haven't happened in the modern day, but created a similar rapid effect. This is just conjecture. A decently researched comment deserves a decently researched reply.

climate is kill, we're all going to die. But I hope you die sooner and in more pain than the rest of us

underrated post.

The alarmist shills and leftists cant say anything to back up their claim like usual, just throwing around articles written by paid off scholars and then quickly derailing the topic so as not to get fact checked.
The people are slowly starting to realize this was all a sham, and if not yet they sure will come the decades...

What winter?
Didnt even have snow laying for more than some hours

No it doesn't, it transmitts them
The classical tinfoil hat just protects you from scans, not waves in general

Jesus fuck you're dumb.

What about the conservative run corporations that control factories?

Wont happen is different from can’t happen though

Which things? Was there something that isn't blindingly obvious that you need to be pointed out? Maybe a 'Believe Science' T-shirt on sale through Amazon to show that the Left really does push that.
Or maybe you need evidence that hurricanes really did exist in the past, and where even bigger killers then.

Just let me know

>Climate change is part of the cicles of earth
This.

Attached: vedic-time.jpg (723x541, 141K)

You can't argue with the willfully ignorant. It's just preferable to believe there's no problem, so that's what people do.

Honestly anyone who posts Branco is a fucking retard

No it doesn't. He's talking about changes in single areas, and throwing out numbers to seem like he's making a better point. With climate change, some places are cooler than they were, most places are warmer, BUT, the average global temperature is going up.

>earth changes on cycles
Yes
>earth changes AS MUCH AS QUICKLY as we've measured in the last few decades
absolutely not.

If I slap you quickly it hurts a fuck lot more than if I slap you very, very slowly.

You dont really "know" if venus is really hotter then mercury, you never have been there
So if you're a paranoid fuck that doesn't believe scientists on one thing why should you believe them on something other you have absolutely no way to approve of yourself

You dumb nigger, didAOC tell you this?

Bro tip; you couldn't change the climate even if you wanted to.

Algae, with enough time, can and have changed the atmosphere and temperature of earth with enough time. We're simply better at it than algae.

>what’s the worst that happens?
How about 'The death of Billions'. How do you think we're going to Decarbonize the whole world in less then a decade? This isn't just a fantasy world, it's insane. Even if we could afford to build the unbelievably large number of Renewables that it would take to Replace all Fossil Fuel power plants (we can't) that would still only be less then half of our energy needs. We'd still need to replace transportation. And that still leaves two Billion people in absolute poverty. Probably more.
If you were talking about massive buildup up of Nuclear Power, then we might at least get part way there, but the Greens fear Nuclear even more then Climate Change.

You may as well ask for Unicorns and Fairy Dust.

my god that was badly structured. im too sleep to english. nap time

You mean the winter where I got a foot of snow?

> im too sleep to english
I think I have a new favorite phrase. Thank you!

And all the oil billionaire funded research institutes like CATO, Smith institute and media channels like pragerU are just what you described.
They have more money for it and still would be worse at it. Stop making everything into a grand conspiracy, I know it makes it easier to deal with the world but you're just making yourself dumber.

I think you're being a bit too hyperbolie there

I heard that an area the size of washington state completely covered in solar panels would be enough energy to power the USA. It would be insanely expensive, still have issues with transportation and storage of power, etc. But it's not impossible

Also want to point out that some of the larger green groups have been turning to nuclear power in recent years. Turns out that the materials to build solar panels, energy to create and install them, and energy to create the infrastructure to have giant solar farms and transmit the power is actually worse for the environment in the long term than a modern nuclear plant. You can also build a nuclear plant basically anywhere, there are plants now days that can run off the nuclear waste from old plants and serve as recycling facilities, and they last decades.

>I mean as far as a manufactured crises are concerned, isn't a slow, gradual crawl towards destruction kind of week?
It is extremely weak. That is why the 'possible danger in a hundred years' has been dropped in favor of 'Extinction in a decade', despite the fact that even the Alarmist UN doesn't support that.

Frankly, they've been making these Doom in a Decade predictions for 30 years now. Hell, they've been doing it since the 50's, but they've had to change the supposed cause. Population Bomb, Food Scarcity, Peak Oil. This is just the latest, and it's held on longer only because you are dealing with such tiny changes in such a difficult thing to measure.
But it is dieing. That's why the screeching has reached a crescendo.

