European fag here. I got a question to you guys about the politics in the United States. How come republicans have no plan for health care? And isn't the Affordable Care Act better than nothing? I really can't fathom how getting rid of the ACA is any better than literally nothing.

Republicans (Trump admin) are dead set on reversing everything the Obama administration did. Republicans had SIX years to come up with a replacement. However, the ACA is the best option we've got.

To put it simply:
Trump = racist.
Racist Trump hates black ex-President.
Racist Trump decides to undo as many things as black ex-President enacted in order to "best" him.
Racist Trump is a fucking moron and - you are correct - having the ACA is vastly superior to having nothing, which is what we have in America. Nothing. Horrid infant mortality rate, no compassion for the dying, insane drug-prices... frankly it's embarrassing to look at every other developed country in the world and realize just HOW FAR BEHIND we are.

So yes, it's better than nothing.

We could, you know, actually regulate drug prices so I don't have to buy my insulin from Canada because it's almost $600/mo here as opposed to $150/mo on average a month in Canada with shipping.

Because republicans are notoriously brain dead

OP here
Wow, 4x pricing for something so basic like insulin, it's even worse than I thought. How come so many people are so angry about ACA then? Is it just trench warfare politics?

>trench warfare politics
Yup.

I was diagnosed with type 2 in my early 20s. A monthly dose of Humalog is roughly $570/mo for me. I can literally buy 6 weeks worth of pens and vials for $150 every 6 weeks from BC.

Insulin has been around for about 100 years now. It's fucking insulin ffs.

>I really can't fathom how getting rid of the ACA is any better than literally nothing.
Yes before the ACA we had nothing, no health care at all. People were dying everywhere. It was awful.

You misspelled “Europoor.”

Considering the topic we are talking about the irony is crazy.
1/10 made me respond

>Type 2

Wow, it’s almost like it’s your fault for being irresponsible. Why should I have to pay for your insulin when I eat vegetables and exercise regularly?

MEDICINE IS NOT A RIGHT, IT IS A COMMODITY

>behind every other developed country

Technologically speaking, specifically medicine, the US leads the world in drug development. The FDA was and remains a model for the European drug authority. In fact, if you get your drug through all the FDA clinical trials it’s pretty much guaranteed to fly through European regulations.

You fags advocating for free shit are know-nothing ignoramuses.

The ACA fucked more people than it helped. Those who can still afford healthcare out of pocket pay multiples more than they used to. I used to pay $25 a month for an HMO plan before Obamacare. The premium quadrupled in my first year under Obamacare, then continued to climb after that. Needless to say, i can't afford insurance any more.

Obamacare only gives "free" healthcare to those who make under $17k a year, just so you know. For EVERYONE else it has made healthcare less accessible. The only people who didn't notice a difference are those who get healthcare from their employer.

It's what happens when you have a republican majority, the people get fucked and their healthcare worse. Obama was blocked by bitch Mcturtle on every step until the final version was just the very bare minimum on healthcare they let through. As long as people vote Republican, only rich people will have access to sufficient healthcare sadly.

Wait, are you being sarcastic? Because if you're not, I feel the need to tell you that it absolutely wasn't my fault. I'm in shape, have a decent diet, and work out 5 days a week. I'm 5'10" and 166lbs.

If I was obese and sat on the couch all day, then yes, I'd be completely at fault.

>The FDA was and remains a model for the European drug authority. In fact, if you get your drug through all the FDA clinical trials it’s pretty much guaranteed to fly through European regulations.

Yeah I'mma need a citation for that dawg.

You have it backwards. Whenever the government gets involved in anything, it not only becomes more expensive but also more scarce. If government controls healthcare throughout the country we're only going to see more people lose their insurance. Look at how shitty the NHS is.

You have to stop pointing fingers at mean Republican politicians and take a look at the root of the problem. The solution is to decentralize healthcare and get rid of regulations prohibiting the growth of competition in the market. One of the chief offenders of this in the states is a law that states it's illegal to buy healthcare across state lines.

