Video game addiction is real. It's not like when you grew up on the Nintendo 64 or PS1 playing single-player games. Stuff like fortnite is full on multiplayer and can be played anywhere. My Zoomer cousins don't do anything else with their childhood but sit around. Even when my aunt kicks them out they just whip out their phones and play on the porch. It's really sad and it's not the same as when we were kids. When I have children I'm not even going to let them have a fucking phone. Fuck that mind rotting garbage

OP, I know a kid who is a freshman in high school. I do not really know the clinical threshold for a tech addiction, but I know he has it. He cannot really speak intelligently on any topic except games. His ability to connect with other humans seems to swing entirely on their ability to meet him in the middle and talk games. He answers most questions with an "I don't know" or "I don't care". This goes from simple things about where to eat dinner to issues on politics or even women. Its a real problem I think. He has it far worse than others. But its a developing problem.