Ok well if I see "doom in a decade" I'm going to treat it the same as "6tb sd cards" and "cold fusion". Maybe people are trying to exaderate it to compel people to get off their ass and actually do something about it? But still kinda scummy.

What I would totally believe is that there is some tipping point in the next decade or two, where after that point the positive feedback loop will be accelerating too fast for us to reverse it. It's not that we're IMMEDIATELY dead in a decade or two, but that we will guarantee our future death in some century or two after the point of no return passes. Future doom simply isn't as scary.

Leftist always jump to the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy to explain why people don't beleive all their bullshit. And when the emails finally get released and the hidden groups get pushed into the light, guess who really gets caught cooking the books, forging the evidence, and erasing the servers?

I'll give you a hint, it's the same side that also keeps getting caught abusing the women, molesting the kids, and running around in blackface.

>molesting the kids,
The Catholics?

>I heard that an area the size of washington state completely covered in solar panels would be enough energy to power the USA
Well, maybe if the sun shined 24 hours a day, from directly above, with no clouds, and the panels never got dirty or scratched...
Nope still won't work.

What do you have against Asians?

Anyway, aren't you liberals the ones that despise humanity and suggest that we don't deserve this planet? Reproduction is the same as polluting to you, so what the hell do you care if all humans die? Isn't it what we deserve?

is the faulty discord thing a new Yea Forums scam i just havent noticed or what?

Unfortunately the Environment movement picked up the exaggeration problem early on, and so far it hasn't really bit them. Sure, those of us my age realized the problems weren't as bad (or even real) when decades went by without us running out of oil or rainforest or whatever. But there was always the next generation to move on to.
Back in the 80's and early 90's I was a huge supporter of Renewables and The Hydrogen Economy. It's lost a lot of its luster since then. I still think we should be moving to Nuclear, for Energy production and to power Transportation once battery tech catches up.

As for Climate Tipping Points, the world has seen huge swings in Temperature over the last few million years. And there is evidence of a major tipping points.
It's about 2.5 degrees Celsius below us, and it's the difference between a interglacial and a ice age. If there's one above us we've somehow missed it every other time.

Pffft

Yes, because wild and unusual weather patterns surely arent a sign of climate change

Honestly you're retarded if you think climate change is real after living for 3 months. It's the seasons, you dips, not the apocalypse.

Website articles take advantage of people's complete misunderstanding of climate change and science.
Entire article about dangers of Carbon Dioxide being a lie, something we breath every day, ignoring carbon MONOXIDE a dangerous lighter than air manufacturing byproduct.

Whats the difference? They're both fucking carbon, nigga.

I have been studying marine biology the last 5 years, and I can assure you the climate is changing. I do believe that humanity's role in that is very little. Based on previous data the climate should have been increasing in heat long before we were around. Many experiments have shown that the effect CO2 has on the greenhouse effect is negligible, and I can trust them because a friend of mine was involved in some of them.

Actual scientists not on "the payroll" say that the earth is cooling. Which explains that winter and this cold ass spring

I think whether it's out fault or it isn't very relevant.
If we figure out that the climate is changing and it will have negative consequences, then we should do something about it so it doesn't hurt us.

Ridiculous. Absolutely moronic. I'd say anyone who falls for this shit deserves it but it also affects me so... you idiots are gonna have to go if you keep this shit up.

Are those the same scientists that said Miami would be wiped off the map by 2020?

user. Trees breathe co2

Serious question. If everything mainstream climate change people say it's true. Can't we just plant more trees to equalize the atmospheric "breathing?"
This is referring to the fact that trees inhale CO2 and exhale oxygen.

Do you have anywhere near an inkling of an idea on how we could stop climate change. I know several climatologist and everyone goes on and on about how damn complicated it all is. Humanity does not have the capability to stop the pattern that climate has been following as far back as we can measure. The amount of energy needed stop water currents from changing is astronomically more than the entire planet produces in a day. What makes you think we could change the whole planet. There are alot of things human beings have been destroying because of pollution, deforestation, and fishing. But the climate is not one of them.