I had GREAT personal insurance until Obamacare went through. Went from $60 a month to almost $200 and the coverage tanked as well. Plus, you were required to have it or pay a penalty. The idea was to charge younger, healthier people more and make them buy insurance to help finance the older, more expensive peoples problems.

They were too stupid to realize that younger people don't buy insurance because they can't afford it and don't really need it as much.

Plus, there is a clause that means if your employer offers you insurance, you have to take it or forgo any discounts you would normally get for being low income. My last job offered the worst - $300 a month with a $10k min charge before it kicked in and then it only covered the next $7k and then was done. No prescription coverage, no dental and only the mandatory once a year checkup was covered

>my health is significantly worse because I had to spend 7 years with no insurance and am just now getting it again (it's still useless)
>Affordable my ass

Yes, it's all racism and ignorance, especially with this new prez. also they have no incentive and don't care about fixing anything in healthcare because they are the beneficiaries of a "socialist" healthcare program for government workers. And even though they claim to hate it, you'll never see these bastards giving up their sweet healthcare deal because they are absolute hypocrites.

I'm 29 years old. Haven't had health nsurance since I was 19. I just pay for the doctors visit out of pocket once a year. I pay for the dental every month which is like $18.

My state market place wanted to charge me $379/mo LOL. I'm all set

>Because America is Dysunctional

I'm 30 and in the same boat. It's cheaper to go to urgent care once a month than it is to pay for useless insurance. I blew out an eardrum a year or so ago and insurance covered NOTHING because I didn't meet the minimum. It was $1200 just to go in to the hospital (urgent care wouldn't deal with it) and have a nurse look in my ear and give me an antibiotic

>sure glad they forced me to have insurance

All the ACA actually does is require individuals to buy health insurance. It doesn't provide health insurance, health care, or anything else. Literally the only thing it does is mandate that everybody buy insurance, under the assumption that getting more young people paying insurance premiums will lower the overall cost to everybody else. That didn't happen. Premiums went UP. Obamacare failed.

Since the ACA my premium went up 1600% and now provides 500% less coverage. Having "literally nothing" would be more affordable outside of a catastrophic, disabling event. But of course, if you didn't sign up to get raped you had to pay a massive penalty. Health care now costs are as much as a mortgage for many families around here now.

In the liberal timeline the ACA was probably their stepping stone to Universal HC. "Well, you're stuck with this shit so how about we pay the entire thing for you? You won't actually pay any less, probably more, since we fucked the entire thing and inflated costs and your coverage won't improve but at least you can say you have Universal HC now!"

We do not have a single payer system here. Medical prices get inflated due to government backing payment to private companies. ACA forced everyone, at gunpoint, to participate. If you're okay with your government forcing you, at gunpoint, to pay private corporations whatever they decide is appropriate, be my guest. I'd rather be able to decide what coverage I want and what I want to pay, if anything.
Forcing companies to offer insurance to their employees also saddled small businesses with more costs.
Private companies competing for my business is better than the government forcing us into paying.
Governments are good for a couple things. Healthcare isn't one of them

Repubs do have as plan. Many plans. But our media focuses on the Orange Man Bad narrative because it's profitable.

You literally didn't refute what he said; just pointed out that corperations spend more on R&D then other countries because they know they can mark-up their drugs and cash in for millions.

Fucking trumpets can't even read.

You're an idiot and you're lying. If you opt out of healthcare coverage you pay a fine, nothing more. Private companies don't compete for your business; they each take a region and set prices sky high. Your just another idiot regurgitating GOP talking points.

Do they, though? All I've seen is "let's cut all healthcare as well as everything else so non-billionaires can go die in a ditch".

Is there an *actual* plan anywhere I can look at? I'm always surprised by how horrible all Republican plans are, so I could use a bit of evidence that they're not horrible monsters. I'm being serious.

>"I hate socialism"
>Receives socialist government-sponsored health care

smh, fam

Nah... some Americans dont want it at all. Just because we have insurance doesnt mean we can afford to use insurance. Our healthcare and insurance system is corrupt and greedy. The cheapest plans provide the cheapest care and usually leave nothing but bills in their wake. Terrible man. People boast all the time about how great America is and despite that greatness we have people dying every day from lack of basic medical care. Shit like not getting insulin... disgraceful.

>MEDICINE IS NOT A RIGHT, IT IS A COMMODITY

A product can be a commodity and a human right. Water is a commodity and a human right, and so is medicine. Your libertarian ideals are against human rights. You may want to live in a hell hole where suffering and inequality is killing people, but eventually your ideas and people like you will cease to exist because what you advocate for is for treating nearly every persons life on the planet as less important than a few people's greed. You live your life like a capatlist everyday but when shit falls on you, you are gonna be whining about how unfair life is. All you have shown is that you have never had to deal with the troubles of a common person or you are a psychopath.

Really.. I bet for every example you may find there is 50 counter examples.

well said user. is a complete trump voter.

The Republicans had a health plan for years that they loved the idea of, until a black guy put it place, then they hated it.

We have the ACA now and yet I'm still uninsured.

That was perfectly said. Bravo

They even put in an express lane. US has 30 days to review/approve drugs that have been approved by the EU. Amazing how many people don't know that our pharma companies are French and shit...

hunger is population control

Imagine being so whipped by ayn rand that you actually believe this.

A wild red pill appears!

I get free health care / insurance through my job. Next question?

Mhh, no opioid crisis here in Europe. You sure, you don't talk out of your ass?

Attached: NA.jpg (350x600, 44K)

>through MY job
That's great for YOU.

>corporate dollars used to bribe an approval panel
=/=
>taxing those corporations enough to have anticorruption measures for your approval panel

Besides not being related to the post you replied to, you're just wrong about everything user. You have become absorbed in yourself to the point of maximum head up assedness.

Blame your shitty job. Not his.

Privatized health care is a joke

>sign up for healthcare
>5 years later get sick - "help me, private for-profit insurance!"
>"LOL, that disease is really expensive, so we're canceling you. But thanks for all the money, fucker. Good luck finding someone else to cover you!"
>Dies in a ditch

Why would anyone think this is ok?

>obamacare
>legislated by Mitt Romney
How is it still called obamacare when it was designed by republicans?

Political discussions outside of pol should be bannable, take your politically obsessed tin foil hat wearing cum lord bullshit somewhere else

It's not that everyone receiving healthcare is a bad thing, it's what it cost folks who actually work that is the problem. It was set up poorly. The cost of healthcare for the workforce is ridiculous because we have so many worthless wastes of space that refuse to work that get it for free and the cost is passed on to the working class.

Holy shit. OP struck a nerve, didn't they?

It's all political spin. No one that governs right now actually cares about fixing healthcare since they're on a great socialist healthcare system from the government already.

So, if you don't have great healthcare, I guess that's your fault for not being elected President.

>so many worthless wastes of space that refuse to work
We will definitely need a citation on that.

Even those of us who can get it from their employer can't afford it. Rates have gone up a significant amount through my employer

Ok Ivan

If you care for your wallets, anons, ignore this poster. This is a mind that doesn't understand scarcity economics and the history of American corporations. This is a mind that rejects reality in favor of a fountainheadesque projection where all of the poor of the world are government stooges and the rich are the only saving grace of society. Despair if this is all we have to look forward to.

Companies don't have compassion. All I understand is will this make me money. They should not be in charge of whether we live or die.

They actually select their coverage from a variety of insurers including Blue Cross Blue Shield

I work 40+ hours per week and can't afford health insurance but lazy fucks who refuse to work get it for free...tell me how that is fair?

>And isn't the Affordable Care Act better than nothing?

Not when it makes it impossible to afford healthcare when you're self employed. It's okay for those who don't work or produce. They don't have to pay a dime.

/pol is political incorrectness, not politics, you fucking weeb

Attached: 1552787034659.gif (400x225, 1.96M)

We have great healthcare in the US, but it’s gone noticeably downhill since Obamacare. I’ve had great health insurance all my life, almost everyone does. If you don’t get it through your job and you have legitimate hardship, Medicaid will cover you. I never understood what all the fuss was about, it was just a ploy to get the government more involved than they already are. Get up off your ass and get a job and you’ll be covered. If you have shit skills and don’t try to better yourself, why is it my responsibility to pay for your lazy ass?

Healthcare isn't a right you fucking moron, it's a commodity. As soon as you start making it a "right" then you force the doctors to do the work for free.

Having water isn't a right either.

Uneducated populous is 75% of the problem in this country

now for the Intelligent answer to OP's Question. ACA Was actually worse the the former Medicare program we had as it covered little and held almost 6 month waiting list on most doctors. In turn you had to see a health providor who then refers you to a doctor and that doctor had to either A be accepting your form of Insurance and B had to be accepting New patients. Aside the the rate of medications was far to unafforadble and even the generic was worse to try and afford. the reversal of CA was more a removal of the Fine people had to pay if they didnt have healthcare of anykind. ACA is actually been revamped to be more afforable. so yes republicans do have a plan for Healthcare.

My insurance premiums have went up 50% since the start of the ACA, while my coverage is worse. I would say that the ACA isnt working, my "foreign" friend.

I don't work and I don't have insurance in the US. Where can i get this free insurance?

>Get up off your ass and get a job and you’ll be covered

Yea, you lazy cancer-having bastards, get out of that chemo chair and get job, LMAO

I can smell the pile of bodies you are standing on, have you considered that some day you might be in the pile and then there will be some other idiot on top shouting at how you just need to try harder?

they're not working for free retard, they are being paid by taxes
just like public police and military keep you safe, public healthcare should keep you healthy
are you just trying to be edgy on the internet or do you actually think having people die/go bankrupt (probably both) because of disease is moral when the solution every other civilized country goes for is clearly superior?

Well, maybe be pissed at the republicans that coopted a state healthcare plan from massachusets, written by mitt romney, edited by the republican congress, had the individual mandate stripped by request of the republican party, and then when the plan became truly untenable at their own designe the failed to repeal it almost 50 fucking times.

In it's original form, ACA was fine. It was revenue neutral, required no further regulations other than tossing out junk insurance plans from the market, and it brought coverage to the poorest of the poor and those just on the cusp of getting out of that. It was fine. After they stripped the individual mandate along with everything else that made it work in massachusets, of course it sucked.

Be angry at the treacherous republican lawman. All of the fears and irrationality that so many on /pol/ try to impress on the jews are twice as real in the actions of republicans. They will pass legislation, strip out the parts that they know make it function, then try to remove the law they sabotaged. This is a regular occurence on both the federal and state governments. Beware the republican. Don't get caught in their self immolation for cash.

I agree that something can be both. but really, all of this "right vs. commodity" labeling is just a way to dodge the real issue and solves NOTHING.

In a normal first-world country, health care should be available at a reasonable cost to everyone, it doesn't matter what specific label you want to attach to it. If it is NOT, then that's a FAILED system and needs to be overhauled.

But the majority of the world disagrees with you. Have you considered that maybe you aren't right?

when you say republican, i hope you mean capitalist in general, m8

Attached: np99ibflkmk11.jpg (600x800, 77K)

hunger is population control

"having people die is moral because muh taxes"

If we ever end world hunger the global population is going to explode.

and make nations more advanced, thus reducing birth rates etc etc you know the drill

bird is the word

>-500% less
you know how to math

People really don't get this

Forcing people to use one healthcare system is Marxist and we don’t play that shit.

>this retarded

Attached: fuck my shit up.jpg (230x219, 7K)

What exactly do you think is causing those reduced birth rates?

you seem to be part of your self proclaimed problem

more people means more smart people means more social and technological advancement means declining birth rates just like in europe and NA

Free food starts falling from the sky in Africa. What keeps them from populating every square foot of that continent? Education? LOL

ACA is theft.

In europe all public healthcare is deficitary.
This is by definition deficitary.
Free heathcare cannot be profitable by definition.

Either it is private and people pay for it separately or it is public and free but you pay taxes to fund it.

Either way you pay for it. But private systems want to make profit whereas public free systems don't.

I opt for the European system: Public / free and funded by taxes.

>european fag here

go figure, the socialist moron doesnt know why the free healthcare in america is such a bad idea.fuck off now, america is fine without you eurotrash giving your opinions on everything

nigger

>declining birth rates
It has more to do with social engineering some people would call it. Others would call it brainwashing or propaganda.

how about the US spend less money on useless wars in the middle east and make their citizens stay alive instead?
less money for the military industrial complex so won't happen though

i opt for the welfare abusing trash who want free healthcare in america to move to the countrys that already have it.keep your socialist liberal shit out of america

Universal healthcare the way Obama implemented it was a shitshow designed to check a box in stats making it seem good. Obama could proudly say that the most people are currently ensured than ever were. What they fail to tell you is that ever since Obama implemented it, many plans are completely unusable garbage with high deductibles. I have a decent job and I never want to go to the doctors because the deductibles are too high. Deductibles are pure evil bullshit and until those go away it's just an excuse for Obama to say a lot of people are covered when they're practically not.

oh come on you're not one of those white genocide morons are you?

Fuck off dickhead. There is more than enough to go around. Stop being so fucking selfish.

>ACA=$7,500 deductible before you get insured
>Health Insurers WROTE the law and are making huge profits
>Welfare niggers lost all their community hospitals
>ACA destroyed any expendable income the Middle Class had and is putting families into more debt.
>Hurr Durr, republicans bad, Democrats good. If you still believe in a 2 party system you're a useful idiot. Republicans helped put the ACA in place

Literally nothing is better because the governmnet has no business being involved in health care.
Everything was just fine before the ACA came. Only the fools who believed the proaganda went along with it, and now they're the ones getting fucked the hardest.
Fuck them. They deserve it.

>socialism is when gubbenment does stuff, and gubbenment bad!

One day that military is going to save our lives.

>not having the German model; everyone is by default insured by one of the state options, those with the means and desire to have private insurance can do so

but not by shooting up another continent for oil, moron

If climate change is real then people will have to die.

what does that mean? not an attack i genuinely don't understand what you're trying to say

Before the ACA I couldn't afford health insurance at all and with it I was finally able to get it, my health is more important than some greedy fucking middle class family who's biggest cut back from this would be to get rid of one of their three fucking cars or moving into a house with two bathrooms instead of three, fuck the middle class and their "struggle" come live down here in the slums and learn about real problems

>i genuinely don't understand what you're trying to say
it's probably better that you don't

middle class isn't the issue, it's billionaires who avoid taxes so the middle class has to pay everything

democrats - class warfare
republicans - race war

i just don't get how we got from military industrial complex to people having to die bc of climate change
could you please elaborate

>unironically thinking dems are marxists

Your naivety is cute. I'm out.

wot

Because I don't feel like paying for someone else's health care! I work hard for my money and all the government wants to do is tax the hell out of me....and yet illegals get free health care!!! I pay for my health care....and everyone else's as it is....so let me keep what little money I have now!

Ahhhh, welfare nigger detected.
You're a parasite
And you couldn't "afford it" is bullshit, you just wanted to be on Medicaid and not pay anything

if you have little money now, you're not the one who would pay for healthcare in a functioning system
rich business owners etc would

>never makes a point
>endlessly attacks others
>smug attitude
How to spot a child with no point or reasoning. You should probably have thoughts of your own, otherwise when you just parrot others you look like an idiot with no substance. He asked you to explain and you simply cant, because you really have no idea on the details. You instead latch on to an overriding theme so you can easily bitch about some vague concept instead of having an actual conversation. You're an intellectual bottom feeder.

The middle class are people who actually worked hard to get out of the slums and are usually fighting to stay out of them.
Slum dwellers already had Medicaid which they cleverly rolled into the ACA so they could scare the poor into thinking they are going to lose their Medicaid if anybody messes with the ACA.

Thread is literal garbage.

All the aca did for the average person is make insurance more expensive so they are even further from affording it then fine them for not having it it was a cash grab that needs to die
